This was one of the first teas I tried from Adagio, from the Chai Teas sampler. Best one of that bunch! It’s such a different chai, so tasty. I love lemongrass and a good coconut flavor (not the artificial sunblock-like flavor many candies end up with), and Thai food and iced tea in general. If you have no aversion to any of the specific ingredients you will probably like this tea, since you can taste them all. I haven’t tried it iced but plan to when the iced tea bags are restocked.

I've been wondering if Adagio had a good coconut chai, and the communitea has provided my answer! Chai and coconut blend really well, and the lemongrass adds a nice brightness to this. It's a nice base, but I think I would doctor it at home with some more coconut black tea and a few extra spices (cloves and cardamom) to really make it my perfect coconut chai.

This is nice twist on chai. The lemongrass and coconut add a bit of spunk and mellowness all at the same time! I definitely think this one needs the doctoring recommended. I used oat milk and brown sugar. This makes it decadent and almost dessert-like. I'm a fan of anything Thai (food, music, art, etc.) so I'm not surprised I like Thai Chai too. Happy Sipping!

Communitea Sample: Interesting chai combination. I do like coconut.

Tasting along with the CommuniTEA today: Strong coconut, ginger and cardamom scents wafting from the dry ingredients and packet. Once steeped for 3 mins at 190°F (to minimize black tea tannins), ginger and cardamom with subtle coconut essence tickle the nose. When I take a sip, I notice a complex spicy mixture of earthy spice. Although these is no pepper listed in the ingredients, I get a peppery spice with the ginger that clears the sinuses, and an earthy-lemony-cardamom finish. The lemongrass could be stronger and would be if I had steeped longer than 3 minutes.

I really want to like Chai. I've tried putting honey to make it taste better but it doesn't do anything for me. My boyfriend enjoys chais more, he enjoys savory things more. He enjoyed the sip I gave him. It is agreed between us that the lemongrass does nothing good for the tea however. It makes the idea of 'drink this cold' even though I am very adamant about not drinking cold Chai tea

This is a nicely spiced and well balanced chai without any astringency. It's flavorful but no single flavor hits you over the head. Ginger and cinnamon are most prominent, and the coconut gives it more body than the average chai. I added sugar and coconut milk since I enjoy those in other chai teas, but found I actually preferred this chai black as it allowed the flavors to come through more clearly and it already had some creaminess from the coconut. The second steep was mostly ginger and cinnamon without much black tea or coconut flavor. This is a very easy to drink tea with a little bit of a bite that makes me excited for the next cup!

The first thing I smelled when opening my packet was coconut and cinnamon. The directions recommend 2 heaping spoonfuls of tea per 8oz cup, but I only received one spoonful of tea in my packet. As I don't own a tiny cup, I opted to steep this tea longer than recommended (8 min at 212F).
While hot, I mainly tasted and smelled cinnamon. After the tea cooled a little, I tasted a lot more coconut. I believe the ginger and cardamom flavors were present, but they acted more like backup to the stronger coconut and cinnamon flavors. The cinnamon and ginger also leave a spicy feeling on your tongue.
I drank today's tea with a little sugar to account for the bitterness that comes with over steeping black tea, but I left out the cream.

I'm generally not big on coconut in teas, but this combination makes a decent tropical treat. Nice coconut and cinnamon flavors in the forefront with lemongrass playing nicely in the background.

What a tasty chai today! I was pleasantly surprised by the lift of flavor the lemon grass gave to the traditional chai spices in this tea. I had two large pieces of coconut in my CommuniTEA packet which made this cuppa extra smooth and creamy. With some honey sweetening, this was a real treat for me. I never made it to the fridge for the milk to add as I had drained the cup in no time. Same for the resteep of 6 oz. at 200F for 5 min. too!
A kaleidoscope of chai and lemongrass scents greeted me as I opened my packet today. 3 g/ 2 tsp of loose tea was brewed at 200F for 4 min. In a 12 oz. cup. It appeared that all ingredients were there and made a cloudy dark golden liquor (the coconut likes to leave its creamy fingerprint with some cloudiness.) The black tea base gave a nice heft to the airy lemongrass as it mingled with the tastes of cinnamon, ginger, and cardamom. The coconut smoothed all flavors. I didn’t detect any bitterness or astringency. It just was a nicely balanced and flavorful spicy lemon sip. I can thank CommuniTEA for the chance to try this chai. I had looked at it many times and passed on it even as a chai lover. I wasn’t sure about the lemon flavor but now I’m a fan! So yet another chai will soon join the others in my growing pantry chai town.

I feel like I should say straight out of the gate, I do not like chai teas. Ginger in tea is not my thing at all. So I kind of hated this tea, personally. However...when I review a tea for the CommuniTEA, I try to look at it objectively so that someone who DOES like chai (I can't imagine someone who doesn't looking through the reviews for guidance on whether or not to buy this blend) would be able to use my review to help them decide if they should purchase or sample it.
That established, I found this to be a pretty bland chai overall. I'm temporarily on a diet that's restrictive enough that I couldn't add the suggested coconut milk or sugar, so I can't say I got the suggested experience out of it; this review is based on drinking it naked.
I don't much care for coconut normally, but the coconut flavor in this particular chai complimented it more than overpowered it.
I didn't get any of the lemongrass flavor until the aftertaste started to kick in, and at that point, it started to really shine.
For me, the ginger kind of overtakes most of the other flavors until you get to the aftertaste or if you let it sit in your mouth for a few seconds to savor it before swallowing your sip.
The texture is, in fact, creamy even without adding the suggested coconut milk, which was an interesting experience, admittedly. Tasting the mild flavors while getting that creamy mouthfeel was an unexpected dichotomy that pleasantly surprised me.
Finally, I would definitely recommend finishing this while it's hot. I got distracted mid-tasting/reviewing with some urgent work stuff and by the time I got to the latter half of my mug, it had gone to the cooler end of the tepid spectrum...and was NOT pleasant, in my opinion. It felt like it had gone quite flatter and the flavors held off a bit longer before making themselves known, so it was almost like when I first sipped, I was sipping room temperature water that smelled like ginger...and then after I swallowed, my tastebuds went 'OHHHH no, okay, this is tea, got it' as opposed to just tasting it right when I sipped.
Objectively speaking, if you like coconut and chai teas, this is a really cool tea and you should definitely give it a go. I'd never drink it again personally, but I'm not the target audience for this particular tea. It's worth a shot if you're a spicy tea fan, for sure, even if coconut isn't necessarily your thing.

I'm not typically a chai fan, so I wasn't sure what to expect when I saw the list of ingredients. I was pleasantly surprised by the aroma wafting out of my packet - the coconut and lemongrass were prominent along with the typical cinnamon and ginger bite. Based on the description, I intentionally used a little less water and added stevia and vanilla almond milk from the start. It was a pretty tasty cup of tea! The coconut and lemongrass are definitely key players, although as the tea cools the cinnamon gets really spicy and takes over. An enjoyable sip.

This is a wonderfully creamy, tropical treat! Steep it strong, sweeten and add a generous dollop of cream! The coconut and lemongrass play along beautifully with each other. The ginger is just right-not too sharp! This is well balanced and delightful. Well done!

This isn't as strong as a typical masala chai with a black tea base, but does have all of the cinnamon, clove, and ginger spice that I would expect from a chai blend. It's a nice amount of spice and warmth, with some added creamy sweetness from the coconut. The lemongrass didn't come through much in the aroma, but does add some brightness to the flavor without being too lemon-y. The body is pretty light, but silky smooth with very little astringency. It was pretty sweet on its own, but being a chai blend I tried it with a little sugar as well and it was good that way too. Halfway through my cup I added a little coconut oil as some had suggested in the CommuniTEA chat, and it added a lot of richness and depth and played off the coconut flavors in the tea really well. I could see this also being good iced, so definitely will be buying more.

Or
Exotic chai tea?; Can that even be a thing; it is now, Thai Chai!

Wonderful aroma. The different flavors play well together. This was a pleasant morning sip. 190° F for 3 minutes. 1/2 tsp rock sugar crystals and a splash of half and half.

The aroma from this brewed blend is very enticing. The ginger, coconut and lemongrass smell so good. The taste of the tea is well balanced with all the ingredients coming through and none dominating. It has a smooth mouth feel helped by the cardamom, with a good amount of zing from the ginger, warming touches from cinnamon and a lingering taste of the tropics from the coconut. A really nice spiced tea!

The addition of lemongrass really spikes this chai up to another level. With half n half and sucralose it was delicious and would have earned its five stars right then - but then I saw that one of my CommuniTEA members thought to try it bullet style, with a bit of coconut oil, and I tried that too... and WOW. What a fantastic cup.

Chai is my fiend, not to be confused with friend. Thai Chai with Coconut is an interesting addition, but not for me. This tea is great if you prefer cream over straight with sweetener.

One of the best chais I’ve ever tasted. the lemongrass brightens the chai flavor while the coconut keeps it all very smooth. No need for cream or sweetener though they will turn this delightful brew into a decadent treat.

If you want to enjoy this tea without milk or sugar, I enjoyed it brewed at 1 tsp per cup. Even at that, the spices pack quite a kick, similar to many other chai teas at Adagio. This one is significant for a smooth coconut taste noted most at the beginning and end of each sip. Warming spices leave a pleasant tongue-tingling long after the tea is downed. As a plain tea, I enjoy the subtlety of White Ayurvedic chai a bit more, but if you want a tea with strong coconut or the ability to stand up to cream and sugar, this one is great.

A decent cup of tea! I didn't think I'd care for this one as much as I did. It's light and spicy. I enjoyed it with a splash of milk and honey.

One of the best teas I've had here! Coconut and lemongrass are probably one of my favorite combinations now because of this tea. I'll probably buy it again.

I found that the coconut flavor and the lemon grass flavor were out of balance. I think less lemon grass and more coconut would make it better for me.

This tea was good but not my favorite. I love the coconut but the lemon was to strong for me. Overall a good chai tea.

The absolute best chai tea for making chai tea lattes. Use milk, brown sugar, and vanilla creamer. Tea is also good on its own!

It's pretty good. Of all the chai's I've tried from Adagio, so far, this is the best one I've found. Add a little cream and sugar and it's bomb. Downside is it takes double the amount to steep, so keep in mind when buying.

Still wanting spice and flavor this evening, though I more than likely should have cut the caffeine. Started thinking that I might want to try some of the “straightforward” teas so I can figure out what flavors are bothering me in some of the blends. Granted this isn’t exactly a straightforward tea. But it’s certainly one I’m enamored of. It’s rich and flavorful, and has a warm spiced aftertaste that stays for a bit. Is also a nice compliment with Indian dinner. Once again am finding more that will be stocking my shelves...

I really didn't expect the coconut flavor to come through as well as it did, and it's wonderful! I was surprised by how the coconut seems to erase any bitterness I usually get from over-steeping my tea (I tend to forget and let my tea steep for hours rather than minutes). The lemongrass is lovely and fragrant as well. The only thing is that sometimes the pieces of coconut are a little too big to fit inside my tea ball, but that's really not that big of a deal. Delicious chai, a new favorite.
