Delicious— I add vanilla sugar cubes for a little extra vanilla flavor.

Delicious. I make this one extra sweet and creamy. It has a wonderfully sharp spiciness to it

Holiday spices united once again to make this delicious Rooibos chai tea. The star players ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and cardamom made a strong fragrant presence upon opening my CommuniTEA packet today. A generous portion of golden spiced nuggets tumbled out which I steeped at 200F for 7 minutes. A beautiful tawny-colored tea resulted, nose fragrant with a full-on spicy taste to follow. When hot this was a zippy sip and as it cooled the orange and vanilla flavors come out of hiding a bit. I added honey but didn't add milk which is always a great option for chai. I chose instead for a no-frills slightly sweetened sipping experience.

For chai lovers, this Rooibos tea base provides mellow bedding for all the spices to blend and shine without any background astringency. This chai flavor is a favorite alongside Golden Turmeric Chai. Both are decaf and full of flavor.

Deliciously smooth and spiced! I enjoyed this cup of tea and no caffeine makes it a fun choice for the evening

This tea, for me, has a pronounced cinnamon flavor, which seems to give it some heat. It is a strong tea, and yet pleasant, like a hug in a glass. 200F for ten minutes.

Assertively, unapologetically flavorful and spicy! Vanilla and rooibos are a good combo to begin with but this is a masterwork if you love a robust chai.

Straight up; not so much.
Touch of cream and tad of sugar; absolutely knocked it out of the park!
Perfect wintertime tea!

We are splitting this week’s communitea - so you are getting three reviews in one. We have two teen tea drinkers and one likes it, one thinks it would be better with honey and I really like it. It has a little spicy after taste, like cinnamon :) (aka tree bark ;))

I'm not a fan of the cloves in this, but overall it's a tasty alternative to traditional chai black teas.

CommuniTEA sample: 7 min @ 212, second steep for 10 min @ 212. I feel like this tea is a little weak in flavor, although they do recommend adding extra spoonful of the blend to the water when you're brewing. So my review might not be as informed as it could be. I added three grams of crystal rock sugar to help bring out some of the flavor, and it kind of worked. Gave it a nice, crystallized ginger kind of vibe. I didn't really get much flavor from the cinnamon, and I found the vanilla to be a little bit overwhelming. But the ginger, cloves, and cardamom all paired really well with the rooibos, and I thought the orange was a good addition as well. I would prefer it a little bit stronger, and I will try to reduce the amount of water I use next time.

Update: This a nice spiced blend. I brewed this for 15 minutes and that seemed to help along with the spices, to cover up the normal medicinal taste of the red rooibos.
Today's communiTEA sample was heavy on the cloves. I added sweetener and cream to tone it down. I'm still not a fan of rooibos.

I really enjoyed this combo, I’m a big fan of rooibos and found the flavors to come through nicely

This tea has the best taste ever.
It’s like having a decadent dessert. (Only better).
My husband and I have been searching for this tea for years.

I discovered this tea right before the pandemic. It is easily my favorite tea of all time. The color is bright and cheery, the aroma is sweet and spiced at the same time. The flavor is fresh and full bodied. It’s not technically a sleepy time tea but it is an integral part of my evening wind down. I do 2 teaspoons per cup because I like it a little more bold. I love all of the simple fresh ingredients. 10/10 if you love chai and vanilla this is the tea for you.

Not for me, this tea is well-spiced, but the vanilla doesn't do it for me. I don't tend to like very many Rooibos teas, so that may be part of it too.

It is so important to read the suggestion for brewing. My first cup I did not enjoy but I only steeped for about 5 minutes. The second cup I steeped at 8 minutes and the flavor really came through. Another perfectly balanced blend.

Chai is not my favorite cup of tea!! It was okay but a bit strong Update. I really enjoyed this tea today.

Very nice tea for the holiday season, with the chai spices blended with sweet vanilla.

This tea was a nice, slightly lighter, version of masala chai with the added bonus of being caffeine free. Brewed at 212 for 10 min with 1 packet of splenda

I like rooibos and I like chai but I did not care much for this combination. Upon opening the packet the aroma was mostly clove with a faint hint of citrus. The hot tea was too bitter and slightly oily tasting. Chilling it improved the flavor but I just did not enjoy this tea.

While I don't care for red rooibos teas, my husband said this wasn't bad. I took a sip and was met with what I expected from the tea, and it was okay, not something I would choose. I do try to give the samples a fair chance, no matter what's in the packet.

The rooibos adds a rich sweetness to this fragrant chai and since it's caffeine free I can enjoy this anytime. I definitely recommend this as a n Autumn and Winter go-to staple.

Very good. Strong chai flavors. Didn't necessarily notice the vanilla but that was okay with me. Great with a splash of cream and small amount of brown sugar as well.

So warming and spicy! This is great to break up your everyday go to tea with. It has a slight bitterness to it that is easily cut with just a tad of honey.

It's a nice vanilla chia without the caffeine for when I want to have a late night tea that isn't herbal. Sweet, smooth, with notable vanilla flavor.

Tastes like steeped peppercorns. Is that what Chai is supposed to taste like? Never bought Chai before. I don't recommend this one. I can't taste the vanilla at all.

★★★★★

If you like chai tea, you will LOVE this rooibos vanilla chai. The chai is perfect and the vanilla is decadent. You want to sit in front of a fireplace and enjoy every sip.

Rooibos vanilla chai is a perfect cup on its own, but try it in a mug of hot apple cider for an easy and elevated mulled cider.

★★★★☆

Another Rooibos Chai variant, again similarly to the pumpkin chai, there isn't a pronounced vanilla flavor. It's still a nice chai option, but it doesn't have a strong vanilla flavor.

It was neither bad, nor good, just decent, wish the 'chai' ingredient would have been more prominent though...

★★★★☆

The first impression is that this tea has too much vanilla for me. It is a chai and it is caffeine free, so it's pretty great to cozy up with a cup of this with a book before bed. I like my masala chai spicy and potent, so that it would wake me up even before the caffeine kicks in. This one doesn't do that, it makes me feel toasty and want to sleep instead, which isn't a bad thing.

This tea is perfect for a cozy experience, I drink it especially at night (it's decaf)! My kids love this tea with a bit of milk and honey. The spices are rich and fragrant.

the cinnamon and ginger are way too overpowering here. i was really hoping for a 'vanilla chai' flavor, but its just ginger cinnamon. i dont recommend.

This is a good decaf option, yet the spice blend still provides a bit of a pick-me-up. A cozy tea for reading on the weekend or evening.

Didn’t do it for me, it just seemed overall to be too mild in everything (as a tea it was alright, but the flavors around it didn’t come through enough for a chai tea). It is drinkable but I need my chais strong and spicy.
