I love this tea. The smell when it is brewing is amazing. It reminds me of ski lodges and fireplaces.

★★★★★

A favorite black tea~ the aroma is so good! Reminds me of the bourbon trail! The tea is lovely and I prefer it with lemon and honey! A good solid morning tea

★★★★★

I was not sure if I would enjoy. Very smooth taste.

Opening the package the aroma was sensational. Tried it at 212 3 mins, found most of the flavor was missing Tried a second cup at 195, everything blended very well together

The flavor is wonderful...best Kentucky Bourbon tea I've ever had.

Good stuff with moderate .caffeine. I made it by seeping 1.5 teaspoons of tea at 212 degrees for three minutes. One of my current favortive teas!

Wow this one is different! Definitely has that bourbon scent, although the taste of the tea isn’t something id have in constant rotation.

For some reason I thought it had a hint of bourbon but the aroma and taste are so unique it gives you the remarence of having a shot of whiskey

I was curious to try this tea even though I am not a fan of Bourbon. I do enjoy the aroma and this was surprisingly fun. I have it on occasion and offer it to guests.

★★★★★

If you are a fan of bourbon (from a smoked barrel), you'll love this tea. The smokiness really stands out. One of a kind flavor!

★☆☆☆☆

Definitely not my cup of tea. Pun intended. It has a very strong smoke smell and flavor. Couldn’t get past that.

This is not a bad blend at all just not as strong as I thought it would be. I will keep drinking but I do not think I will reorder.

★★★★☆

I like this for a fall cuppa. By itself or with some cream is nice. I also sometimes add a touch of maple syrup for even more depth.

With no sugar I tasted lapsang souchong, I thought it was really cool to me how it coated my mouth but with sugar I still taste that but it was like a little bit of whiskey and a little bit of candy apple at the end but the second steep I tasted more of the candy apple the vanilla in like the hint of the lapsang souchong at the end in this blend. Overall to me if you're into extremely savory, complex but unique teas you absolutely love this overall for me this gets a 8.5/9 out of 10 and it's something I'll get again! My tea heart was so satisfied when I was drinking this 🥺

this is my new morning brew. it not so much a tea as a beverage of rich aromas and smooth taste. i add a bit of raw honey to round out the flavor. I'll be reordering this one.

Kentucky Bourbon is a bold, smoky black tea blend with layers of complexity. You get hints of malt, oak barrel smoke, caramel, roasted apple, and soft vanilla—all without actual alcohol. The Lapsang adds a subtle campfire smokiness, but it’s balanced, not overwhelming. It’s the tea equivalent of a cozy cabin evening or a relaxing porch moment in the summer. Fantastic hot, and surprisingly excellent iced with mint for a fresh twist. Perfect for fans of deep, rich, savory teas.

I am pleasantly surprised at how smooth this Kentucky Bourbon tea is. A great evening cup for me when I choose not to indulge from the bottle. I found adding a tsp. of Maple Syrup brought out the flavor of the bourbon even better!

★★★☆☆

Not for me. I was hesitant already upon opening the bag and being overwhelmed with a strong sour apple scent that was a little odd with the scent of the scent of the tea itself, but I figured I would give a go anyway. It might have just been my batch but the sour apple was so much stronger than any other flavor; if I thought about it as I sipped, I could taste a savory, malty smokiness that was rather pleasant, but the scent of the apple threw me off. It was fine, just not for me.

I truly can't get enough of this one! Neither can my husband!

This might be a personal preference but I felt that it was too sweet (in an artificial/synthetic tasting way) and not smoky enough. I added extra lapsang souchong to balance it out and found it more enjoyable. I would prefer sweetness from the addition of honeybush tea or other flavorings instead of candy apple because it had too artificial/synthetic of a taste for me.

★★★★☆

Very solid tea that definitely has a bourbon flavor to it. Has that hint of bourbon warmth that you would expect. A little sweet which I like, but may not be for everyone. Definitely a nice change of pace from my normal daily chestnut.

Was a good tea, probably one of my favorite if not the best so far. I always make my tea from my boiling pot. Sit overnight in pot. Then Boil for 5 mins. 1 liter add1liter of ice

Fun blend. The bourbon feels a bit daring to drink at work, but has a lovely, subtle flavor

So this one didn't have to do a lot for me to like it as I love keemun concerto and lapsang souchong and it has them both. Concerto brings some nice malty notes and the lapsang brings that strong smoke flavor to this blend. The vanilla and Cocoa nobs bring a good subtle sweet combo in as well. It really does have a bourbon flavor and it gets stronger on the cool down. I didn't pick up the rose hips and I am not well acquainted with the candy apple enough to say how much of a presence it has in this one. Glad I got to try this one with CT it was very interesting. 212° 3 min

I have a hard time with smoky teas personally, but this is otherwise okay.

I liked this, a definitely distinct flavor, some chocolatey notes, some sweetness, some subtle tartness, a smooth smokey factor underlying throughout... I really enjoyed the unique flavor!

Update 8/14/25, I really liked this tea second time around, can’t really put my finger on why, not as smoky as I remember, and the sweetness was really upfront.

Not really what I expected but perhaps I should have, as I opened the package all I thought was pipe tobacco, at first sip it was like a mellow lapsang with an added sweetness, not really what I prefer but drinkable

CommuniTEA sample: 3 min @ 212 F. I'm not a huge bourbon aficionado, but I do like it, and I sometimes drink non-alcoholic bourbon. This tea reminds me a lot of the non-alcoholic bourbon, I'm very shocked with how close it smells and tastes! Very impressive how they pulled it off, and overall, it's a very tasty blend! I do feel that non alcoholic bourbon is a little off and sweet tasting, and this tea feels very similar, I think a little bit of alcohol helps cut through all of that. And, it's close enough to the flavor of bourbon, that I don't want to sit around and drink a mug of this, I feel like that's too much! I'm not really sure how I would serve this, since it seems so close in flavor, but I’d need to make a bunch of mocktails for multiple people or something to use a whole cup of this, since I’m not sure I want to feel like I’m drinking 6oz of bourbon!

I tend to be iffy with apple flavoring in drinks, but the roasted apple flavor blended quite well with the vanilla, caramel, and the smokiness of the lapsang souchong and it felt like they were taking turns as I sipped instead of jostling for attention. This was quite a treat!

I don’t like it anymore who knows what happened. Maybe this batch just very bourbon-y

Update June 2024: I like it a lot more who knows why.

so I'm amazed that adagio made a tea that smells exactly like bourbon, and tastes a lot like it too! I think though that I don't want a tea that tastes like bourbon.

I took a chance on this one because I don't usually like that really smoky taste but it's just subtle enough that I can still enjoy the tea.

It is a hit or miss with most. I like the vanilla, cocoa nibs, and whiskey flavor but it may be the tea blend that I don't like. I usually think about drinking a nice barrel aged bourbon from the aroma of this infusion. Not always a go to for me.

The smell of the apple flavoring is overwhelming, I think I would rename this smoky Carmel candy apple

Has an excellent flavor, and I love it iced or hot with a touch of vanilla syrup. Perfect for a cozy rainy day

A good blend of flavors in this tea! It's smooth, smoky, and a bit sweet.

I have found that I am not a lapsang souchong tea person. It is way too smoky of a flavor, in my opinion. The tea is good, just not my thing.

★★☆☆☆

Started off nice, but the candy apple at the finish really just threw me off. I had such high hopes, but it just doesn't do it for me.

★★★★★

Not at all what I expected!! Wowza! It has a tad bit of barrel smoke, apple and vanilla flavors to it. My Saturday morning extra large cup of go- to!!

I have never had bourbon before and wanted to try it. It was okay. I guess it is not my favorite drink.

★★★★★

This is one of my go-to favorites. It works well as both a hot tea and sun brewed ice-tea. I happily anticipate the pleasant vanilla and bourbon smell each time I open the jar. It's a great black tea if you want something milder than an Earl Grey.

I live in Kentucky and this is a remarkable tea. Bold and flavorful - yes to Bourbon! This quickly became one of my favorites. And I occasionally add Bourbon for a smoother beverage.

This is good but odd. It's definitely closer to a bourbon flavor than any other 'bourbon' tea I've tried, with oaky notes up front and a little sweetness on the end, but there's an unexpected savory-umami note in the middle. It's not *bad* and I find it intriguing, but it's kind of jarring, since it means the other flavors don't flow smoothly. I might try this mixed with some vanilla to get a flavor that's a little more balanced toward sweet-floral. I do like this and plan to buy again.

I had my doubts about this because I like bourbon. However, I was surprisingly delighted with the taste.
Love this tempting taste of FUN!!!

I love this blend. It's rich and smoky but is balanced nicely by a hint of floral, fruity sweetness. I use in it several blends at home and it's great!

Among my absolute favorite black teas. To be fair, it tastes nothing like bourbon, (Not even slightly) but the caramel notes are perfect for this tea, and I’ve had more than a few weekends where I’ve made many cups throughout the day.
