Hello Jeff! Thank you for the batch of dumb dad jokes! I really needed the laughs tonight; it's been a tough couple days and that was great medicine; that and tea, of course! 😄
Sorry for the rough days! I hope they get better soon!
Hi Jeff! I was looking for something for my husband and found a shirt for you! https://www.signals.com/HAD341.html LOL
Anneke, Excellent shirt!
That is awesome! Love it!
That is perfect for Jeff, and my husband, too!😂
Hi Jeff, Diggin' your corny jokes.
Thanks Sue! I hope you have a great morning!
Good morning Jeff, you are bright and early this “T” day. Always wonderful to wake up with a smile. My young neighbors will enjoy them
Good Morning, Karen! I used to post more jokes, but have been distracted with new tea stuff I keep finding at thrift stores and posting that instead.
Jeff, that student loan joke is funny because it's true. Oof!
Too true. And with a 15 and 17 year old, we are starting to look into costs and they are a bit higher than when I went. (many, many moons ago).
Good morning! And in case I don’t see you, good afternoon, good evening, and good night! 😄
Thanks for letting us view several days of dad jokes - I needed those groans and chuckles 😆
I understood that reference!
And all the same to you Kirstin and every other beautiful person in this friendship Tea communitea
I just realized, at 12:01 that my tea is both cold and unreviewed
Sue, I want to show my students your creative play on words! I love the black bear e. 🐻💕
I didn't even catch the the drawing was punny!
Likewise. Went right over my head. But I hadn't had tea yet...Thanks for pointing it out ChasiTEA!
Sue's bear is so cute.
Good morning Nancy and Harley. Thank you.
I love his mountain tea cup! So clever, Sue!
Good morning Shelly, I like how you took the photo of the packet on top of the other ones, all the colors are pretty.
Just another twist my mind took while drawing.Chasi I love your photo today and every day. Such beautiful arrangements too, Martha Stewart move over!
Between Sue and Michelle C's pictures, I'm reminded of a youthful misunderstanding. My first longterm job was at Build a Bear (9 years!). Everything was termed with "bearisms." We didn't have region managers, we had bearitory leaders. The payroll department was the Honey department. So when they gave my bearitory leader a company phone, I didn't actually realize Blackberry was a brand. And I legit thought it was another bearism and always thought of it as a "Black Beary." On that note, have a beary good day, you are all furbulous people who are always so happy to lend a paw...
Elizabeth, love your story. Thank you for sharing. Gave my husband and me a good laugh.
That is hilarious! I laughed out loud reading this.
Haven't had blackberry yet, but I love blackberries. Hope it's a yummy one.
Our blackberry bush was plentiful this summer. I love to eat them right off the bush 😊
Yes! Growing up we also had mulberry trees, one with white berries and the other dark/purple/black. Used to love eating em right off the trees.
Have a good night, everyone!
Hi my tea friends my picture today is my tea order it finally came.🫖☕️🐈⬛
Yay! Say hello to Violet 💜 and enjoy the Halloween teas 😊
Good morning Linda and Violet.
Hello! Teahee, good early morning!
If I can get past the fact that a spider might be waiting to pounce at me... I think spider webs are so beautiful and interesting!
Spiderwebs are indeed pretty... spiders... kinda terrifying. But I'm also a wimp about all creepy crawlies (although I oddly liked snakes as a child).
Good morning, Julia!
Good morning Jeff! 👋🏼
That’s a beautiful web!
I thought so too, and these type of spiders create surprisingly strong webs! Pretty to look at but no fun to accidentally walk into 🥴
oh, no! i was so busy on Wednesday that i wasn't able to vote on the photos😭😿
You can always vote on the photos. You can just pick “yesterday” under the previous day button and then vote for them.
But they won’t count. Will they?
Aw dang, got here too late... lost my chat streak! Oh well, see you in about 8-ish hours.
This tea pet is cracking me up: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B08RB49657/ref=wl_mb_wl_huc_mrai_3_dp
Small angry cat sure has some personality.
That is a truly mad cat!
For a small angry cat, it sure is adorable too!
I keep looking at that little Buddha cat, too, when indulging in my 'porn' habit. Shopping for teaware, of course!
Well that obviously went on my wishlist!
I love that they call him small and angry.
After trying all six, my favorite Wicked Tea is Pumpkin Patch, with Monster Mash in second place. I’m not surprised, those were the two I was planning to order for sure before I found out I could only get the real deal with sprinkles by trying them all.
I've only tried two so far; Pumpkin Patch and Ghoul Gulp. I'll try Monster Mash tomorrow.
I just got my Wicked Tea today excited to try them.
Double Post = Emoji Dump!
Thank you! I got to use my eye roll 🙄😂
I really liked the Cat Scratch most so far. I still have to try the Bat Brew
Maybe I need to add sweetener to cat scratch
My cold brewed blackberry tea, a delicious creamer suggestion, and yet another painting I was working on today, for the blacklight show 🙀😸
Love the color, it is going to pop with the black light.
Good morning A.
Hello Tiffany and Waffle.
Good morning. Love your bear today!
Good morning Nancy, Thank you.;)
Hi Sue! I love your black bear e today🐻
Ahhh blackberry! As I said in my review last year. Blackberry has special memories for me! It was the first flavored tea I had as a you g kid when I stayed with my grandparents. So today I add a picture of them!
That is a neat photo Tiffany.
I like blackberry
Hi Sue love your drawing today, my husband nickname is Bear, I have to show him your drawing.
Hi Linda. Hi to Bear! Looks like you have a nice tea haul there.
My cup of tea was jammy but not overly sweet.
Oh I love blackberry tea! Especially with a little honey, or blended with earl grey. Blackberry earl grey is one of my favorite combos.
Specifically this blackberry tea with early grey or a different tea?
Any blackberry with any earl grey. I usually like earl grey bravo, but when I have moonlight, that is just heaven.
I agree! I actuallly made a blends of Earl great and Blackberry! 💕
It's one of my favorites!
Mmmm... blackberry blended with EG moonlight... that could be amazing! Maybe I'll attempt that with my second steep.
I just threw some Bella Luna in with my blackberry for the second steep
That sounds yummy 🤤
Nice aroma and taste.
I really like this tea, once sweetener and cream are added!
Sue, I really love your drawing today!
Thank you Tahlia. What are you knitting ? The colors are so warm and beautiful.
My phone was on verge on dying. So no flash on my pic that would have actually made the blackberries in the cap pop. Oh well.
Steffi, It is still a cool picture. Love the colors and I am amazed how you can pour the tea and take the shot without spilling. Every time I try it ends up all over the place.
Today's tea looks like it will be delicious. Can't wait to taste some of my Mom's later. I'm excited for her; she usually loves blackberry in tea!
Anyway; good morning/good night. I've been losing against my chronic fatigue much more often lately. I'm going to see if going to bed a bit early helps. It doesn't usually, but one can pretend. I'll see y'all when I wake!
I hope you're feeling better today, especially for tomorrow's tea time. :) God bless..
Hope you are rested today.
Tahlia, did you know that optimum benefit from sleep is gotten from 10 til 6 ? Maybe you could test that out
oh geez these time zones will be the death of me (or more like the death of my streaks lol)
Sue, your puns lately lol
They are a bit silly, but I am having fun.
Goodnight my tea friends have a great night and sweet dreams😴😴
Good night, Linda!
Finally done working on tonight's project! Goodnight all <3 I hope you enjoy my lovely giant dragon sculpture!
I love your dragons! 💕💕💕💕
I love its pose!
I have to admit this is one of my favorite poses too... I might be guilty of overusing it
Hi Ali, your dragons are adorable. I keep trying to figure out how you make them. Is it some type of sculpting clay?
I use polymer clay and 7 years of practice <3 I also have a BFA in 3D Media, so that can't hurt either! My professors always hated me because I ONLY made dragons! I've made them out of polymer clay, ceramic clay, steel, copper, silver, glass, wood, etc, so you could say dragons are my passion <3 My recommendation to anyone getting started with sculpting is to make 100 of whatever it is you want to make. They could all suck, but by the end of it, you'll be so much better at it!
Ali, All of the dragons are so cute.
Thank you so much!!!
Just my luck... we ate all our blackberries before I could take the tea photo for today. Not sure what I should do for the photo now
I sketched mine; all out of the real ones!
I'm not good at drawing... maybe if they were stick figure blackberries... lol
I found one of our teapots has a multicolored thing that kinda looks like a berry? Maybe it's like a "wildcard" berry for just this type of occasion?
I wish I could draw.
Your drawing is stunning btw!
I would love to see James C give a try to stick figure blackberries.
This is one of my favorite teas. I will brew a pot of it in the morning and sip it along with all of you even though I do not have the current monthly box.
I usually make my tea by the cup. How much tea would you use to make a pot? Your enthusiasm for this tea gives my high hopes for it.
I'm looking forward to tasting it. God bless...
I use 4-5 of the adagio tea teaspoons in the infuser basket of the cold steep pitcher at night. It's perfect the next morning!
Marlicia, I have a small teapot in which I brew my morning tea. It holds 16 ounces of water and I use 5 grams of tea.
I got this one last time I had the communitea box! I tried it hot then, so I'll be trying it cold steeped this time. Super excited, I love berry flavored teas
HEY!! Has anyone turned liver their wicked teas? And read the bottom? 😉
Yeah! Love the witchy rhymes!
I love the curses. I'm going to do a whole pic series showcasing them. They are so cute!
Yes! Jeff was gracious to read one over the last Tea Talk for those of us who did not have them. When I got mine I read one to my husband who asked why I was cursing us. 😄
Got my pic up! Blackberry plants were used to cultivate boysenberry plants so it counts, right?
I didn't know that. I love learning new things. I think it should count. :) God bless...
Speaking of learning new things! There is so much more to this site then pictures chat and reviews. I discovered Masters, recipes, interesting articles about tea and I see more that I need to explore.
Absolutely, and cool knowledge trivia! 🍇
Age's Spooky Countdown, 18 days till Halloween: a Halloween cauldron mug and another spooky plant. A little late to the party today.
We must have a lot of different time zones here. Where I am you're early. :) I have to look for your picture. God bless...
Love the flower. Does the clock work or are you changing the time on it?
I made this iced…flavor was weak..prob better hot.
Good morning, everyone. It's early yet for my communiTea tasting. I still have to get my morning routine in gear, but once I'm on track I will steep my tea and post my picture. I'm really looking forward to it. God bless and have a wonderful day!
Marlicia, you have a lovely name. I don’t believe I have heard it before
Oh, thank you, Karen. I'm glad you like it. It is actually a nickname. :)
I am looking forward to today's tea. I love blackberries and have tasted some great blends that have used this tea
☀️ Good Morning everyone. Wishing you all a fabulous day! ☀️
Thank you, Julie. You too.
You too Julie. Glad to see Tarzan cat made it down safely off the drapes. That is one cool feline.
Sue, love the bear with the bowl of berries!!!
Happy Thursday, tea friends! To me, blackberries are a fruit I associate with a hot summer day. (Maybe because that's when ours are ready for picking?). Ahhh for a good blackberry cobbler.... I may have to pull some of my stash from the freezer and bake one. Today's tea is good sipped hot. Going to cold steep for afternoon refreshment, so I'll enjoy it twice.
Good morning Lilly, Have a great day.
Hello my sweet girl, you have been hiding your talents. You served me alushious dessert today and then posted it on the adagio recipe site. I wonder how many of our tea friends know about getting free tea and creating recipes with it. I hope some will go there and try one of the recipes( espescially the one you did today.
Good Morning, Lilly. Definitely a fruity aroma and taste today.
Morning, sis! Enjoy your day!
Lilly, the green depression glass compote that holds the blackberries in my photo today was moms grandmothers. Your great grandmother Julia. 😊💕
Morning all you Tea Lovelies! Hope everyone has a great day today!
Good morning Julie. Hope you have a great day too.
Julie, your blackberry photo is top notch!
Right back at you, Julie. I hope the day is filled with lovely surprises!
Julie P., Looks like Tarzan cat is chillin' today.
He’s super cool! 😎
Today she’s going for the rock glam look. Notice the draperies reflected in her glasses as she contemplates where she really wants to be 😂
Bahahaha! Purr-fect shot! Dreaming of better times ,lol.
Looks like Almost Famous, lol! 😎
Good morning 🌞
I got my photo up. I'm still figuring out exactly how my phone camera works and what pictures to take. :) God bless...
Morning tea peeps! Hope you all have a beautiful day!
Hope you have a great day! ☺️🫖
Good morning Cindi ☀️ Have a terrific day !
Good Morning, Cindi! I hope you've recovered from your tea hangover. LOL
Hi Cindi, Have a fabulous day, drink up some of those great tea finds.
I am intrigued by all the fun emojis a lot of people have earned and I am curious if anyone is able to give me an estimate on when new emojis will show for me to use? So far I am on day 27th of my chat streak and I don’t notice any new emojis yet.
With Day 7 you get the laughing/crying TEAmoji. On Day 30, you'll get the winking one. The others are accolade based.
Thank you for responding Anneke, I was also wondering about that.
+1 to what Anneke said. I think Elizabeth has the full rundown. Every 1,000 accolades you get a new emoji. Tongue Sticking out, Kissy face, band-aid, devil, angel, roll eyes... and that's as far as I got, but that is for 1K, 2K, 3K, 4K, and 5K accolades. Another few weeks before I hit 6K.
Wow! Emoji earners are like the X-men of CT chat! I had no idea. Thank u both for filling me in. I will do my best to earn my wings here
Jeff has them all but one! The last is the sobbing emoji (added it to Jeff's message so you can see it.) I'm still hoping we can get a "drooling" emoji for all the tasty treats and recipes people post!
I have 6363 accolades and still just have the wink laugh emoji. I'm thinking there is not another one to earn at this time. If you use your accolades do you lose your emojis?
@chasiTea, your accolade count keeps going, even if you redeem. You don't lose those teamojis. The wink laugh is one of the two chat streak teamojis. If you look at your teamoji pop up, there should be three groupings with a small space between. The wink is in the last grouping - those are chat streaks. The middle grouping (listed out by Jeff) are the accolade teamojis. At 6363, that should start with the tongue out and you should be up to the eye roll!
Awesome! Less than 200 to go before I earn the eye roll. Woot! 🙄
Elizabeth that is good to know and makes sense. I do have the crying cup for accolades then. Is there one after that? I used it on your post.
I finally got my eye roll. Now I can say I’ve arrived, lol 🙄😂
@chasitea, that’s the last of the accolade teamojis. I vote we lobby Ilya for a drool teamoji during the zoom chat tomorrow…
@elizabeth I like the idea of a drooling emoji! I think a sleepy emoji would be fun also.
Drat! Second day of bad photo positions . Today , the heart is dead center of the cup, covering up the Beatrix Potter bunnies, which theme with the plate and ties in with the blackberry. Our backyard bunnies so do enjoy the black and raspberry brambles along our fence.
I am possibly queen of the re-upload photo 👑 I try to leave some room at the bottom and top of the photo.
As I'm looking on my computer, the heart is just above center, so I can see the Beatrix Potter characters, if that helps at all.
I am learning these techniques the hard way too 🤓
One key to the photos here is to take them using the "square" option with your phone. If you do that, there is very little cropping or resizing done by the site when they are uploaded and it's easier to control what goes where.
Unfortunately with the recently iPhone software update I no longer see the option to take square photos! Ugh, I rarely, of ever, used that feature and now that I need it I can’t find it! Hopefully all I need is more caffeine and photo square will magically appear again…thinking about this I will ask my 12 year old son to show it to me hahahaha
For iPhone it should be with the picture ratio (you may have to hit a caret mark to see the options before taking the picture).
My daughter told me about that option, but I can't find it on my phone.
I can’t seem to find that square option you mentioned so I have to edit the pictures I take and just hope it is square enough and the bottom part is as plain and vacant as posible
Good morning! I don't really enjoy fruity flavors, but I've never had a blackberry tea before. Definitely worth a taste at least once!
Good morning Dorothy ☀️
Good morning Dorothy 👋🏼
Sue your drawing this morning is wonderful - I love the bear!
Thank you Heather. I love the Fox, He is the most adorable pup!
It really is adorable! She did an amazing job
Morning Sara! 👋🏼
Good morning Sara ☀️
Goood morning, all! Happy Friday Eve Day! Unfortunately, I got busy with work and oversteeped my tea. It's not too bad, but not as smooth as I would have liked. Oh well.. will be following this up with some of my CherryChip blend and then a French Silk Oolong.
Good morning Jeff 👋🏼 I’m headed to turn on my kettle and give this tea a sip. Your morning tea line up sounds like a good one, I hope they brew up better for you.
Thanks Julia! I hope you have a great day!
French Silk Oolong?? Who is she! 😯
Yes, tell us more Jeff.
Oh.. I never sip and tell. 😉
I didn't love the blackberry so now I'm having Golden Flower. Ahhh, oolong, you are ALWAYS delicious! Hope your day is lovely!
French Silk Oolong? That sounds decadent! [ETA: Found it on the internet. OooOooooOoOoo! Yummmmmmm!]
I try not to talk much about non-Adagio teas here. But my IG tells all. 😂🤣
Now I'm going to have to look it up. Lots of enabling going on here. :)
Exact same thing happened to me. A second steep was more forgiving, though!
Hello! Today is Spider-Man day and be Bald and Be free day! Why does baldness get a bad rap? Why do we judge ourselves so harshly? Take time to be gentle and praise something about yourself that you criticize today :).
Good morning Michelle. You are right, sometimes we are our worst enemy. Thanks for the reminder. We are blessed to be free everyday in this country, especially us women. I'll turn on the Spidey sense for some more insights.
Spidey senses are the best! Now, we need to work to work on making sure that women are supporting each other, and ditching those judgements we were raised with. It is amazing how much criticism women can face on a daily basis (i.e., make up/no make up, combed hair/messy hair, wear this here/but not there!) oh my! I find as I get older (always young at heart though), it is so freeing to drop the critic! Or maybe knock the critic out? hmmmm
Michelle: age has a lot of negative aspects, but I agree completely that the change of perspective that comes with age is a priceless positive. It's so freeing and helps me be a better person in general.
Both Leia and I have been bit by spiders (we think) this month. Still waiting for our powers to come in...
I am waiting for powers from the first covid shot, which I got 10 days after having been diagnosed with covid (early days, before they declared you should wait 40 days after having covid before getting the shot). No super powers yet....
I guess I would praise my elevens between my eyes. I hate them but I have an emotive face that communicates WTF pretty effectively, so I guess I should be grateful most stop in their tracks when they see the elevens get going! :)
yay for expressive eyes! character can never be over rated ;)
Love it. I call them my wtf lines. They were well earned by too many years in customer service.
Ah hair. I’ve always had thin hair, runs in the family, and lately because of my thyroid problems I’ve been losing more of it. It’s been frustrating, but you’re completely right Michelle. We can be so critical and mean to ourselves, and would think things we’d never think about friends or strangers! So even though I don’t have much of it, I’m happy my hair grows quickly and is healthy. I can count how many split ends I’ve seen in my life on my hands. So thank goodness for that! And thank goodness for you and your daily positivity reminders! 😘
Ali, that dragon is just fabulous!
Thanks so much!! She's for Dragon Festival this weekend, but if she doesn't sell I may have to keep her...
Do you have an Etsy site or something that you sell other things like this that you make? Edit - Yes you do. I should read your profile first. https://www.etsy.com/shop/Dragonspirations
Ali, I love your dragons and have been eyeing them for a while! I'm gonna adopt one soon!!!
I bought some dragons from Ali and they are even cuter in real life than they are in photos. Probably gonna buy more after the move. My office might become a dragon nursery.
Aww thank you!! I'm so glad you love them <3 Always nice to know they've gone to good homes!
Sue, just perfect art and so punny! Black bear e! Haha! It is 👻 tiful!
Thank you Michelle.
Chris R. That must have been really great. I didn't know Kiss was still touring. They are way into their performances.
It was so great! It was my 9th time seeing them, this is their (finally for real) farewell tour. I was supposed to see them 6 weeks ago but 2 hours before the show, Paul Stanley tested positive for Covid and we all had to go home as it was obviously canceled and postponed. Worth the wait!!!
Had to use the tongue emoji as a tribute to them. ;)
I saw Phantom of the Opera in Toronto and Paul Stanley was the phantom. What a great show! Bunch of bikers sat behind us dressed up in their leathers. It was so cool and fun.
Does anyone know where (or if) I can find a list explaining Adagio badges?
Hi Julia - There is no formal list. They talked about this a month ago in the Tea Talk on Friday. Most of the ones I have are from joining a fandom, which you can do by going to the Fandom Blends page, scrolling through the fandoms, and clicking on the "Join Fandom" button that appears on the title page. You will usually have to answer questions and pass the test to join. Other ones are based on finding hidden things here on the site and can be gotten anytime you find them. Still other ones are time-bound and based on certain events that occurred at certain times. If you miss that time event, then you can't earn them.
I had know idea there are hidden things on the site! Another fun activity feeding my obsession with visiting Adagio 24-7! Thanks for sharing your badge knowledge !
@Julia, head over to English Breakfast. There may be a very English badge hiding there down in the ingredients and lore. Clicking is your friend.
Wait what? Blenders can make their own fandom groups?!?! I want to know how to do that!
Emily you have more than one dessert tea so you can group them together as a fandom. I think there are instructions under Help > Custom Blends. No I still haven’t tried to make a blend yet but I’m reading everything about it. 😝
Erin, I figured it out! At the top of your fandom group it says "create community". If you click on that, it takes you to the page where you can create questions for people to answer. I never knew what "create community" meant so I just ignored it before, but after reading this discussion I was like, "Wait a minute..." so I went and checked it out. Sure enough! I can make my own badge for my ESO collection! Whut whut!
Have a great day everyone!!
Wow! That house looks amazing. That sounds like a memory-making trip!!
That message is so messed up. I wrote that I loved today's tea and added how I finished my current class and how I can write and bake and prepare for the trip. I can't see that now. Is it there?
Sue, love your picture today, very clever with the bear 😻
Good morning Julie, thank you.
Today's tea is a little more bitter than the usual "black tea + fruit" ones for me. Not intolerably so, but it is noticed. Does anyone agree?
Yes! I noticed the same thing. The black tea was more bitter than usual, but the blackberry flavoring was spot on so I ended up drinking it.
I also noticed the bitterness! My usual method of steeping around 190 instead of boiling typically reduces the bitterness but it was still quite pronounced with this one.
I typically do 200 and did that today, currently heating up a second steep at 190 to try and reduce this. Will probably throw a rock sugar or two as well
Yes, totally agree. This one was too bitter for me to really enjoy.
Chris, I steeped for 3 mins @ 180° and it was good.
I am pretty sure it is the raspberry leaves. I have noticed when steeping the Ceylon base with raspberry leaves in a fruity mix, it tends to get a bit more bitter or astringent if not steeped with care at a lower temp.
Completely agree and I haven’t really figured out how to prevent it except to cold brew or to brew then chill. The bitterness improves when cold.
Interesting, I even had this discussion with myself yesterday because I didn't notice any bitterness from the raspberry leaves in that blend, and so figured maybe it wasn't the culprit. Perhaps there's just more today, I didn't look too closely at the leaves before steeping.
I suspect it's not the black tea, but the raspberry leaves. They can be bitter.
Yes, I agree!
This tea has rasberry leaves in it which seems to add some bitterness. Edit: should have read the comments first as I see others pointed out the rasberry leaves too!
Can’t wait to catch up on the last few days of chat once I can stay awake for longer bits of time. So many beautiful pictures the last few days.
hope you're starting to feel better!!!
Michele, Hope you feel better today.
Hope you are feeling better. Sinus infections suck!!
Hope you are on the road to recovery!
Julie, on the iPhone to take a square picture click in the “upside down V” at the top of the screen and then click on the “4:3” and you will see the option for square.
OMG, WOW, It was in front of my face the entire time, Thk you oh so much Tiffany!!! I am in shock and feel like I found the golden 🎫 ticket! This group is truly amazing, tea talk, techie help & so much more!
Sorry I didn’t see Tiffany’s explanation before but she described it better than I did. Upside down V is a caret mark. 😘
Lol I teacher kindergarten so I’m used to describing in simple shapes! LOL
Tea pets anyone? What is the best choice and how do you use yours? I always a thought that you place them in your cup and pour tea over them, then remove them to drink the tea. I have seen the purple clay pets on Amazon and almost purchased one, but I am not sure that is the best. Any pointers or information would be awesome! Is this just a ceromonial addition to tea time or does it change the flavor to the tea as well?
Your message made so much more sense after I reread and saw teapets instead of teapots... 🤦♂
Hi ChasiTea - I have several, including one purple clay (Yixing) one that I enjoy. Typically, they don't go in your tea cup, but instead on your tea tray. You will often pour your first infusion (rinse) of tea over them before you steep your the one to drink. In a traditional ceremony, hot water is used to awaken everything, (teapot/gaiwan, cups, etc) and then poured out. Then the first steep is often 15-20 seconds to awaken or wash the tea and then poured out. That's typically when the tea pet has tea poured on it. That said.. that's just my limited understanding and how I do it. I'm sure there are many different opinions and ways to engage your tea pet. I have 3 turtles and am looking to expand my zoo. :)
Jeff, superb explanation! I also pour the last few drops from my sharing pot (Gong Dao Bei) over my pet. Usually the last remaining drops are darker and have tea leaf bits mixed in, which I do not always want to drink. Also, I have read that depending on what your pet is made of, the more often u share tea with ur pet, they can change colors from the tea infusion. Which is easier to accomplish when drinking Pu’Erh.
So that explains the tea sets that come with the tea tray's that capture the tea. I always wondered how anyone could spill that much tea. 😂
If you are in fun mood or looking to expand with something different get a peeing one. You soak it first and then pour your tea wash over it and it pees. I got mine at a Chinese tea shop in Washington.
I have one of the little pee boys too! Lol, took me along time to figure out how to make him “go”. I picked mine up at a tea house in Beijing, they had used him during the tea ceremony to demonstrate how hot the water was. He certainly is entertaining and a shock for new tea guests sitting around the table, lol
That shop also had the best whole roses I have ever had. You could resteep 5x and still taste the flavor. I think I am going to look them up and see if they finally started shipping tea. The lady asked questions about your skin and digestion and overall heath and created the most wonderful blends I have ever had.
Steffi, oh that sounds very interesting! I would luv to know who they are if you don’t mind sending me a PM, thanks!
Julia, please take a picture of your little pee boy. These are so new to me and I would love to see it
I got my first tea pet for my birthday a month ago. I am a heathen and I lack all the fun tea ceremony items (secretly jealous and looking for my perfect set) so my pet sits on a fancy saucer. Earl Monty only likes earl grey tea so I pour a spoon or 2 over him from my cup and use a soft paintbrush to paint him in tea. Fun and very Zen feeling.
I would like to buy a nice clay set, but I haven't been able to find one that has all the pieces I would like to have in it.
Good Morning my tea friends have a Great Day and enjoy your teas!
Good morning Linda, You too.
Good morning Linda!
I believe it was Vital t leaf
The tea is good! Though I had to add sugar into it along with the honey I already put in it
Excited to taste this one..The smell is heavenly. I had a little "explosion" when trying to tear the pouch open. I usually just cut it.
Gerald, I am laughing out loud because it is NOT funny but Iv’e been there and done that.
I really like this flavour
Good morning who ever like tea pots they have very nice ones at HomeGoods by Blue sky which I really like.
I am going to have to make time for a trip to HG!
Love Blue Sky pots !!!
Right now I am drinking Raja Oolong chai but then I am going to have blackberry sage to drink in spirit with all of you. Any suggestions for a sore throat and laryngitis? I do not have the throat therapy.
Gargle salt water, it really helps!
Mint is a good salt water cleanser (i.e., gargle salt water and then drink mint to get rid of the taste and ease your throat more!)
Lots of lemon and honey always make mine feel better.
Red: Do you just swallow the lemon and honey straight of are you putting it in tea?
Hot water with lemon and honey is my usual go to as well.
When I was a kid (don't judge I grew up in the 60's-70's, lol) if I had a bad sore throat my mom would make me a "hot toddy" which was Lipton tea with lemon, honey, and a shot of whiskey in it. :D Nowadays that would be a DYFUS call! but things were way different back then. Anyway, I think it worked pretty well...
Oh... there's judging going on. Judgey, judgey, judgey. How dare you grow up in the olden days when things were different. 😜
That was my Grandmas goto recipe although she skipped the tea, lemon and honey and just used a shot of warm whiskey!
Reminds me of how my mom apparently put vermouth on my gums when i was teething! Sweet and numbing, she said, lol.
Cindi , It worked great! Kinda like NiQuil without all the added chemicals.
Christine slippery elm lozenges or tea. I think health food stores have them some are called opera singer's friend.Salt water gargle. Night time honey, lemon in a shot of brandy or whiskey.
Minty Comfort or Wuyi ensemble.
To clarify, I put them in tea, usually a nice relaxing herbal one.
Today's tea smells like bubblegum to me 😆
I smelled bubblegum too!
It does smell like bubblegum!
currently waiting for it to steep so I can try it
This smells so sweet! Exactly like blackberry cider!
Oo. I did not find the balance here. Accidentally oversteeped, despite the warnings of bitterness on a regular steep. SUPER bitter. Added more sweetener and went overboard. Did not hit the goldilocks spot on this one.
My kettle was already boiling before I read Valerie's and Jim's reviews suggesting steeping this at a lower temperature. I also found it to be too bitter steeped at 205 degrees for 3 minutes. Adding some cream helped to calm the bitterness but also muted the blackberry flavor. This is a Meh for me. I like the suggestions of mixing this with Earl Grey.
I actually have a blend with blackberry and earl grey moonlight! It tastes wonderful!
It's on my list!
I think we had a similar blend to this in a previous CommuniTEA packet... does anyone remember which? Maybe that would be a good one to try!
You may be thinking about Magpie. That one is EG Lavender, EG Moonlight, and Blackberry.
I love this tea. But I tend to always love fruity black teas. This, currant, and pomegranate are just wonderful fruit flavored teas and I love them
Heeeeeeyyyyy! I got the cry-laughing teamoji today!
Happy TEAmoji day!
Thank you! Now I just have to keep my streak up, which obviously has been a challenge for me. *grin*
Blackberry is one of the main ingredients in several of my favorite blends (including TARDIS by Cara McGee, the first Adagio tea I ever bought) so I'm looking forward to trying it on its own later this morning!
i brewed this at a cooler temp (200*) since i knew it was going to steep for like, 5 hours before i remembered to drink it, and successfully didn't manage to turn the tea too bitter! LOL I like it!
Sherlock, in case no one's mentioned it - ABSOLUTELY A LOOK. Potentially a look and a half.
Sherlock, you are rocking the look. Love it!
Today’s tea is delicious - berries AND caffeine to keep me functional 😁
Just popping in ....to say....I hope everyone is having a lovely day!
Hi Carrie! I hope you are having a great day!
Hope you are too!
Ahhhhhh. Kilns are infuriating. Not only are they expensive (like $1500-3000 for a good one), but you also have to build a building for one etc. I am trying to find a way to start making Tea Pets, I bought the clay and everything, but I am having a time finding a way to fire it.
So... about 3 different emotions flowing through my head as I read this. I (again) mis-read the first line and thought it said "KIDS are infuriating. Not only are they expensive.....) I agreed... Then read $1500-$3000 for a good one... that made me confused... really confused... Then re-read the first sentence and the rest of the post and was both happy and sad. Happy that you are going to make Tea Pets... I know those will be awesome.... and Sad that it won't fire well. So... really not sure which "Like" emoji to use.
As far as I know the clay fires fine, I just can't afford a kiln/space for one at the moment, so I am trying to find someone who has one already set up. Which is proving difficult
Ali. Have you looked into sawdust firing , pit firing or barrel firing? https://thepotterywheel.com/firing-clay/ You can do these a home and it is fairly inexpensive. You can add in oxides and other organic materials to get wild effects. It is not like what you have been doing, but it is always good to try something new. Most of these methods do not use the glazes you are used to and the end product is not water proof . You will have to burnish and wax the pieces but I think you might make some really wild looking dragons without the cost of an expensive kiln and the electric or gas expenses. If you rent kiln space you are going to have to charge a high price for your dragons and make less. Go for it try one of the inexpensive methods.
If you are going to make tea pets these methods are perfect they are not water proof. Go for it I will be your first customer Ali.
If you have any local craft shows/makers markets/artists spaces, I would reach out there! Some of them may know artists who would be happy to offset the costs of their own kilns by firing some of your pieces.
Thanks for the tip! I miss being in college SO much. I had open access to all the studios, so I could fire things as I pleased. It's hard trying to start your own studio from scratch with limited funds.
Go to your local community college and take an art class, here they give unlimited access to the kilns.
Hi everyone! Work has been insane this morning. So busy I haven't even been able to have my tea!
Yeah. I put on water earlier and that was it. Good thing I have auto shutoff. :-)
Delightful iced with a bit of honey......
I brewed a pot of blackberry tea today and then came over to see what you guys were tasting...what a coincidence!
Anyone know why my image for a custom tea blend isn't changing when I replace it? Does it just take a while for the site to refresh it?
Edit to add: I've checked that the file size is correct, and that its a .jpg image.
I find that it can take the site a while to update the image on all pages. I think someone has suggested clearing your cache (?) might help, but I haven't tried it myself.
I always have to clear my cache for my re-loaded photo to show 🙄
Hey Melissa! To view an image that you had recently updated, we recommend forcing your browser to clear its cache (saved files) and replace them with fresh content pulled from our server. To achieve this, please press these keys (depending on your system and browser combination): Windows and Linux browsers: CTRL + F5 / Apple Safari: SHIFT + Reload toolbar button / Chrome and Firefox for Mac: CMD + SHIFT + R
Thanks everyone! I cleared my cache and the image has appeared.... only on my blends page. I'm not sure if it's like that for others viewing my tea or just me. Hopefully it'll update soon.
I like this tea! It actually reminded me to add some blackberry sage to my next order 😱 I keep forgetting to restock that one!
That one is a favorite of mine 💕
Funny story... when I first opened the packet this morning, I could have sworn it sort of smelled like bubble gum!!
I did the same thing!!!! I'm so glad I'm not alone 😂
Ah! I made it sort of early today. It's a miracle. 😂 Paired today's tea with a vanilla bean cheesecake with an Oreo and almond flour crust. Filled with fig jam, topped with sliced figs, and drizzled with a mixture of blackberry and lingonberry sauce. :)
Yumm! Also, great photo!!
Thank you! ❤️
Yum. This is when we need the drooling emoji😆. Great photo!!!
Good afternoon, peeps! Gonna have a delicious cup of cocomint green (I'm assuming it's delish, cuz it smells great outta the bag) and catch up on posts! This is weird, but my accolades seem too have disappeared...has anyone else had this happen?
I took them so that I can get more free stuff. 😜 Actually, if you cashed them in for your CommuniTEA mug, they disappear from your total, but, they still stay in the background with Adagio so you keep counting. I take my total accolades and then add the 1500 for the cup + the 100 for the sticker pack I got once. Therefore my totals are my current totals + 1600. So yeah... there is math involved.
Hahaha Jeff, u r killing’ it today! 🤣😂 u got me rollin more than once already- 3 if I put it on my spreadsheet
Hey Cindi! The accolades section will re-appear once you're closer to 100 accolades. I believe if you're under... was it 80pts, or was it perhaps the full 100, then that section automatically hides until you can redeem a prize again. Jeff is correct that we keep a background count of your total regardless if they're redeemed, so you can unlock tiers for emojis.
Thanks Bridgette! I didn't know the whole section disappeared if you dropped that low. Good to know!
Jeff, you wouldn't dare, lol! thanks for explaining that Jeff and Bridgette cuz I really thought I was losing my mind (well...). I AM gonna get the Nov. box, so I expect I will see my points and the prizes pop back up again fairly soon!
I lover cocomint green!!
I lover cocomint green!!
Thinking about trying some of the Wicked Teas, but for the sake of my over-stuffed tea cupboard I'm going to limit myself to just one. So... which one should I pick??
I was wanting to do the same thing but noone has answered me yet i don't think...
I love pumpkin potion!
I just got mine today so I only tried the Monster Mash so far. It was good if you like the caramel tea. Caramel and cream tea with a little honey. Pretty yummy.
I liked Monster Mash Mash & Ghoul Gulp the best, BUT they are all tastey!
For a decaf I really enjoyed the ghost!!
Not my favorite. The fruity black teas just aren’t doing it for me!
Just a friendly neighborhood reminder.. Tea Talk starts in about 20 hours and 15 minutes.... not that anyone's counting...
It seems like it’s a day of misreading for all of us. I saw this and panicked. I thought it was Friday and I didn’t know it, checked the time and thought I had missed it! Lol
Yup! On fridays at noon we have a zoom call with Bridgette, the Adagio CS rep, and Ilya, the cofounder/tech wizard. We get to bother them about lots of stuff and just hang out and talk. If you have time you should join in! The link/info should show up tomorrow after the countdown clock finishes.
I miss being there! :( I need to call I sick on a Friday!! 😂
Safely arrived at our third and last leg of our vacation-Toledo! And there’s a huge antique mall right across the highway! Maybe one more teacup souvenir?
Sounds like a sign to me! Yes yes and yes'
I am sure you could use another teacup. ;)
Does anyone else have an obsession on this website with adding stuff to your cart and just daily going over it and over it but can't commit to the purchase button LOL
I call it window shopping!
Keri I have the obsession of pushing the buy button lol.
Yessss I had to limit myself to once a month tho so I gotta get that cart just perfect
Also does anyone know how many oz of tea comes in the customizable tea box that has the mug infuser and the tea?
I think it depends on the tea you select! That tin size has about 4 oz when it comes with black tea, based on the ones I have. But the weight might be less for something like an oolong or white tea, that takes up more space with less weight.
I usually like black fruity teas, we shall see if I feel similarly about this tea
Heather, Fox has quite a handsome profile.
Thanks Mary, I tend to think he's pretty handsome too! Even when he's beating up my couch cushions like he is currently.
Uh-oh. Little Fox may be in trouble.
Drinking my cold steeped tea and I've noted that the initial flavor is very... artificial. Almost syrup-y, though not in consistency. I've cold steeped teas far longer than this one and wasn't left with a syrupy flavor. The aftertaste mellows out a bit and is actually pleasant, but it's a shame since I don't drink tea for the after taste. Live and learn I guess! I enjoyed this one hot when I had it that way so that's how I'll have it next time.
I also feel that "artificial" flavor.
I'm not sure how I feel about this one. It feels a bit fake. I've sipped hot and warm.
hi and good evening everyone!! i'm almost fully recovered from my cold so to treat myself i'm making a cinnamon apple tea affogato and i'm having some mini raspberry pastries i bought at the store today! hope everyone's had or having a good day!! B)
Hi Brian, Glad to hear you are feeling better.
YAAAAAAYYYYYYY! Stitches are gone! We don’t have another follow up vet visit! We are CLEARED! She’s still in her onesie until Sunday to discourage licking but the end of the tunnel is in SIGHT.
Yes! So happy for both of you!
Thank you! Me too 😂
Elizabeth and Leia Hooray!!!!!
If we find a silver lining out of all of this - she’s handling the car better now with weekly trips.
So glad to hear this ! Back to normal pretty soon 😽
I can’t wait.
Elizabeth, that is fabulous news!
Thank you! Ten weeks and 7-8 vet visits (I lost count). I’m glad we’re in the clear
You guys...I cracked into my Masters Yun Wu and lemme tell you, it is perfection....! Holy crap, is this delicious.
I am going to give that one a go too.
I have been exploring some of the masters teas and I really like them a lot.
I loved todays tea...recently I spun the wheel and got Wepwawet (blackberry, vanilla oolong and cinnamon spice) It's on it's way...can't wait to try it.
Recently spun the wheel???
In the advance search area 🔍...type Wheel...several yellow colored wheels will pop up...select one and spin for a free sample. Another FUN thing Adagio does. You can do it once every 6 months😃
Put in an order tonight since I'm almost out of English Breakfast.....and decided to try the new Moringa and the four coffee samples from the rewards page! Restocked my Throat Therapy as well.....will need it soon!
Hmm. Another flavored tea -- smells nice in the packet, but I expect the taste to be lighter than the smell.
Yay! I am so glad you are back! Your photos are the BEST!
I'm normally part of the evening crowd. I tend to post my photo somewhere around 6-7pm US Eastern, since that's when my wife and I are here together to share the tea. Most Sundays, I can post in the morning though, because we're both off then.
Not bad, but a bit light on flavor, like I expected.
Even my husband - who doesn’t like tea - liked this one!
Just got my Adagio Kenya Washed Coffee rewards sample. Grinding some for a tasting tomorrow morning. Linda and I will have a full report ready tomorrow.
Looking forward to it !!
Looking forward to it!
Looking forward to it!
Cannot wait Jim!
I have ordered the coffee samples and will receive tomorrow. I didn’t know what to expect but you just mentioned grinding. Will I be getting coffee beans?? I hope not. I have no idea how to grind them.
I will be looking forward to it!!! 😁
Obligatory post from my phone. I enjoyed today's tea! 🫖
I drank this last night as a dessert tea.
Okay, I went ahead and got the november communitea box. I just love having something new to try every day! I was going to do the halloween sampler instead (and then vow to spend November drinking my stash) but... sounds silly but it's been helping with my weight loss journey too! Instead of mid day snacking I remember, wait I have a brand new tea to try!
I really enjoyed today’s tea. Definitely one that improved as it cooled.
Just getting my tea ready now....it has been a long day
Time to squeeze in my tea for today!
Since I wasn't a fan of this tea the way I made it, I decided to get a pumpkin spice latte for work instead. I'm gonna be here til midnight tonight, I deserve it
Yikes, reminds me of retail. No fun
Did anyone else think the tea smelled like bubble gum? Or at least that's what it reminded me of. I haven't actually smelled bubblegum in years.
Yes! I thought the same!
Well, the stupid fruit flies from the last =bunch of bananas I got give the smell a two wings up.
Careful not to oversteep, it gets very bitter
I agree with everyone on the dessert tea! A little cream and it's just delightful
I found that out on my second steep
Nite mom😘❤️ Hope you enjoyed your day.
Had a wonderful day !!!!!
I’m so fond of Adagio’s blueberry tea that I don’t really want to switch.
I've been so busy lately that I've been having trouble keeping up. But I did love this tea. I think that in general I prefer simpler teas (tea + flavour, or unflavoured) rather than the complex blends... Though there are *definitely* exceptions!
Agee completely. I enjoy comparing the different teas but I really prefer a good straight tea unadorned with sugar or cream
I think I over steeped, and probably at the wrong temp. Not my favorite so far, but didn't hate it.
Thank you Sue
I enjoyed Blackberry tea. It had a very pleasant berry flavor but Currant is still my favorite.
Reminds me a bit of jelly beans of the same flavor, the flavor was pretty strong compared to the tea yesterday!
Wow, two minutes to preserve my streak....yikes!!!
