When I first poured the hot water over the tea, it smelled like burnt sugar. It quickly goes away. The caramel scent is very subtle and the taste is even less detectable. I'm definitely going to have to blend this with other teas or add milk and sugar next time.
This tea is excellent. The scent was almost overwhelming when I first opened the bag and it translated into a rich caramel taste upon brewing. The first steep is fantastic with a splash of dairy for texture and the second has less caramel, but the brightness of the Ceylon shows up more for a different, but still delightful, taste.
A little too sweet and thick for my liking, but I did enjoy the buttery aftertaste.

This didn't do a whole lot for me. By itself anyway. I LOVE blends with caramel added but alone it was a little fake. A true caramel flavor just wasn't there. I can't describe it really. It was just off. I'd have given it 2 stars but the fact that I enjoy it in blends gave it a 3.
Upon first opening the bag my thoughts were that it smelled quite a bit like raisins, which put me off trying it for a couple of days. When brewed the raisiny smell mellows out into more of a burnt-sugar scent. Here's another tea you want to be very careful not to over-steep. It does taste like caramel, or the kind of caramel syrup you often find in coffee shops. I like it best with a splash of cream and a spoonful of sugar. All in all, this is a pretty good tea. I'd love to try it with some fresh sugar cookies or oatmeal scotchies.
The caramel flavor is mellow, but it's not too sweet which was a nice surprise. I was afraid of it being sweet or artificial tasting, and it was neither. It was a very nice tea.
This tea has a wonderful aroma and an even better full bodied taste. I steeped it for the full 5 minutes, but it got a little bit bitter towards the bottom of the cup. I might try to steep it for less time next time.
The caramel flavoring is a bit heavy. I don't know if I'll drink it on its own, as I'm not huge on dessert teas, but it's okay when mixed with some of Adagio's other flavored blacks.
This tea tastes just like a caramel candy square, although the flavor is very weak, in my opinion. Next time I will try steeping it longer, but I think I'll also try pairing it with other teas.
This black tea is wonderful. I also mix it with the coconut black tea for an even more flavorful experience.

This is the very first flavored tea I tried, and was very pleasantly surprised! I usually stay away from added flavors to perfectly fine foods, but this is a very nice change of pace. It's subtle and satisfying.
I expected a stronger caramel flavor, but it was a bit softer than i expected with more of the tea featured then the flavor. It's very nice, very soft. Would be fantastic with blending.

Nice smooth tea. A great blend to mix with chocolate and/or cream. Not my very first choice on its own, but still a very solid cup if you choose to do so. I love it with cream and amber sugar.
Not quite what I expected, but still very good. You can smell the caramel as soon as you open the bag, but there isn't a caramel flavor so much as a caramel after taste after you brew the tea. I tried adding some milk, which was very good, but still didn't bring out the caramel. Then again, I'm used to green teas and sweet things, so my opinion is a bit biased.
smells really good, but didn't give quite at much flavor as I was hoping for. I would recommend blending with the hazelnut ceylon- the flavors complement each other well.
Caramel has such a wonderful flavor behind it. It has a powerful aroma and flavor to match. I warn on the side of caution when steeping this tea for longer periods of time. I tend to steep around 2.5 minutes and have wonderful flavor
This tea is smooth and smells great. It's a nice mix with other teas as well.
This tea smells great dry, like buttery, creamy fleur de sel caramels. I had high expectations, but thankfully I only bought a sample in the end.. After steeping, there's only the barest hint of cream scent. And as for the taste, it may as well just be plain Ceylon tea (with perhaps a ghost of natural sweetness). Not terrible-tasting, but I wouldn't say it had any flavor other than that of black tea. Not even milk or sweetener helped.

Very sweet and fragrant. Brewed this one for a little less than 3 minutes so the flavor wouldn't be overpowered. Definitely needs a bit of cream and sugar to make it great.
I think it smells more like caramel than it tasted, and I'm struggling to taste the difference between this and the cream flavor. I think I'd like more of a burnt flavor. They're both good, but I'd be hard-pressed to figure which is which.

the flavor by itself was not what I was expecting, it was a bit like caramel vapor rather than flavor. But I added a bit of vanilla creamer and it was much richer.

To my taste, flavored teas tend to have a chemical taint. The reviews for caramel tea were so good, I gave it a try. While I find it less objectionable than most, it still lacked a natural flavor.

For black tea, it would get a good rating. For a flavored tea, it is bad. I couldn't taste even a hint of caramel, even with a little sweetener to help bring it out!!!

Great smell and full flavored taste. The tea and slightly sweet toffee flavors sit together well (neither seems to be predominant). I think this would make a good dessert tea.
