You mentioned water soluble pencils last night, have you tried Derwent inktense pencils? I tried so many Oddball brands from Amazon before I discovered the good stuff, and I adore them. They have a fabulous pigment load, you can sketch with them or wet them and turn them into beautiful watercolors. They can also be purchased open Stock through shops like Jackson's Art Supply, so you don't have to Shell out for a full set.

My husband has an old Hasselblad camera that he said helped him learn photography because it is completely manual. He got it as a kid. He would hang out at a camera store in Sedona, Az and get tips from the photographers that came in. They actually gave it to him.

Oooh, another tea that's actually in our stash! I'll have to take a picture later when both Lynn and I are awake. Bergamot smells wonderful, but tastes too perfumy to me. I've been working on a group of blends that all contain an Earl Grey, but hopefully pull the flavor in a way I can drink it. I feel like I'm in a perfumery blending by smell instead of taste 😅

One of my top ten teas! I love this one. I remember thinking earl gray was such a unique, indescribable flavor when I first tried it. I'm so used to it now. I still don't think of it as citrus, even though I know it is. I think the flavor is foggy. Delicious.

My photo today is of another 4,000 year old Shaanxi teapot. Like the one I posted yesterday, it is topped a bird and has a handle with an animal head. This one also features an animal head on the spout that the tea pours through. There were more teapots on exhibit, but I think these were the only ones shown with all the animals. It’s lovely to think that we are carrying on a centuries old tradition of drinking tea daily as ancient tea drinkers did, using teapots that have the same basic shape as they used. And even though our daily tea drinking ceremonies may not be the same, the tradition of drinking tea remains. Enjoy your tea 🫖

So every morning I read a daily mediation from A Cherokee Feast of Days (Volume II). There is a quote at the end of each entry and then the name of the individual and his or her tribe. So I asked hubby this morning what he thought my Indian name would be, and, after no hesitation, he said "Many Paths." After thinking about it for a while, I told him his name would be "Stone Mountain." If you had an Indian name, what would it be?

How about Morning Light? I think if one chooses to have an Indian name when one is an adult a person's personality can be an inspiration. I am interested in so many, many things (too many!) so hubby had no trouble in choosing Many Paths for me. I am usually off somewhere pursuing some interest or question or something. Mary, like you, I have so many interests. And new ones surface all the time. Not enough time in a day to accomplish all that interests me! So I have erratic momentum and work on whatever project happens to be located at whichever place my tushy decides to rest. Engraving at my dining room table, knitting in my favorite recliner, book writing/data entry at my desk, sewing at my other desk...painting (same as wood working area), plus, i want to learn more about oil pastels and oil paints and chalk pastels....and watercolors (my daughter is so amazing) and woodburning to complement my wood engraving...and and and soooo many more....

I have very trace Native American ancestry, most likely Seminole, although we are still working to confirm that, but if I was Seminole then they have 8 clans names - Panther, Bear, Bird, Deer, Wind, Snake, Otter, and Toad. I would like to imagine I would be some kind of Deer. Maybe Stoic Deer. :)

When I was young, I participated in a program sponsored by the YMCA called Indian Princesses. As you can imagine, political correctness has long since sent this program by the wayside. The intention of the program was to encourage opportunities for fathers to spend quality time with their daughters. Participants were organized into small groups named after actual Native American tribes, and we would meet monthly for activities with our tribe. A couple times a year, we would spend a weekend at a YMCA overnight camp, too. Anyway, we had to make up our own Native American names. I was Hooting Owl, which I modeled on my father's. His was Howlin' Wolf (yes, after the musician, though I didn't know that at the age of 6.)

I didn’t have any of today’s tea but received my new advent calendar today and it had a sample of Earl Grey in it. I brewed it just two minutes as I prefer Lady Grey to Earl Grey as it’s a bit more dainty and not quite so much bergamot. I decided to try Adagio’s version anyway as every brand can be a little different. I did end up still adding sugar to balance the bitter, which helped, but I still prefer Lady Grey. I wish Adagio had a decaf Lady Grey as I have only found one brand that carries it so far.

Michelle, from what my father told me, as a child, Grey is the Name, Gray is the color. However, the Brits use grey as color also. So American English, the color is Gray. British-English is willy-nilly, interchanging. Though, we too interchange...regionally. So, essentially, both are correct and acceptable. But to my knowledge. Grey is a Name. ETA, my father was a linguist, so I go by what he told me.

Me too, Rita. My Shorter Oxford English Dictionary only has one entry for gray...and it is a term in physics. However, under grey, it is also indicated as (gray) but has meaning after meaning after meaning. My American Heritage Dictionary has meaning after meaning after gray (also indicates also grey) but under grey has only variation of gray.
