Warming Ceylon black tea with fresh, cozy spices and orange. Zesty with a sweet finish.

Its nice has a comfortable warmth to it reminds me of a chai? i would not recommend over steeping as may become bitter
This is nice but the flavors are a little weak. I expect for a tea called 'Christmas' to have a robust profile of the holiday season.
The tea has a rich, bold flavor with a hint of spice from the cloves and a citrusy tang from the orange peel. The aroma is invigorating, with the warm and spicy scents of cloves and the refreshing citrus scent of orange. The tea is perfect for the holiday season, and the combination of flavors makes it a perfect drink for cold winter evenings. The tea leaves are of high quality and infuse well, resulting in a rich and satisfying brew. The tea is also perfect to serve as a warm drink with a slice of orange as a garnish which would take the tea to another level. Overall, I highly recommend this tea to any tea lover looking for a festive and flavorful twist on traditional black tea.
Love this for a festive tea, but I like it all winter as well. I also gave this to a friend and she loved it.
My favorite spices combined into a wonderful tea! I enjoyed this all throughout the month of December. A delightfully comfortable blend of seasonal happiness right in your cup!
This tea for me is like a warm blanket on the cold day. The smell is warm spices. The tea itself is not overpowered but the hints of clove and orange and cardamom come together the make a balance. It is excellent with nothing added. I was unsure if being called Christmas would mean I would finding it cloying or gimmicky and was hesitant to try it. In fact, it makes a lovely cup of tea.
I wish I had discovered this in November before the holidays. I bought a sample a few days ago on a whim, and was completely captivated by the aroma and how it evoked the holidays. My wife loved it, too, and we will make sure we order plenty next year in time for Thanksgiving and Christmas. A home run. Instructions called for 3 minutes at 212 and I thought that was a tad weak. I steeped a second cup for 5 minutes and I think it brought out some more of the spice flavors. I'll try 4 minutes next and decide which I like best.
Tasted about equal to the other cinnamon-focused teas Adagio has on offer, the spice tends to overpower whatever else is in the blend. (Cold brewed for 10 hours)
I don't really care for this by itself. It's mainly orange & spices which I don't like together as main flavors. In order to use the bag up I tried mixing it with other teas. Today I mixed it half & half with a nutty almond cream tea and added cream & honey, it was actually very good this way. This might make me consider rebuying.
Christmas in a cup. The perfect balance of sweetness from the orange peel. A little sugar really made the flavors come through.
This tea is absolutely delicious. Will definitely purchase again.
As much as I wanted to love this tea, the beautiful aroma gives way to a somewhat bitter, harsh finish that just doesn't fit my personal palate.
This tea goes perfectly with my Speculaas Cookies. The spices is the cookies and the tea blend beautifully.
I wasn’t sure that I liked it at first, but I kept trying it and I love it now. Kind of tastes like my chai teas
This is perfect for the holiday season! I enjoyed the nutty flavor it has and pairs nicely with Christmas cookies!
We love this one. It has a wonderful aroma and a sort of chocolate-y orange flavor. Very nice, and more spicy than fruity.
This tea smells just like Christmas, but is not for those who aren't a big fan of spiced teas. The spice flavors and smells are very strong.
Oh how I love this tea, no matter what time of year. Sure, the festive spice and orange flavor will get you right into the holiday spirit, but who says it has to be December for festive fun? It's a lovely morning pick-me-up.
I saw the comparison to constant comment and while they’re in the same family, they’re not identical. Christmas is smoother and more mellow, while constant comment is spicier. The flavors are more blended in this tea. I get warm, cozy orange with a background of Christmas spices.
Fantastic tea—this is one of my holy grail teas that I always find myself reaching for. This is great for Year round actually—not just the winter months.
CommuniTEA review:
When I opened the packet I could smell a warm aroma of spices that kinda reminded me of making potpourri pies growing up. However when I tasted this tea it just tasted like plain black tea. That is nit a bad thing since I like black tea, it was just a little disappointing to me. I put some gingerbread cookie dough coffee creaming in it and it tasted divine!
This is an orangey and spiced favorite tea of mine. So cozy!
This was a nice Christmas tea. The cloves were not over powering and blended well. I really enjoyed it.
This is a delicious and spicy tea that tastes perfect for Christmas morning! I especially liked the lingering aftertaste of this tea. I steeped at 190 degrees for 4 minutes and sweetened it a bit.
Was really looking forward to this but like some of the other black teas this month it just tasted like black tea. Brewed per instructions.
Nice and cozy, well balanced blend of orange and spices.
Lovely way to start a Christmas morning. I shared a cup with my daughter who has recently showed an interest in learning about teas. A very pleasant smell came out of the sample pouch as soon as I opened it. I drank mine black, but added a little milk to my daughter’s cup since she said it tasted bitter to her. She definitely enjoyed it better with milk. I look forward to trying the other teas in my sample pack this week. Thank you!
A very Christmas tea. It’s like a combination of orange spice and chai, very traditional. Slightly bitter and very clove-y before cream and sugar. Sugar added brought out the orange and dulled the spices a bit. With the addition of cream it became a very well rounded holiday tea.
a festive tea with a lot of personality ! nicely spiced and very cozy
A lovely blend. Makes a great latte. I really like the cinnamon and cloves with the hint of orange.
Cinnamon and orange, two flavors I would've never thought to put together on my own that I find go quite nicely. Made for a soothing sip while unwrapping presents with family.
This was a delicious blend of spices! Perfect for Christmas day.
CommuniTEA portion: 195 for 3 minutes. Aroma of Christmas indeed! Nice spiced sip with notes of chocolate and maybe some orange. Merry cup!
True story, this was one of the first teas I ever bought from Adagio back in 2012. It came in a small square tin and I treasured it, drinking it only around Christmas time. It tastes a little different than I remember, but the aroma transports me back to my college days back in my hometown and reminds me of warmth, family, and good times. The spice isn't overwhelming and there isn't an 'in your face' kick of orange. It's well balanced and warming.
This Christmas tea incorporates so many seasonal flavors into one cup.
I was first introduced to this tea in the advent calendar. It was warm and spicy and wonderful. Though it could use just a touch more spice.
Tastes exactly like Bigelow's Constant Comment to me. That is by no means a bad thing. A very average black tea with hints of spice and orange.
Today's CommuniTea is the eponymously named Christmas, with black tea, cinnamon, orange, cardamom, cloves, ginger, and spice, ginger and cinnamon flavors. I didn't see any cardamom, which I love, so I added two pods. Really nice and flavorful. :-) Brewed in 12 ounces of 200-degree water for three minutes.
UPDATED from 12/25/21: The aroma of spices escapes from the CommuniTEA packet this holiday morning. Ahh, what a comforting smell. It steeps (using a lower temp than recommended) into an amber color, and all the spices joyfully fill my mouth with no bitterness. The strong cinnamon, ginger, clove, and cardamom combine in a chorus of caroling, and with a hint of orange, this is Christmas in a cup. I add ½
teaspoon of sweetener (to 10 oz) and some heavy whipping cream and not only do they soften the spices, but they allow the dark chocolate to sing out. I add a dash of vanilla, and sprinkle cinnamon on top, and the cup rings out a delightful “We Wish You a Merry Christmas!” ( 3 mins @ 200F + sweetener and cream).
A winter spiced tea perfect for sipping on Christmas morning. Nice blend of flavors with no flavor outshining the others.
In the bag: Mostly Ceylon. Two mid-sized hunks or orange rind. Several small bits of cinnamon bark. A few tiny cardamom seeds.
On the nose (pre-steep): A rich scent of warming spices. Cloves dominate as they usually do. I also detect cinnamon and ginger. As they usually do in blends with these kinds of spices, orange and Ceylon have gotten lost behind their spicy sisters.
On the nose (post-steep): That spicy combo is still here, but it has simmered down. Clove remains detectable but the rest of the scent is a general warming spice flavor. In addition, if I sniff real hard, I get the classic bitter dark chocolate notes of Ceylon underlying the Spice Show.
On the tongue (pre-sweetener): The additives are nearly gone. If I tasted this blind I would likely guess it's a naked Ceylon. I get the barest hint of spices, but probably because I'm looking for it. Only a smidge of bitterness.
On the tongue (post-sweetener): No change.
Opinion: A tea with a charming scent but one that tastes merely decent. I'm a fan of flavored blacks but am spending this Christmas wishing this black had more flavor on the tongue.
Preparation: 3 min @ 195 ℉, ½ tsp monk fruit sweetener
A nice Spiced tea with hints of orange, cardamom and clove. A good not great tea that I am fine with once a year. A lot lot better than Oriental Spice as it is more restrained. Merry Christmas all.
Haiku Review:
Christmas spices shine
Twinkling like lights on a tree
In a strong black tea!
Most enjoyable!
As it goes well with cookies
And blends well with cream!

Having this tea by the Christmas tree on Christmas morning - I felt like I was having gingerbread cookies in my mug. No complaints here!
I am middle of the road in regard to this tea. It may have been due to the mix in my packet, but the orange and cinnamon were completely overpowered by cloves. I had to add some non-dairy creamer and Black Tea Honey to tame it down. Second brew was better. I steeped at 195 for three minutes and then four minutes.
This is a nice black tea chai but I don't get any orange. I mostly get ginger and clove with a bit of cinnamon. Added oat milk and maple syrup.
12.25.22 This year's blend was quite tasty. The base tea wasn't bitter, even with a long steep. Had a nice light astringency and solid flavor. The spice was mostly clove in my cup, with just a touch of cinnamon. A nice blend for a cold morning.
12.25.20 Nice, lighter spice flavors in this. Not one flavor dominates which is nice. I don't really care for the base tea though. Brewed as directed it was quite bitter and a bit too astringent for me.
This tea has a nice amount of spice and isn't overwhelmingly strong. It brewed a bit flat for me, not very astringent or crisp, when I brewed it in filtered tap water trying to get more character out of the black tea. With spring water it is sharper but overpowers the spice a bit more. It is deep and malty with a smooth, lingering mouth feel, but as a tea for Christmas morning, I prefer more vibrant blends from other vendors.
UPDATED: Christmas CT December 25, 2025
This tea remains just an okay tea for me. I forgot to add the cinnamon candies which would probably have upped the zing factor a little. I really did want to like this more, but it remains a solid 3 for me.
Christmas 3 stars

Recommended Steep 3 minutes @ 212*
I really wanted to like this tea, but it was a near miss. Upon opening the packet, a pleasant, moderate aroma of spices was noted. Visually the tea was a very dark black. I am uncertain if all the ingredients were present as the tea was too dark to make a good assessment. I steeped the tea at 190*F in 12 oz of water and sweetened with 2 tsp of tea sugar in an attempt to stave off any bitterness. In this I was successful. There was very little, if any bitterness.
I let the tea set for a couple of minutes before sipping. Cinnamon was the flavor that jumped out at me first, followed by a mild black tea taste. I had difficulty identifying any other flavors as they seemed to be hidden in the background. This was pleasant enough tea, but is not a favorite for me. I expected a little more zing in a Christmas tea…maybe a little more cinnamon or something, and I would have liked it to be a bit stronger. Still, for someone who would like some bite, but not a lot, this might be the tea for them. It also might benefit from the addition of a few cinnamon candies added during the steeping time.
I really enjoy this tea. The contents in my packet were a good representation of all the spices and flavors included in this tea. I feel that the blend was very well done, and it’s a nice cozy sip on a chilly day.
