Not my favorite blend but alright with some cream and sugar. Not an overly strong clove/ginger flavor but still too much for me lol @adagioteas
Our Golden Turmeric Chai features earthy turmeric with the warming spiciness of ginger, cinnamon, clove, and a hint of fennel. Suggested serving is one teaspoon per cup of water or milk for a golden milk latte!

Not my favorite blend but alright with some cream and sugar. Not an overly strong clove/ginger flavor but still too much for me lol @adagioteas
2022-01-23 Update: A strong spiced scent tickled our noses as we opened the packet. We chose to steep this one in a glass teapot to avoid staining from the Turmeric. A 7-minute steep created a delightfully yellow and spiced turmeric chai. It made a nice caffeine-free sip for the evening!
2021-02-01 CommuniTEA review:
This is a great non-caffeinated tisane made with Turmeric. Turmeric contains Curcumin, which has been studied for various medical benefits. It is known that taking Turmeric / Curcumin with Piperine (contained in Black Pepper) increases bioavailability by 2000%.
While making a standard 'golden milk' preparation with powdered or fresh Turmeric is much more potent, this tisane has a lot of the same beneficial qualities, this tisane is milder and more palatable even without sweetener.
Adding some honey & milk to it brings the flavor closer to a decaf chai tea. We'll definitely have to add this one to our tea shelf!
A really interesting and tasty blend. This tasted mostly of ginger. The turmeric had no taste, but gave the tea a nice golden color. I tried adding 1/4 teaspoon of stevia to my cup. This covered up all of the sharpness of the ginger and brought out the cinnamon. I preferred it without the sweetener.
Interesting combination. Would make a great latte
Tried as a CommuniTEA sample. I wasn't sure I was going to like this but it turned out that I love it. It's really delicious on it's own and even better with add ins. I enjoyed with coconut milk, coconut oil and some extra spices. It makes an excellent latte.
Deliciously comforting blend of cinnamon and chai! Definitely warmed my stomach and heart, bringing a smile to my face. I am grateful the turmeric was not overpowering, at it can me a strong flavor.
Turmeric as a chai is not bad. I would drink this tea a few times a month for Its health benefits. Steep 5 minutes: Temp 212: 1 tsp Sweetener:
I think I have tried this before but didn't review it. I love a good Chai and this one is caffeine free. The color is beautiful and the spices are in the right amount.
I drink turmeric teas for the health benefits rather than the taste. However, I think I will try a sweetened golden milk latte next to see if it improves the appeal. Overall, this was a nice blend.
My Communitea sample had 3 cloves and a nice, spicy scent. Due to the sample size, I made a smaller cup than usual to maintain the flavors. The scent plain was wonderful but didn't smell like something I would want to drink, odd but true. Added a touch of milk and sugar, took a sip and loved it. Usually drink my tea plain but could see having this one as a special treat.
As a teacher, I learned that sometimes giving students too much freedom in a project can backfire. When too many factors are left undefined, students can become overwhelmed. They don't know where to begin. That's how I felt about today's CommuniTEA offering. I knew I wanted to try my hand at a golden milk latte, but the possibilities seemed endless...to steep in hot milk or to steep in water and add warmed milk? How much? How long? Too many options. I decided to heat 8 ounces of milk with the scant 1 teaspoon of tea from my pouch, removed it from the heat, and then, let it steep for five more minutes. I strained the mix into my cup and added a little honey. The result? The milk had turned a lovely sunshine yellow. The flavors, though, were muted. Certainly, I could detect the sort of mustiness of turmeric, but it was subtle and muddled with the other spices, all of which were muted by the milk. More sweetener may have helped, but I opted not to add more. Though I don't see myself buying this herbal concoction, I would not be averse to the chance to sample it and play again.
This is the perfect tea to make a golden milk chai. After brewing half-a-cup with water, I added honey and oat milk. The perfect evening beverage and tomorrow, inflammation in my muscles will probably be reduced by the turmeric. HUGE WIN from a simple cup of tea!
I love this as my go-to chai. Tumeric has great anti-inflammatory properties
There was spice, a kick and it tasted nice. I would have probably preferred it as a late as some mentioned but I just had it straight. It seemed more muddled and grainy than I prefer my chai teas to be and it definitely seems more on the spectrum of 'I drink this to be healthy' and not for pure enjoyment.
On first opening my CommuniTEA packet, I was a little hesitant. But after brewing it for 4 minutes @ 200 in about 10 oz of water, I added a packet of sweetener and a splash of cream, and YUM. I see how golden lattes became a thing! I did do a second steep today but added a spoon of Cream, and that was pretty good too. I’m sure that breaks some sort of rule (does the black tea cancel out some of the turmeric benefits?), but it could also be interesting to explore further.
I’m glad I waited until the end of the day to make this. It gave me a chance to read how everyone else in the communiTEA steeped this. It seems no one uses the same method! I steeped in my ingenuitea with 4 oz water and 6oz hot 2% milk and a bit of stevia for 6 minutes. Afterwards, I frothed. I liked this better than I expected. The chai aspect was milder than a typical chai (though I don’t usually add milk to typical chais so that could be a factor). While I’m not a huge fan of turmeric in cooking, there was an almost sweetness to this that was unexpectedly pleasant. I wouldn’t mind if this shows up in front of me again, but probably won’t purchase on my own.
This tea is great love the spices. (190 5 min.) 🫖☕️
yummy! this was definitely a unique tea. i brewed it in a cup of milk over the stovetop with sugar to taste, then frothed it with a hand whisk for a delicious little chai latte! perfect for a chilly day
I didn’t know what to expect with this tea since I’ve never tried a turmeric tea before and I’m not a big fan of chai. Read through the reviews beforehand and took everyone’s suggestions about making it a latte. It was actually pretty good! The chai flavors were mild and it was interesting overall. This might suit me for that “something different” when I’ve gotten in a flavor rut, but it doesn’t really satisfy a craving for a regular, good ole’ cup of tea.
CommuniTEA Sample: This tea is just OK for me. Not spicy enough for a chai and turmeric is a bit buried. A boost of flavor could really help this one as it seemed pretty mild overall. Not bad, but not quite in that sweet spot of flavor.
What a delicious and beautiful blend of golden spice! I made a Golden Milk latte using this Golden Turmeric Chai blend for the base flavor. When I make a latte I add a steamed almond milk froth to the tea (sweetened with maple syrup). I like to use a heaping teaspoon to one and a half teaspoons per 8 oz of Golden turmeric chai . I like a strong turmeric flavor that will shine even with the addition of almond milk and maple syrup. In my opinion, this chai tea blend was better to use as the base for a Golden milk latte than the Turmeric bliss blend. I love, love Turmeric Bliss! I keep some on hand at all times, but the unique and strong Turmeric kick gets lost with the addition of milk. The Golden Turmeric Chai was perfectly spiced to shine through a latte. I started drinking Turmeric tea for health reasons, but now I just love the unique taste. This blend reminds me of a tea straight from India. Strong, Golden and Smooth! 205 for 7 min.
I very much enjoy this tea as a latte. I love all the spices and the health benefits they provide. I use 2 tsp of tea, steeped in 4 oz of 212° water for 5-10 minutes. I add 1tsp of honey to the hot tea. Using my milk frother I heat and froth up some unsweetened plain oat milk then add that to my tea. Super delicious.
This is a nice cup of tea when double concentrated and made into a latte. The milk and honey tone down the turmeric flavor a bit and brings a bit of balance to the tea. Lovely ginger, cinnamon, and clove flavors dance around your mouth. Subtle fennel flavors in the background with zingy pepper on the finish. This is also yummy steeped in milk. I let is steep for 10-15 mins in milk though and still use a double concentration. Haven’t tried it in any recipes yet, but that is the next experiment. Cheers!
This is a nice turmeric chai. Soft on the spices and soothing on the throat, it's a bit more cinnamon-forward and and than some other chai blends. While the ginger is pretty mild in comparison, the peppercorn finish is noticeable, a nice touch. When brewed at 1 tsp per cup, this is not overwhelming in terms of the turmeric, but still a warming, pleasant sip. Compared to other turmeric blends which seem so herby that they can cure a cold with a sip, this one seems lighter and more balanced. In terms of a chai, I would probably prefer a stronger spice profile overall, though admittedly I've been drinking a lot of stronger chais lately and might have gotten desensitized. Even if it's subtle for a chai, when it comes to a unique and pleasant turmeric tea, this one is pretty good.
I used to hate turmeric but then reviewed all the heath benefits and realized I had to like it. I over brewed this and it still was amazing. This is not a throw-up in your mouth turmeric blend. It is savory, slightly spicy and sweet...very balanced. If you like Clevr turmeric lattes or Harney's golden milk you will love this tea version. The chai isn't over bearing either (note I am not a chai fan).
Update 1/23/22:
I’ve really grown to love this tea, even plain. It’s in my arsenal to combat inflammation.
1/2/21:
I had recently tried tumeric tea (in water) from traditional medicinals, and found it wasn’t my cup of tea. Glad I had the opportunity to try chai spiced tumeric tea. Between the spices and the milk, it was a completely different experience. I made this on the stove with milk (1/3 vanilla almond milk, 2/3 whole milk) and it’s pretty good. It could actually use more spices for my taste, or maybe I needed to steep longer than 5 minutes. Halfway through sipping I added a bit of honey, and that definitely made it even more enjoyable. I’d try it again and play with the preparation (or more closely follow one of the many preps suggested by others).
Very good, very smooth chai...and also good for you...
I must not have had a good mixture in my CommuniTEA packet. This was kind of bland to me. Maybe I'll buy a sample and try it again.
Love this chai.Steeped for 15 mins @ 180°. It is a beautiful yellow liquor. A little spice is nice. This was a very pleasant cup of herbal tea, I think my new favorite of the adagio herbals. The turmeric and ginger are in balance with each other. The cinnamon stays in the background and a bit of clove and a pepper zing come through on the finish. I take turmeric ginger and pepper herbs in capsule form every day. This tea would be a pleasant addition. Yummy!
I am very picky about my chai teas. On that note this chai was amazing. It was warm and wonderful. I loved how all the flavors worked together.
I’m not a turmeric fan and I don’t really adore chais either, so I didn’t have high hopes for this brew. It definitely wasn’t my palette. It was too spicy, in a bad way. I honestly just didn’t get much flavor beyond the mustiness of the turmeric and the overly spicy nature of the black peppercorn. I’m sure others will like this one and take my review with a grain of salt. Happy Sipping!
I am really enjoying this tea. Reminds me of chai but with a slightly different spice flavor.
Jan 23, 2022 With this year's CommuniTEA portion, I made a latte, without sugar, and it was delicious! The spiciness was tamed down a bit, but the smooth, earthy flavor really shines. Comfort in a cup!
Jan 2, 2021 Very nice, spicy blend. It smells of earthy turmeric and cinnamon. The cloudy brew tastes of turmeric and spicy ginger with a zap of peppercorns and the spice of cloves and the smooth warmth of cinnamon. Didn't get much fennel thankfully, as it's not a favorite flavor. The zip of the ginger and pepper lingers after sipping. Would love to try this as a non-dairy latte next time.
CommunityTEA packet: I like the turmeric for health reasons. Golden Turmeric
Chai taste is very unique and kind of taste like (tiny bit of) perfume, with all the spices. I do enjoy the golden color and the flavor of this chai. Steep 5 minutes: 1 tsp of Sweetener: Temp 212
This was delicious! I love turmeric and ended up turning this into a dirty chai. Excellent decision
New haiku review:
Spicy, Yellow Tea
Such a unique taste to me
I sip merrily
Distinctive, for sure
A taste I’ve come to like more
An aches and pains cure
Old review: So unique, and so hard for me to review. As a tea with turmeric, I found this to be distinctive, I made this with milk, and it was absolutely golden. I wanted to try this, as I never have had turmeric before, but hear it is good for many ailments. A good tasting medicine, but not a go to cup for me, if that makes sense. However, if I need turmeric in my diet, this is 100% the way I would choose to get it!
Great tea!
This tea is very delicious. I made mine into a latte and it was so good, not to spicy just the perfect amount of chai spices.
This is one of my favorite chai teas. It brews a sunny yellow with some cloudiness from the chai spices and makes a beautiful golden latte with warmed milk. A wonderful and tasty way to add healthy turmeric to your diet too.
My CT packet had 4 g/ 1 ¾ tsp of herbs and spices in various shades of brown and beige. I brewed 12 oz. at 212*F for 5 min. The first hot sip had a nice mix of turmeric, ginger and fennel flavors at the front end with a strong clove taste and pleasant peppercorn zing to finish. A sweetener add elevated the flavors for an extra sweet and spicy deliciousness. A resteep of 6 oz. was more clove forward. Chilled, the tisane had a much mellower chai taste with all flavors well blended. It made a surprisingly good iced tea. This is a wonderful caffeine free chai to enjoy for a cozy and re energizing cuppa and sweet fennel seems just right for winter.
I don't know what it is with this chai. I've had awful experiences drinking turmeric tea, but I guess the spices hid any taste of turmeric in this tea. I took a few swigs of the chai straight before making myself a latte with it. If you don't like turmeric, do make the latte just garnish your froth milk with your favorite spice commonly found in chais. Consider the four stars generous given that turmeric is supposed to be the star.
Open the bag and breathe in turmeric, ginger, cloves, cinnamon, fennel, and peppercorn. It’s all there. Others have said that they find it spicy with a kick. I find it to be mild and a pleasant way to end the day.
I enjoy most turmeric teas, however the Chai in this is too much for me
I was astonished to find how much I enjoyed this tea -- I purchased it after trying other varieties of turmeric tea (having heard of the myriad health benefits). Other brands are weak (incredibly so) by comparison. Yet, this tea isn t overpowering, either. This is the only turmeric tea I ll be buying, and I ve found that adding hot almond milk is my favorite way to prepare it. @adagioteas
This has a fabulous and satisfying flavor profile. It is not overwhelming but still packs a punch of flavor.
Wonderful decaf chai. Won't kill the turmeric flavor if you're sensitive to it, but it has a nice strong spice flavor. Good choice for a latte. Tastes good mixed with Thai Chai if you're into caffeine.
This is a really pretty golden chai that tastes very spicy and turmeric forward. The other spices like ginger and fennel really compliment the turmeric.
This tea is just okay for my tastes. The turmeric is a little bit flat, and the chai spice is not strong enough to kick it up a notch. If I had only one amendment, I wish this blend contained more ginger.
Warm and comforting tea. I didn’t like the aroma at first but the taste is divine.
Love turmeric. This has a unique taste to it. Im really liking the chai, I didn’t think I was a fan, but I guess I can call myself a chai drinker!
The flavor of this tea is so nice. I really enjoy that it is caffeine free so that I can feel comfortable drinking it at night. With so many healthful ingredients, it's a really nice tea to enjoy while knowing it is boosting my immune system for the winter.
