DDTS: I finished a small tin of Brian Mydwynter’s Napoleon of Crime [Moriarty], which I can’t review because it was a gift. Although it’s an EG, I really enjoyed it. The blood orange toned down the bergamot enough for this tea to be quite tasty.

Good morning CT. Well I have tonsillitis. Ive been given an antibiotic since I dont have any upper respiratory infection symptoms and just headache, as well as fatigue. Ive been told it should clear up in a few days. Thank goodness it isnt the Nimbus Covid. Today’s tea is a hard pass, I have pretty much given up on trying to find an earl grey tea I can drink without tasting soap or perfume. I do like rooibos, however, I don’t think it would help the bergamot much. I sure hope there are a lot of earl grey drinkers on the next tea swap, I will have quite a few packets for them 😅. Hope y’all have a breezy Wednesday.

Tonsillitis, boo. I had it several times as a child. The only good thing about it was the grape flavored antibiotic liquid the doctor prescribed. He made my mother aware that one more bout and I was to be scheduled for removal of the tonsils. That seemed to be the course of action prior to and into the 1970’s, yes I am that old. I never had another bout after that was talked about. My father and my one aunt both had their tonsils removed and had difficulty with upper respiratory infections afterwards. As a teenager I read that the tonsils were part of the body’s immune system response so removing them was not standard procedure anymore. I wish you a speedy recovery and make sure you take probiotics after your course of antibiotics is finished. Repopulating the good gut bacteria will help you make a full recovery.

Im an 80’s model that just turned the big 4.0. I always had bronchitis every year from the age of 11 to about 16. Always around October or November which two years I was sick with it on Halloween. Never have had tonsillitis (can’t say that now). Ive had alot of firsts this year in regards to illness and disorders. Vertigo early this year was a first as well. As far as antibiotics and probiotics I try to take them. I had a client who had C-DIFF because of antibiotics and I have been super cautious since. Talk about something that NO one wants to experience, be it the person going through it or those caring for the person who has it. I appreciate your thoughtful words and support 🥰.

My second tea of the day was Twyla’s Chocolate Tiger Pu-erh Ooo https://www.adagio.com/223885 As recommended I always mix this with Formosa Oolong in a 2:1 ratio. It’s a wonderful harkening back to Year of the Tiger Adagio blend.

For I forgot day, let's remind each other of our ways to save an oversteeped tea! I add creamer (vanilla oatmilk, heated and frothed a bit if I have time) and make a latte, BUT I hear salt works too!

Yeah bergamot is no slouch when it comes to flavor battles in blends. I am a fan of rooibos and honeybush both even if they are second only to chamomile in being a pain to clean out of my tea baskets.

Well, hubby is off and away to an agreed meeting place to give away two of our little fur babies to their new pet parents. Im such a proud “mama”. Tomorrow the other two go to their new home as well. I had white grapefruit, cold brewed. I was sad that it didn't have any grapefruit aroma or taste. It was fine as a plain white tea, but didn't hit the grapefruit flavor.
