I didn't get around to brewing this cup until late, so after my tasting sips I handed it off to Mr. Fusion, who isn't as affected by caffeine as I am and who absolutely loves coconut anything and everything. The cardamom and coconut notes are definitely reminiscent of a good Thai iced tea, as was the rich mahogany tint in the cup. I wish I'd made this earlier in the day so I could have had the whole cup! (3 mins @ 200 F, no sweetener)

I love Coconut! This is a great blend with coconut, vanilla, and cardamom. I love it iced with coconut milk or sweetened condensed milk. I sampled this Tea as part of the CommuniTEA November box.

Very happy I tried this one. Complex flavor, smooth, sweet, delicious.

such a pleasant tea! I enjoyed it hot with oat milk and sugar!

★★★☆☆

Tea itself was fine. Coconut and vanilla flavors were a bit overpowering though for me.

★★★★☆

Could definitely taste the coconut. I’d like to try this one again. It was pretty bitter, so I probably shoulda added milk.

★★★★☆

This is a smooth and easygoing tea, but not one I particularly enjoy. The flavors work well enough together, I just don't care for coconut. Otherwise, it's an enjoyable blend.

This tastes incredibly similar to the thai tea I get from a favorite local food truck. I didn't have condensed milk, but drank it iced with a splash of coconut milk and sugar. Delicious! The aroma was incredible too. Will buy again.

This has a nice natural sweetness from the coconut and vanilla, but it doesn't taste anything to me like the Thai tea you'd get from a restaurant.

★★★★★

I had mine hot with Sourwood honey and almond milk/coconut cream half and half. I was really impressed with the taste. Might have to order a full bag of this.

This tea was just really nice-smooth and flavorful. I liked the coconut and vanilla tones, too. Just right!

I cannot compare this to an authentic Thai tea, but I can review it based on its own merits. The description states that this tea should have notes of coconut, cardamom, and vanilla. The coconut came through clear and strong bolstered up by hints of vanilla. The cardamom did not make its presence known to my taste buds. If you're looking for a coconut tea, this is a really excellent choice. (3 min @ 212°F)

I steeped this twice, the first for 5min @ 200°F, the second for an 8min at @ 200°F. My first steep I tried iced, with a spoon of sweetened condensed milk. I probably added a touch too much condensed milk because it seemed like the tea flavor was overpowered. The second steep I drank hot with a bit of sugar, and whatever condensed milk I didn't bother to clean from the spoon (very little). I definitely liked the second steep better. I don't know if it's that it was hot, or because it had less milk, but I got much more flavor - I could actually taste the coconut a bit. I only wish I had tried it hot the first steep, I can imagine how much better the flavors might've been.

Good spicy coconut tea. Love it with milk! Brew for 3 min

★★★★☆

This Thai tea has an appealing fragrance. I love the smell of coconut! I brewed the tea to immediately ice making a 'Thai iced tea' with foamed milk. It was good, but would have benefited from a longer brewing, perhaps 5 minutes (instead of 3 min).

This certainly smells like Thai tea. I can see where the blend is trying to imitate that flavor. It's deeper and more complex than most Thai teas I've had, but I think if I brewed it ridiculously strong and then loaded it with pounds of sugar and cream, it would be a high class version that would hit all the right notes.

Oh my...this is soooo good!!! I had it hot with a little sugar and cream. The coconut, vanilla and spices are perfectly blended. Going on my wishlist today :-)

It is not a traditional Thai tea, like the orange, creamy iced tea. It is predominantly coconut with subtle hints of cardamom that give it almost a medicinal after taste. Tastes decent with sweetened condensed milk.

I like it! Coconut is definitely the forefront flavor, but the vanilla and cardamom make a pleasing backdrop. I had this with some honey, and I think some amount of sweetener is needed for maximum enjoyment of this one

★★★★★

Wow, this is delicious! I really didn't expect it to be, since I don't really like coconut and I didn't have any cream, or milk, or anything in that vein to add to it but I love this! It smells great but it also tastes amazing, the balance of flavors means I'm getting little notes of everything but none is overpowering the other. Love this!

This is a case of YKINMK(ATO) for me. I could take or leave coconut as a flavor in general, when it comes to tea, and this blend centers on it.

Two Splendas were needed to cut through the bitterness up top, because this tea, even with a brief brew, is like the second act of a horror film: it gets dark quickly. If I'd had coconut cream or even regular milk on hand, this might have made a good latte-type drink, but hot without those, it is not for me.

And that's okay, because it might be for you. If you like a punchy dark black tea with mild spice rounded out by coconut and vanilla, try this. If cardamom is more important to you in something spicy than cinnamon and cloves, try this. One of the wonderful things about tea is that we all have different tastes; if this is your tea-soulmate, all power to you.

My initial impressions when I opened the bag were great. However, after I brewed my first cup (3 minutes at 212, like the package advised), I was a little bit underwhelmed. By itself, I wasn't getting a lot of the flavors that I was picking up the smell of, however, when I add milk and honey to it, the flavor profile completely shifts. I was getting a decent amount of coconut, but not much else. Due to the suggestions of some other CommuniTEA members, I decided to do my second brew (same leaves) at 10 minutes, 200 f. This is a much better cup in my opinion. The cardamom flavor is much more apparent using this method. I do lose a bit of the coconut flavor, but it is still there in the mouth feel and after taste. I am a bit conflicted about this tea because it is very delicious under the right conditions, but I feel like you NEED to add milk and sugar to the cup to make it worth drinking.

I didn’t even know there was such a thing as Thai tea. This was spectacular no matter what it is. Loved it with stevia and no cream. Lovely cup of tea. Smooth and perfect. 💗💗💗💗💗

Good Thai-restaurant flavor here, and I liked being able to prepare with less sugar than restaurant versions. Great with coconut milk.

Quite a nice tea. An unexpected surprise for me as I am not usually a coconut fan but this was nice and smooth. It tastes rich and almost creamy with the vanilla and spices. I look forward ti trying it iced as is recommended. I get a nice fall, smoky comforting feel drinking this tea. My hubby, who hates coconut, likes this tea! Go figure! I would get this again.

I don’t know what it is about Adagio’s Thai tea blends but something about the taste does not sit well with me. Maybe I was already biased regarding this flavor as I do not like the Thai chai but again something about the aftertaste of this tea turns me off. No thanks!

I was surprised that I liked this as much as I did, since I’m not big on coconut teas in general but I really liked the flavor combination of this tea. I actually preferred it hot over cold, but it worked well both ways sweetened with a touch of coconut creamer.

I really like Thai iced tea in restaurants. I like this tea. I had it black with a packet of sugar and I let it steep for the time on the package. It had a light floral flavor with a hint of spice. If I got more I might let it steep longer before trying to add any milk. I may have to try more sometime to try and make what I get at the Thai restaurant.

This was an okay Thai tea, and a good substitute for when I can't get out to my local boba tea shop. I found the black tea base to be a little strong even after steeping for only 2.5 minutes at 190, but the other flavors were quite nice. I always love coconut in teas, and this one tasted good with just a touch of sugar.

While trying this, I added sugar and milk to try and make a hot version of the bubble tea Thai tea I really like, and I was not disappointed. Loved the coconut, and think this would be a great bubble tea.

Part of the November 2020 CommuniTEA box. Kinda confused - my husband tasted chocolate apple, but the coconut came right through for me. A very sweet tea - even just a hint of sweetener makes the flavor blossom!

★★★★★

Wonderfully pleasant coconut and vanilla aromas were emerging from my communiTEA packet immediately upon opening. A couple small pieces of real live coconut were noted along with several red safflower threads. Everybody was lookin’ pretty, fragrant and ready to go! Since this was a Thai spiced tea and not an Indian chai, I decided to go for it and lower my steep to 200ºF for 5 mins and treat it like a normal spiced black tea and brew it long enough to intensify all flavors, including the tea. I reviewed this tea hot with 1 tsp of half & half and some sugar for a traditional not iced Thai tea. When hot and all the way to finish, very pleasant moderate creamy vanilla and coconut flavors were noted. A slight zing was noted from the cardamom. The black tea tastes were not very astringent or bitter at all and blended-in with the other flavors nicely to produce a mild caramel-like flavor. When warm, pleasantly mild camphor flavors were added from the cardamom. The black tea provided some mild dark cocoa flavors towards the end. This would be just the right drink to sip after eating one of my many level 10 spicy Thai curry dishes! It will definitely help cool down and smooth your tongue. I really liked this one. (5 mins @ 200ºF, 1/2 tsp sugar, 1 tsp half & half, not iced)

I love Thai tea so I was really disappointed with this one. All I got was a lot of artificial coconut flavor that overwhelmed everything else.

★★★☆☆

That is a lot of coconut... that being said I'm sure it is a perfectly splendid tea if you happen to like coconut.

★★★★★

This was so good, the perfect mix of the ingredients and the flavor was amazing.

Updating my review as it come up in the CommuniTEA packet today. My feelings haven't changed, this still tastes like a more fruity, slightly less spicy Chai tea. A good Thai tea should be very orange when you brew it (this one brews brown), and it shouldn't be fruity, spicy, or sweet (which this is). To me, Thai tea is more smoky and woodsy, and only sweet if you add sugar and cream like in the restaurants. (reviewed (again) through CommuniTEA; 3 min @ 205F) Original review below:

This tea seemed to be spiced more like a chai tea, and didn't really taste like an authentic thai tea. I tried it naked and with sweetened cream, but neither way seemed like a thai tea. It was good, I was just disappointed that it was more chai than thai. (My 3 stars are because I actually like this as a Chai tea better than any of the actual Chai teas on this site, not because I think it is a good Thai tea)

I got this in my communiTEA and was very excited, I rarely get Thai tea and I absolutely love it. This one had an incredibly strong taste of fake coconut that I couldn’t taste anything else. It was one big cup of disappointment.

Very strong coconut taste. I like it, but it does not really remind me of Thai tea.

★★★★☆

The smell of the coconut flavoring in the dry tea was a bit much, but upon brewing it mellowed a bit. I liked the addition of the cardamom. This is a pretty good tea, though when I added milk I was disappointed to find that it overwhelmed the flavors. Another reviewer mentioned that their tea reminded them of 'buttered mashed potatoes' and omg, now I can't stop smelling that when I drink this. Anyways, I don't mind that, but it is strange! This is a pretty good tea, but I like stronger spices so I would probably go for a chai instead. Or maybe I'll try blending this with one.

I added a packet of stevia and it was coconut and sweet spice, everything nice! Worth trying! I may get a sample to try more than once.

★★★★★

Very tasty, although given the option I'd go with the extra spices in the Thai Chai.

★★☆☆☆

Dry, the thai tea mix smells artificial at first: the mix of apples, coconut, and honeybush reminds me a bit of cough syrup. Not at all like the dry thai mixes I've gotten from asian markets. Freshly brewed, it smells like . . . buttered mashed potatoes? Excuse me?
I brewed for 3 minutes @ 212.
The tea itself is meh. It's slightly bitter and a bit astringent without a memorable mouthfeel, but I can definitely pick up the coconut flavor in the background. Adding a bit of sugar brings out the coconut quite nicely and cuts out the bitterness, but it also brings out the odd salty potato-ness? I really wish I knew where that was coming from. I tried adding a splash of regular dairy milk, too, but thought it drowned out the coconut flavor.

Notes for 2nd brew (5 min): surprisingly dark for a second brew of a flavored tea; coconut flavor much more present but the other flavors are minimized. more oily mouthfeel.

The aroma when opening the pouch was wonderful. Vanilla and coconut and a little fruit. After brewing, the flavors were almost non-existent though. The tea flavor was quite weak as well. Perhaps it needed a longer brew than 3 minutes? I expect that adding sweetened condensed milk would overwhelm the delicate flavors.

Really good black tea with a nice spice. Very different from thai tea in restaurants, even with sugar and milk added. But I definitely like it and would drink again.

Very Tasty. It's almost like Thai Tea. This is my 2nd favorite tea so far.

The flavor feels as if it's missing an important element of the Thai tea taste you'd find in a restaurant, so I'm a bit disappointed with it. On the other hand, I do appreciate that it has none of the food coloring.
