Good morning, my good friends! It’s 8am here. I did something unusual when I posted my photo at midnight - I didn’t post a note of explanation. The night before last, I didn’t sleep well during the night. It seemed that my problematic painful joints and muscles took turns all night hurting and keeping me awake, so I was tired. Then yesterday my hubby and I went to a different senior center that has a 4-hour bingo session twice a week. For me, it was just too long to keep my right arm up and poised to mark numbers, as I have a torn tendon in that shoulder. By the time we got home, I was in agony between my right shoulder and both knees. I generally take Tylenol 500mg twice a day but yesterday afternoon I took a Vicodin left over from when I had surgery. Well, that and a little alcohol worked like magic and the pain was much reduced, but so were my motor skills! It made it difficult to type a story so after a few tries, I gave up. I’m glad to say I slept much better last night and today is a new day with much less discomfort. Sooooooo…,, this is Molly, our rescue dog whom we have had since she was a puppy. She will be 16 in April and is showing her age. Certainly her hearing and her vision are impaired, and often her gait is not so steady. However, having said that, on occasion I am amazing to watch her run lickety split around the side yard and back into the house. It makes my joints hurt just to watch her. She manages to go up the stairs at night to go to bed, although sometimes it’s a struggle, and I have been known to give her “doggy lifts.” During the day, she sleeps a lot too. I took today’s photo on Friday while my husband was at pulmonary rehab. I was sitting in his recliner with the blanket in my lap. She had only been awake since 7 and had breakfast. My husband put her in my lap before he left at 8:15, where she promptly fell asleep. She didn’t budge until 11, and then she was alert and ready to go. We don’t know how much longer Molly will be with us, so for as long as she is, we do our best to spoil her and to make sure she is as comfortable as possible. We do love her mucho! Sorry today’s photo lacked my usual tea cup - again!
