This smell sweet and inviting. The taste is malty with burnt caramel and delicious. My stomach is a bit sensitive to the extracts used so I won't have this on an empty stomach again but will definitely enjoy later in the day.
Blended for slow sipping, this black tea has notes of vanilla, malt, and a hint of smoke from the bourbon barrel.

Sorry, this one is not for me. I loved the way it smelled, when I opened my ComminuTEA packet. Unfortunately, I don't like Lapsang tea (WAY too smoky), so this is a big Nope!
This mimics bourbon so well, I almost couldn’t believe it! My husband is a scotch lover, so he said it was nice, but didn’t really compare to the real thing. However, I found it a great substitute for the dry drinker.
could not get beyond the smoky flavor. this is a favorite if my friends, but not for me.
an interesting mix of complex flavors, this is a tea you want to sit and sip slowing and take it all in
wow!! it smells just like a bourbon!! a delicious blend for when I need an extra boost of caffeine!!
To make Iced Tea I use 2/3 Kentucky Bourbon Tea and 1/3 Lapsang Souchong. Put in fridge overnight. The extra smokiness adds to the flavor.
I ordered a sample of this as it piqued my interest... it was absolutely worth it, It was a fantastic tea almost dessert like in flavor, a bit apple heavy on the flavor but overall very enjoyable and I'm likely to buy more next time I order
I have a great recipe for Bourbon Fudge and now a great tea to go with it. The bourbon flavor is subtle and just enough to taste it without being over powering.
So rich and comforting on a chilly night!!! Love the
Smoky hint with bourbon in a tea! Great gift!!!
I found the smell thoroughly unpleasant. The taste accompanying the smell was similarly unappealing, an oddly funky flavor. To be honest I wasn't sure what I was expecting. Definitely not for me.
Could drink this all day; great on its own, but lifted by a little maple syrup. Held it's own in a latte which may or may not have contained a bit of Irish cream as well.
This tea is perfect for what it is.
With that being said, I cannot drink it because I'm conditioned to the boozy smell; I feel like a kid drinking an o'duals!
Nice black tea with bourbon flavor. I don’t drink it much but my roommate LOVES it.
I wasn't sure what to think of this one. It tasted good, but really different. It wasn't bad but I think it's too bold for me.
I don't like flavored teas. That said, I can't seem to get enough of this one. I can't really put my finger on the reason.I find myself going back to this one alot. Smoky, medium full with a nice aftertaste I like. No one was more surprised than I. My ordering history will show my admiration for this tea. Not even expensive. Black tea lovers, take a chance on this one!!
This is an interesting blend. Sweet candy apple aroma out of the packet. Strong black tea with mild sweet and smoky notes.
The actual flavor of the tea is lovely, a bit more floral than I prefer, but a nice cup of tea. However, I cannot get past the overwhelming bubblegum smell. It permiates everything, despite being in a tight container, the entire cabinet with my teas reeks of bubble-gum. I am trying to get through it as fast as possible so that I don't have to deal with the smell that destroys any enjoyment of anything near it.
OMG is is an amazing black flavored tea. It smells very whiskey barrel before the brew. Once brewed it does not lose any wonderful smell or flavor. A repurchase for sure.
This may be my new favorite! As soon as I finished the first cup, I immediately made a second, and that’s not something I usually do. It’s smooth and cozy, with rose hips adding a subtle brightness
Had to buy this one since I live in Kentucky! The liquor taste seems is not too strong and this makes a well balanced latte. Delicious!
This is one of my husband's favorite teas - I've bought it for him twice now. It has a lovely smoky caramel flavor, and the smell is spot on - it really does smell like bourbon (the leaves do, anyway - a bit less so when it's brewed).
Love this tea. One of my very favorites! My husband drinks Manhattans, so maybe that's why I love it! :)
A bit too much of the 'smoky' flavor for me. This tea was too bitter for my taste. Not even putting in honey helped.
This had a lot of ingredients I like, but the smokiness was really overpowering. I don't think I'll try it again.
Oh gosh this one just wasn't for me. The bourbon taste is...all in the nose? It's smells strong; it doesn't taste very good.
Actually pretty good flavor. goes great with maple syrup or brown sugar. Could be used to blend something nice
Bought as a gift for my brother in law who is a whiskey and a tea lover. I'm glad I was able to find something so unique!
This was so good as a sampler that I went ahead and purchased more within a week. The taste is smooth and the olfactory satisfaction is off the charts!
This tea is absolutely delicious. Will definitely purchase again.
This really does taste and smell like bourbon--I was pretty surprised at how potent the taste was. I enjoyed it most sipped with cream in the evening.
I don’t know why I keep doing this. I am not a fan of smoky teas, or smoky anything really. But I keep trying out flavored teas with it because the idea sounds so appealing.
The dry leaf smells kinda like . . . unsweetened powered Kool-aid mix (the kind where you had to add your own sugar) that had spent a number of days beside a fire. That made me a bit nervous.
The steeped tea smells like smoke. It tastes of whiskey so much that I had to double check there was no alcohol in the ingredients list. It even has that similar bite I would get from alcohol, though in a much more mild fashion. Oh, and it tastes like smoke.
I think there is some astringency though its difficult for me to tell if this is the whiskey flavoring or the tea base. This makes it seem harsher of a drink than I would normally desire.
On second steep its pretty much just the same, maybe a tad weaker.
Overall, I’m not a fan. The smoke is too much as is the whiskey. But honestly I just didn’t have high expectations given my preferences.
Strong smoke but wonderful mix with another black tea for a lovely after dinner tea. I also like to use in making mocktails for the holidays by steeping for concentrate then adding in lieu of bourbon for friends that don't drink.
A very pleasant tea. I was able to brew with the same leaves 3-4 different times and got pleasant tea each time. It reminded me of a vanilla flavored tea from Adagio that I had in the past.
I was a little nervous to try this one but I was pleasantly surprised with the flavor. I really don’t like the flavor of bourbon but I did enjoy this tea. I could definitely taste the hints of vanilla and caramel.
I couldn't place this flavor at first but then again I'm not a bourbon drinker. After I sweetened it the flavors were very good and this one grew on me. I even brewed a second cup.
Gave as a gift so no info on the taste personally but the person I gave it to enjoyed it. May try it down the line
I’m not a fan of actual bourbon, but I really enjoy this tea. It’s just a bit fruity in a hard-to-pin-down way. Delicious.
Not that great hot, but makes a really good iced tea Not that great hot, but makes a really good iced tea Not that great hot, but makes a really good iced tea Not that great hot, but makes a really good iced tea
Can't say I particularly liked this. It's almost like a hot toddy, but something is just off that I can't quite place.
I really enjoyed drinking this tea, especially once it had cooled down and I had added more sweetener. I love a little of the lapsang smokiness and the whiskey, caramel, and cocoa flavors. I steeped with sugar and got a second steep later in the day that was weaker but was a great accompaniment to some ginger snaps.
First time trying this blend. I enjoyed it very much.
This is deliciously decadent when mixed 50/50 with Rooibos Nutcracker. My new favorite!
The flavor's nice, it's perfect to sip on while working on something. The smell is also very, very nice!
Personally, I'm not a big fan of this tea, but that's because I don't particularly care for bourbon. My friend and her husband do, however, and when I sent a portion in a package, they really enjoyed it, so much so that I decided to purchase a 3oz package as a gift for them. I know they will really enjoy it.
It's fine, it doesn't really taste like bourbon though! I mainly just get apple from it, kind of artificial apple (you can see in the ingredients it's listed as 'candy apple flavor', which explains it). There is a sharp edge, which I presume is the 'whiskey flavoring' also listed.
I love this tea. One of the best lapsang blends out there. All the essence of bourbon without the hangover. Whiskey and vanilla taste. Easily the best of the cocktail teas.
This is up there on my favorites list. It's authentic, smooth, and sweet. A favorite tea for me to drink while unwinding, and tastes like how it sounds.
So good. Smooth and just the right hit of Bourbon flavor. Ordered a second bag after tasting it. Make sure you reuse the leaves for a second full batch.
I am not a bourbon drinker and usually drink the chocolate teas, but decided to try this new autumn tea. I really enjoyed the flavors as they blended together in this dark tea . Will be adding it to one of my favorites.
