I wanted to like this one more but I just could not get around the Ceylon’s bitterness. I tried lower temp and time, even tried a second steep, but it was still there. The first few sips ,while it was still hot, had a nice blueberry flavor but as it cooled the bitterness came out. Ceylon is just not my cuppa I guess.

An incredibly fruity, bright and delicious tea that plays incredibly well with cream, so you almost feel like you're drinking a blueberry dessert.

The CommuniTEA packet for the day smelled like blueberries, my favorite! I planned to steep for 3 minutes, but missed the time window to pull the basket out, so it steeped for the full 5 minutes at 212°F. Initially wary about the raspberry leaves being too bitter, I took a sip and was pleasantly surprised. No bitterness!
The decaf Ceylon must be helping to avoid this one being overly bitter or bold. It's actually nicely brisk while still being smooth and mild.
Blueberry flavors and aromas permeate each sip, backed up by the raspberry leaves to create a nice flavorful experience. The Ceylon provides malty and chocolate flavors, with a very mild astringency in the finish.
Overall, this was a wonderful surprise with blueberry flavors throughout each sip. The decaf Ceylon has a nice lower caffeine level and less bitterness, which makes this one hard to oversteep.

Here are some things you need to know before you read the rest of this review so that you can take what I say with a robust grain of salt:
1) I have ADHD, and as such caffeine does not have an energizing effect on me the way it does on neurotypical people. If anything, it has a soothing effect. I can (and will) regularly drink large amounts of caffeine at night and then immediately go to bed and sleep like a baby.
2) I always drink black teas with milk, honey, and a little bit of baking soda to reduce the acidity. Always.
Ok so now, in that context, I can say that at first I was really disappointed by this tea. Because I don't drink decaf anything, ever, on the rare occasions when I do drink it there is a noticeable difference in flavor. So yeah, the tea just tasted... less. I gave it a 'meh' response in the CommuniTEA.
However, as the tea cooled, the flavor started to come out more, and now - with milk, honey, and a teensy bit a baking soda, remember - it tastes a lot like blueberry cobbler. It's growing on me. I'd like to try it iced, maybe.
All in all, I understand and appreciate the necessity for decaf teas, because neurotypicals want the option to be able to drink teas at night, but they're never going to be my go-to teas. They simply don't taste as good to me.
But this is a pretty dang good tea, despite being decaf, and if there is a caffeinated version of this tea I could see myself becoming a huge fan of it as an iced tea, or even an iced tea latte!

Not bad; has a bit of astringency. It is a pleasant tea but not one I would crave regularly.

After a crazy busy week, this Communitea packet of decaf blueberry was delightful. There was just a hint of fruit flavor that was enhanced by a bit of sweetener. Due to its lack of caffeine, when hot this tea really soothed my soul.

Fresh blueberries, strawberries, and bananas can be found year-round in our fruit bowl. They’re my husband’s go-to fruits and decorate his daily Snoqualmie Falls waffles drenched with tree-tapped syrup. I joined his waffle fest this a.m. and sipped CT’s Decaf Blueberry tea. Why not? It’s all in the berry family along with Honeybush Blueberry Pancake found in our pantry. I swapped my much-needed caff kick for this yummy Decaf Blueberry this morning. Workhorse raspberry with its leaves of green kicked up the berry flavor in this tasty blend. The bright and tangy Ceylon tea base, although decaffeinated, gave the berry flavor a nice heft of taste to satisfy this black tea lover.
My CT packet had 3 g/ 2 tsp of sweet and berry scented loose tea that had dark tea leaves, dark green raspberry leaves, and 1 plump blueberry that looked like a blue full moon. I brewed 12 oz. at 208F for 3 minutes and sipped the medium brown liquor. The first taste was berry forward and acerbic to me. I’m a sweet tooth so my honey jar is always near and I dipped into it today. Some sweetening absolutely elevated the berry flavor for me and made the sip a very pleasant one. In no time the cup was gone. There was no bitterness detected and just the right amount of astringency from the Ceylon tea base to join the berry tang for a full well-rounded cuppa. The raspberry leaves probably helped there too. I resteeped 8 oz. and chilled a sweetened mini cup. I like the chilled version but I like this one better brewed hot for now. Not sure why but with another bag I could probably enjoy it both hot and cold after many more enjoyable cups. Move over Honeybush Blueberry Pancake, your cousin will be moving in soon.

Terrific tea with noted mild blueberry flavor. My only complaint is why decaf 😂

200 degrees for 3 minutes. What a great decaf! Crisp ceylon blends beautifully with the juicy blueberry and raspberry flavors for a tasty afternoon drinking experience. A teaspoon of sugar brought this tea to life. Lightly astringent, but in a pleasant way. Very nice!

I often find Ceylon teas to be bitter but this was not. I steeped at 195 F x 2 1/2 min and was surprised I did not need to add sweetener nor milk.

I'm a big fan of all things blueberry at Adagio, and this is no exception! Nice juicy fruit flavor among the black tea that is great both hot and iced. Bonus for me that it's decaf!

Trying along with the CommuniTEA today: lots of strong blueberry scents from the dry ingredients and packet. After steeping for 3 mins at 190°F (minimize tannins), I get a subtle blueberry essence on the nose. When I take a sip I am reminded of eating a blueberry tart, blueberry mixed with golden-baked crust finish and lingering blueberry on the palate. No actual berries in my packet, but still plenty of flavor.

This is the best blueberry tea I’ve tried from Adagio, and also the best decaf. I don’t miss the caffeine! Delicious! Didn’t add a thing.

Dry tea smells like blueberries. Some raspberry leaves were noted with the black decaf tea, but no actual blueberry pieces. The tea brews to a deep dark chocolate brown and smells of blueberries. When hot, there are moderate blueberry notes, with some tannic astringency from the decaf Ceylon. When warm, more sweetness from the berries are evident, but the tea is slightly bitter. Sweetener would most likely help boost the blueberry flavor and mask some of the bitterness. I also feel that a larger size would have more opportunity for the blueberries than my CommuniTEA packet, which may increase the overall blueberry flavor or sweetness. Blueberry flavor isn't too bold, and makes for a pleasant sip. Brewed at 200 for 3 minutes.

This one gets a hearty 'meh' from me. I don't much enjoy decaf black tea, in general; if I'm going to drink something decaf, there's so many naturally uncaffeinated options from which I can choose. There are a few of Adagio's flavored decafs that I'll go for despite that - in particular, the strawberry, the vanilla, and the hazelnut cinnamon creme - but the natural blueberry flavor in this blend just isn't nice enough with the tea to make it worthwhile. If you're looking for a good blueberry tea, I'd recommend the white blueberry or green rooibos blueberry over this one. (2 mins @ 200 F, no additions)

This tea just has the 'essence' of blueberry for me. I did not have any actual blueberries in my packet. Just some very subtle flavor added. This is a good tea for blending, but not very substantial on its own. Added milk and monk fruit. Steeped at 200 for 5 minutes.

I really didn't expect to like today's tea, but I was proven wrong. I usually do not like overly fruity teas (particularly peach teas :oP) but this blueberry tea really knocked it out of the park for me. The blueberry flavor isn't overwhelming or 'fake' like so many flavored things can be. The aroma is also wonderful.

There's an old joke that ends with the mother of a newly successful man tasting champagne and caviar for the first time and remarking, 'This lemonade is sour, and the blueberries taste like fish!' Well, these blueberries don't taste like fish, but they also don't taste like much. There's an odd sour aftertaste that I don't care for, too. This one's a miss for me! I get blueberry more from the scent than the taste, and it takes some work for me to enjoy it. My typical eyeballing and guesstimates do not work here... there must be accurate water temperature and exactly timed steeps. And while I do not like to add sweetener, this requires rock sugar to bring out blueberry flavor, otherwise it is just generic fruit. If steeped too high or too long this is an undrinkable bitter mess with zero blueberry (I don't know what it is about the berry fruit flavored black teas - but they can be some of the most bitter if not babied during brewing - though I found this decaf version slightly more forgiving than its caffeinated counterpart). So, with some extra pampering this tea can be good - but honestly for the work and the possibility that it is still going to come out slightly unpalatable, I would rather drink the honeybush blueberry pancake tea for a zero effort, zero caffeine, strong blueberry flavor that needs no sugar to be good. When I read decaf on my packet this morning I got a little sad. But I thought, well blueberries sound good! There's something weirdly astringent about warm blueberry flavoring that rubs me the wrong way. The blend wasn't overly fruity or strong black tea...just a big old meh today.

I'm not a decaf person, but I brewed this just right without thinking about time. There were no blueberries in my packet. That's okay because this is flavored tea. You will never get a serious blueberry taste in it. Go shop in the herbals section if you want blueberry. I'm not a blueberry person. This is why it got five stars.

Many flavored black teas disappoint. They promise such intriguing flavors but then you drink it and say, 'welp, that just tasted like black tea.' This one delivers. Luscious blueberry wafts off the nose and pops out of the black tea base when you sip and you exclaim, 'yes, thank you!'. This one is good plain, but add some oat milk and honey and you have dessert for breakfast. I'm still not the biggest black tea fan, and certainly not flavored black tea, but this one is pretty darn good! Happy Sipping!

When I see “decaf” a signal goes to my head. It brings back memories of my mother keeping Sanka in the fridge when she had less time but never enjoyed it or eating sugar free candy as if it will bring the same enjoyment as regular candy. The smell of this tea is lovely. In my sample I saw no whole blueberries but it smelled like them. After a bit of sugar added the first sip was quite nice. The blueberries were not artificial tasting or overwhelming. I was sipping and watching the tv at the same time and by the end of the cup I forgot that it was decaf. It was just a lovely cup of tea.

A very pleasant tea. The aroma of the dry tea was very blueberry and the anticipation of sipping it made for a long wait. 5 mins@180°. The tea was smooth sweet and full of blueberry flavor without any bitterness. I really savored this tea. Adagio really has the blueberry flavor perfected, I love all of the blueberry blends i have sampled so far.

As far as decaf teas go this one is pretty good, but still lacks some of the depth and richness of a regular black tea. There weren't any blueberry pieces in my CommuniTEA packet but the dry leaves did have a nice sweet blue-raspberry scent, almost like candy. Steeped at 200°F for 3 minutes, the tea is smooth with little to no bitterness and a nice amount of astringency that you would expect from a Ceylon base. The blueberry flavor is subtle and stays in the background, so I added a little sugar and it did enhance the fruity flavors. I think this is one I would enjoy more iced, and maybe blended with some mint, vanilla, or other fruit flavors to switch it up.

I noticed one lonely blueberry blob and plenty of black tea in my communiTEA packet this morning. Moderate blueberry aromas were noted.
I had 3.1 grams of ingredients, enough for a 12 ounce steep. I’ve had Adagio’s Black Ceylon on my shelf as my go-to decaf tea for over a year now. I’ve found it to be far less bitter than the caffeinated version, even at 200°F. I wanted to bring out fruit flavors and lower any possible bitterness from the raspberry leaves. So I decided on a four minute at 190°F steep.
When hot, mild raspberry leaf and tea bitterness was noted. Blueberry favors were mild. I added some sugar to allow fruit flavors to bloom and lower bitterness.
When warm, the raspberry leaves, one lonely blueberry and flavoring, combined their efforts to bring out fruitiness to a moderate level. Mild dark chocolate and pleasantly bitter flavors were noted from the tea.
When I was finished drinking, I decided that this was pretty good stuff and worthy of use in other fruity blends, but not to be sipped alone. (4 mins @ 190ºF, ¼ tsp sugar)

This blueberry decaf is a straightforward tea. The sweet blueberry plays against the bitter notes of the black tea. Naturally, adding sugar draws out the blueberry flavor more and helps to counter any overly bitter notes. For someone who enjoys blueberry in tea, this would be a fine blend. Me? I’ll just take some blueberries...or blueberry muffins.

Mmmmmm!! The earthiness of Ceylon black tea blends perfectly with the light blueberry taste! The aroma when I opened my packet was definitely blueberry. Brewed at 200F, 3 minutes. Absolutely no bitterness from the black tea or raspberry leaves. On 2nd steep I added a tsp of Berry Blues to ramp up the blueberry -- Soooo good!! This tea has a light blueberry aroma and taste. The berry doesn't take the forefront, but blends with and sweetens the black tea. With the addition of Berry Blues, the berry comes to the front but the Ceylon tea is still present with its malty goodness. Very nice tea!! Adding to my wishlist for those times I want black tea, but not the caffeine!

This tea is smooth and enjoyable. The blueberry flavor was a bit weak, but came out more as the tea cooled. Thankfully it didn't have that slightly off aftertaste that some decaf teas have. I think Adagio has better berry teas than this, but for a decaf tea it's not bad.

Here's a sad fact about me: i have a tendency to absolutely murder black tea. I brew too long or use water that is either too hot or too cold or I use the wrong mug or I look at the tea the wrong way and the whole thing becomes a mess. If I am able to brew a decent cup of black tea, it is a minor miracle. This is one of the reasons why I avoid black tea. So, I wasn't super thrilled about today's tea.
However, when I opened the packet and was greeted with the most yummy, juicy blueberry aroma, I became determined to make this cup of tea a success. Every step of the brewing process was done to the t(ea) and I DID IT! My efforts were met with a steaming mug of naturally blueberry-scented goodness. Not only does it smell like real blueberries, it tastes like them also. Nothing fake here and for a decaf, this has an AMAZING full flavor. The blend is sweet like blueberries also, and requires very little, if any, sweetner, though sugar makes everything better. While this tea is good hot, waiting for it to cool brings it's own advantages: you get even more delicious blueberry flavor and can detect the citrusy notes of the Ceylon tea. I imagine this would be dreamy iced. As a matter of fact. I'm going to get the big bag and find out for myself!
