Very, VERY floral. I like flavorful teas and enjoy this one with a bit of cream to smooth it, but if you're looking for something at all subtle I'd recommend making it into a blend rather than drinking it on its own.
Our Summer Rose tea invokes the sweet lingering fragrance of late summer roses winding up a garden trellis. Mellow and deliciously floral, this rose tea is balanced with the bright briskness of a Ceylon black tea.

Very, VERY floral. I like flavorful teas and enjoy this one with a bit of cream to smooth it, but if you're looking for something at all subtle I'd recommend making it into a blend rather than drinking it on its own.
I absolutely loved it when it was the tea of the day for CommuniTEA so I bought a bag. I love black tea and the rose was a nice addition to make it floral. One of my favorites!
I LOVE this tea! I am a big rose fan. One tip for brewing: don’t brew too long, as the rose flavor will disappear and the tea itself will become bitter.
So floral but not too much to where its overpowering!
A wonderful mellow summery tea. The rose isn't overwhelming it, accents the black tea perfectly.
How many times have I ordered this? Countless. The rose flavor is extremely delicate and makes for the perfect summer cup of tea.
Lovely mellow tea. The rose is prominent yet not overwhelming. I have always enjoyed this hot, but think this would make a nice iced tea as well.
It's really perfume-smelling out of the bag. There's no doubt you're going to get rose flavor. Very intense when you drink it alone, I like to mix it with my other teas, Chamomile gives it different floral tones, Forest Berries cuts through the rose flavor, and it softens Earl Grey a little bit. Depending on what you mix, it doesn't need sweetener, maybe a creamer.
140°F and steeped for 3 min in attempt to avoid making it too astringent and bitter. This made a lovely cup of tea that didn't need any sweetener and the ceylon tea didn't overpower the delicate rose flavor.
This tea looks beautiful and smells nice but I did not taste any rose flavor.
Really nice rose flavor. I was worried it would be too perfume like and ruin the experience but it was perfect, very light and floral. Has a nice finish.
This is a good black tea. Unfortunately for me it lived up to its name as far as the rose was concerned. This made it too perfume-y for my tastes, but would be lovely if you like both black and rose teas.
I've had a bad experience with rose teas in the past so this is rather nasty to me. However I can see how someone who likes the flavor could like it, cause it's definitely there. I brewed it at the White tea setting on the velociTEA and added milk and sugar and it was... Bearable.
Too floral for me, but my husband who loves Earl Gray tea proclaimed it to be delicious and happily finished my cup!
I love rose in tea, so I think this tea is great!
The scent was delicious and this tea delivers. The Rose notes blend so well with the black tea. This will be a favorite.
Loved it! I’m a diehard fan of the “Rosy London Fog” a local coffee shop makes, so I was really excited to see a rose-centered black tea. The initial aroma in the pouch is quite strong, so I can understand how some may find that off-putting. For me, though, upon steeping the tea I was able to enjoy a delicate rose flavor perfect for summertime!
Probably should have checked out the reviews on this one a little more closely. I brewed this at 205°F for 3:30 mins and found the rose flavor a bit more intense than I'd like, with a tendency to sort of cling to the back of my tongue (also found the tea to be too astringent, imo). Tossed some chocolate chips I had in the cupboard into my already-brewed cup in order to cut the rose back enough to want to finish the cup.
Despite saying that, it's not horrendous -- the flavor is thankfully more muted than the smell, and I think it works well in blends -- it's just too much for me on its own.
Though not in a big hurry, I might be willing to pick up a sample pouch at some point in the future to see if I can get nicer results by steeping at lower temperatures/different times.
All-in-all, not great, but not terrible, either. If you're into straight florals, you'll probably like this more than I did.
I am not a fan of rose (the flavor), and this tea only solidified that preference. It was undrinkable for me, and I usually try to drink at least a full cup of any new tea before I decide whether or not I like it.
This tea is perfectly named. Rose floral aroma. Bold black tea finish.
I can taste the rose, but I like it ,had it hot with a slash of almond milk .
I like this tea, it's pleasant not overpowering. I find that the rose fragrance is stronger than the taste. I steeped at 212 for 3 minutes, it's got a beautiful color that reflects the rose petals. I drank this tea with sugar and a little milk, I feel like the cooler it got the better I liked it. I did not really like the tea hot like I normally do. I want to steep this again and ice it, I think it would be better. Very bright notes though, I'd drink it again.
Not my favorite, but not terrible. I found the rose a bit too perfume-y for my tastes. But if you're into floral flavors, you may enjoy this one.
Very floral forward. It’s smells and tastes just like a rose!
I'm not typically a fan of rose in tea. This was just okay, but not a favorite. If you like the taste of roses, this is for you. You can smell the rose immediately when the bag is opened; this tea smells like Bath and Body Works Rose Aromatherapy scent. I can smell it and taste it after a steeping. a little bitter and I myself do not enjoy overtly floral teas and found the rose smell and taste a little strong for me. That in itself would be off-putting even if liked that scent. I do not. I had to hold my breath to convince myself to taste this tea. I took several sips. It's a no from me, literally not my cuppa tea. Overwhelming rose flavor and smell distracts from everything else. However if you love rose hips, strong rose floral flavors you may like this. I only sampled because of the CommuniTEA (July box).
the rose aroma and flavor is realistic, not cloying, more herbal/vegetal than potpourri, and it complements the natural Ceylon flavor very well. I love this one!
I love the taste. The floral notes of the rose go really well with the Ceylon. But this tea, like every other ceylon I've tried, has a really intense drying effect when you finish it. Does everyone else just really enjoy this? I would love the tea if it did not do this.
This was a nice tea for today. I did enjoy it. Not sure I would order it but I would not turn down a cup if offered.
This tea has a really lovely flavor and fragrance. I wasn't sure I'd like it because I've never tried something that was strictly a floral, but it was really nice! The only thing I didn't like was that it left a dry finish I wasn't really prepared for, but maybe a touch of cream would've helped with that (I drink my teas naked usually).
Beautifully scented tea. Well balanced flavor. A sturdy but smooth black tea carries the rose flavor nicely. This would be fun to play around with as a base for making your own blend. I am saving half my tea to steep with some added cardamom.
I found this tea heavy on the black tea and couldn't taste the rose at all. wonder if putting more water to tea would help. I only have a small sample pack from the CommuniTEAS so won't be able to try that but it might help.
I was pleasantly surprised by the balance of this tea. Rose is typically such a mild, delicate flavor while black tea is typically a strong, aggressive flavor. I assumed the black tea would drown the rose and all that would be left was a rose aroma. I was wrong. The rose flavor was wonderfully balanced and quite noticeable with the black tea. Brewed a second time successfully as well.
First off, this tea smells like Bath and Body Works Rose Aromatherapy scent. That in itself would be off-putting even if liked that scent. I do not. I had to hold my breath to convince myself to taste this tea. I took several sips. I let the flavors sit on my tongue. My tongue is now coated in rose scent. I cleansed my palate with a different tea and tossed this one. I'm tempted to give this one star, but I've reserved that for teas that I can't even bring myself to sip.
Overwhelming rose flavor and smell. Distracts from everything else.
Not typically a fan or rose in tea. This was okay, but not a favorite. You can definitely taste and smell the rose. The black tea needs to be steeped slightly less that 200 or it’s a little bitter
If you like the taste of rose and black tea, this is for you. I myself do not enjoy floral teas and found the rose smell and taste a little strong for me.
I did not like this tea , the rose scent was overwhelming to me
I think I overstepped this as the black tea was a little bitter, however the rose flavour seemed to work well. Subtle and not over powering.
A great rose flavor that’s not overpowering, and the black tea makes it unexpectedly dark and full-bodied.
First off I was a bit wary to try this tea - Rose is a difficult flavor to balance. I always try my tea without any sweetener first. The rose flavour was a bit mild, until I added honey which brought the rose to the front. Still, I wasn t in love, so I added a splash of whole milk, wonderful! This is quite good and reminds me of spring.
I bought my mother the Motherhood tea sampler blend this year, and as a thank you she dropped a few spoonfuls of each variety into a Ziploc and mailed them to me in one of her regular care packages. My runaway favorite was the Love blend, a mix of summer rose and cream teas with sprinkles. When it came time to place my regular monthly communiTEA box order, I threw in a 3 oz bag of the plain summer rose plus another 3 oz bag of the cream black tea, and now I mix them 50-50 for myself when I want a cup similar to the Love blend. I ordinarily put 1.5-2 tsps of tea in my double-walled mug, since it has a 12 oz capacity, but this blend is so strong that I recommend backing down to 1 tsp of mix instead. It's powerful enough to stand up to multiple steeps, as well. Delightful!
This is my new favorite. A lovely and mellow cup with the incredible aroma of rose and flavor of summer in the back yard. I highly recommend it.
This tea is beautiful. The rose is spot on, not soapy or perfume-like at all. I loved it hot and I can't wait to try it iced with a touch of sugar!
Not terrible, but a decent rose tea. The floral notes start leaning in the direction of feeling like perfume if you let it go a little too long, but it's not too bad.
Loved this tea with my breakfast. Adds a twist to regular old plain black tea.
The rose flavor was a lot stronger than I expected, but mellowed out very nicely with added milk and sugar. Wish it had a little bergamot added in too!
This tea was quite mediocre. First tea ive had with roses. ok every one in a while. Would not buy again.
fantastic would get any time of the year just for fun.
This works really well as a cold brew! Steeped in cold / room temperature water overnight.
This is a nice black tea with a subtle rose flavor. The flavor isn't as pronounced as some other rose teas I've tried.
