Birthday Celebrations

The main topic of conversation on the Adagio Teas communiTEA page yesterday was celebrating the birthdays of several members, especially Christine J, Kali, and Ainajiya. Steve, I thought your photo looked like one of the native roses and Google ID said Rosa carolina which is commonly called Carolina or Pasture Rose. I ordered a plant at one point but uprooted it in short order-- too prickly with my brother's kiddos being toddler and early elementary aged at the time. We also have Japanese beetles here so I didn't want to feed them. Lovely though and I love nourishing our native bees. :)

My pic today has nothing to do with the tea. But it's a favorite artwork by Olafur Eliasson. Your Natural Denudation was created for the 1999/2000 Carnegie International. I was part of the education team who put this show together and it was such a wonderful experience. I was in the process of doing my Master's at the University of Arizona but came back to Pittsburgh that summer to intern in the education department. I'm from Follansbee, WV, which is about 45 minutes away so this was my "hometown" museum. Eliasson has since become a powerhouse in the Earthworks/Land Art realm. We're off to Aquatica today for some swimming, slipping and sliding. Hope everyone has a super Monday and Happy Sipping!

I enjoyed today’s tea. It is another hot and humid day today. The upstairs now has two fans running on high along with the ceiling fan on high. It is difficult to sleep without the extra air circulation. I am just waiting for the heat dome to move away. Yoga classes are really full because people can’t do their regular outdoor activities.

Smelled nuts as well as malt brewing the tea. It’s a good black tea. I’m sitting on the front porch sipping Summer-y Haven Heaven 444 my June friend blend pick. Enjoying the whole vibe and feeling grateful.

Today's tea is definitely a good one for me, since I prefer unflavored black teas like this and tend to like Keemun (along with Yunnan) more than some other types. Only problem is I'm getting an error when I try to add a bag to my CommuniTEA queue. I'll do an e-mail follow-up on this though, since I've written to them about this before.
