I like this tea but it isnt chocolaty really. Maybe a tad lackluster on its own, but the cinnamon and ginger pair very well and I add a sprig of chocolate mint and then it's perfect. That hint of chocolate mint really tuens the key.
Exotic Masala Chai flavors from India paired with dark chocolate. Soothing cocoa, zesty warmth, seamless texture.

I really wanted to like this. I should have loved this but I didn’t find anything special about it. None of the flavors were especially strong. Really disappointed
I was excited to try this one as some referred to it as a Mexican hot chocolate. It was good but not enough chocolate for my liking.
I didn't expect to love this one but I really found it delicious. It brought me down a nostalgic path of spiced hot chocolates. Yum!
This blend is exactly what I was hoping for! The spices are subtle, and the chocolate is a nice hint of sweetness. It’s so smooth with cream added in!
I always like to have a chai on hand in the autumn especially, and this chocolate chai is one of my favorites. The cocoa notes add a depth which provides a lovely backdrop to the warmth of the spices.
Try it, you'll like it. It's the perfect blend of chocolate and spice. Perfect on a cold winter day.
Loved this was some raw sugar or drop or two of hazelnut, also pairs well with most any short bread I have tried it with.
This is hands down my absolute favorite tea! Around Christmas I add eggnog instead of place of sugar and milk for the perfect holiday beverage
My mom and husband both wanted to try this. Very much a cozy winter blend. I'm enjoying the addition of chocolate to a classic chai as well.
This was a nice variation on chai with the addition of chocolate. It would remind me of a Mexican hot chocolate that my family sometimes made in winter. I did add about 1/2 tsp of Splenda to mine, and imagine a spot of cream would be nice. Next time I'm going to add more tea to my bag to see if it will hold up to a second brew.
I was so excited to get this one. I can't remember where it was I originally tried chocolate chai, but this lives up to my memory. I like making it with hot milk and water for a wintertime treat.
Chocolate chai- has such a nice cinnamon and chocolate scent. I at first brewed this at 3 minutes like the bag said, but was underwhelmed. For my second cup I brewed at 5 minutes and that was a huge improvement. I used brown sugar and that gave a little 'pop' to the hint of chocolate taste. It doesn't need milk, but it's also good with.
This tea is a nice change. I enjoy drinking this tea at work. It’s very refreshing. I plan on reordering this tea soon.
The chocolate makes this very smooth and tasty. I'm not usually a bit chai fan, but I like this one.
This is my favorite chocolate tea from adagio, although there are a number of good choices. The chai spices don’t overpower the chocolate taste.
A black tea with cinnamon, ginger, cocoa nibs, and chocolate. It is delicious!! The chocolate and spices go together very well! It is one of my favorite kinds of chai! I look forward to the next time I drink it.
Love it! It's spicy but not overly so, and the chocolate taste is not overpowering. It's subtle and lets the chai come through nicely. It smells so good! The spice comes through. You most definitely know it's chai by smell alone.
I think that Im just not a fan of that artificial chocolate flavor. It just gives off a "funk" that i cant get past. However, since my kids actually enjoyed this tea, I'll still give it 3 stars.
This is very reminiscent of a Mexican hot chocolate. It is the perfect tea for colder fall weather.
Very yummy warm. Nice cooler weather treat. I love that they let you buy samples of teas here. Makes picking the right one so much easier.
Update: I ended up ordering 3 oz so I could experiment, and this tea turned out flavorful and perfect when I used 1 1/2 tsp per 7 oz--it just needed a little boost. (You could probably even try double strength.) Now it's right up there with my favorites. I love Adagio's chai.
This tea has a delicious flavor, but it’s really light. I used four grams in eight oz of water/milk to make a chai latte, and it’s super pale and the flavor is faint. (But again, the flavor I’m getting is really tasty.) The blend in my CommuniTEA packet might have been a little off. I think I’ll order a sample of this sometime to see if it’s better at double strength.
I really like this chai but it has a hint of something that keeps me from loving it. It’s better blended and I sometimes pair it with vegan chai ice cream.
It's good chai, but it varies so much from cup to cup. Sometimes you get a nice chocolatey flavor with all the spice, other times the spice overwhelms the more delicate chocolate flavor. If it was more consistent, I would rate it higher, but the variability makes each cup a bit of a mystery.
This chai tea is a wonderful blend that amplifies the hint of chocolate without being overpowering.
Delicious, chai flavor could have been stronger but still flavorful
Oh! This is delicious! Spicy and chocolate. A wonderful combination. A great tea to sample today, my 74th birthday! 212F for three minutes.
I'm not huge on spiced tea, but this was nice. I could go for a bit more chocolate to balance the spice, however it was overall a very nice blend. Steeped at 204° for 3 minutes with 1/4 tsp honey and a splash of half & half.
Let me start off by saying: I don’t like Chai or spiced tea and generally avoid ginger. That being said, I didn’t hate it but I also didn’t finish it. It smelled pleasant before brewing, and wasn’t overly spiced like other chai I’ve had. There was a hint of chocolate, not too much - however I think it helped the flavor.
I think this would be good if you’re into chai, hence 3 stars instead of less - not for me, but I wouldn’t say it’s bad.
This one smells amazing out of the bag and while steeping. After tasting it I did find the chocolate notes to be a little delicate for my preference. It is still an awesome chai. After tasting it with zero additives I decided I wanted to see what flavors I could coax out of my cup so added a small amount of sweetener and milk. It definitely brought forward more of those chocolate/cocoa notes. So in the end I wouldn't go out of my way to get this one specifically, but will definitely drink it when it comes around in the CT. 212° 3 min
I liked this way more than I thought I would. This is one of those that I will absolutely return to regularly. Deliciously smooth, curbs the sugar cravings, and nicely caffeinated. This is a WIN!
I'm on the edge for this, it's lacking flavor in my opinion, but I'm willing to try it again... perhaps using more tea for a typical stove top methodology. Mine is tasting more of my almond milk than chocolate, but the spice is nice. It may need more sweetener than my extra portion of rock sugar crystals, to bring out the flavors.
I probably wouldn't have ordered it myself but it does taste nice. I didn't have to add any sugar or anything it was ready to go after steeping.
CommuniTEA sample: 3 min @ 212 F. There is a lot of ginger in this blend, and I like ginger! I can feel the natural spiciness of it, and it pairs well with the cinnamon and the darker aspects of the cocoa nibs! I found the first cup to have a lot of the smooth, creamy aspects of the chocolate flavor, but some nice warmth from the cinnamon and ginger. I feel the cocoa nibs and the Ceylon both have some slightly fruity notes, but mostly play together in a bitter direction. That being said, I found the second cup a little too weak in flavor, maybe I should have infused it for longer? Mostly, I could only taste the ginger.
I never would have thought to blend chocolate with chai, but it actually does work. Given how strong chai spices are, the chocolate shows up more as a smooth richness rather than a chocolate flavor. I think I prefer a traditional chai, but this is a nice alternative.
This tea tastes a lot like the chai, but the bitterness of the chocolate flavor marries with the bite and brightness of the chai spices while also adding a mellow, smooth undertone. It's not chocolate chocolate, but it reminds me of the Mexican hot chocolate that I would drink back in Texas. Neat.
The tea has a pleasant chai aroma when opened. On the first brew it had a nice chai taste. The second tasted a bit like chocolate. Both cups were quite enjoyable.
I am a chocolate fanatic. Scince quitting sugar, finding an alternative has been difficult. This tea has been a treaure to satisfy my chocolate cravings! Thanks!
I liked it. Subtle chocolate flavor with a nice chia blend.
This tea instantly became one of my favorites. I add two sugar cubes.
This tea is magnificent. I enjoy mine with sugar and a little milk or cream is good too. Mix this tea with the raspberry loose leaf and you have a cup of liquid Ghirardelli raspberry filled dark chocolate. It is sensational. Update: I had to purchase more! I will always come back to this tea.
A friend got me some of this for my birthday, and I loved it so much I had to buy some more! Great way to start a sweet day.
this is perhaps my favorite chai blend i've tried. the chocolate is mellow and sweet and contrasts nicely with the kick of chai spice. 10/10 i think about this tea like a lover i haven't seen in weeks.
I like this chai for what it is, though I find it needs a little help. The chocolate flavor doesn't come through that well on its own, so I often found myself blending it with peppermint tea to make choco-mint chai or with espresso powder to make a chocolate chai latte (or both), both of which brought the chocolatier notes out of this tea, but which aren't really apparent if you're drinking it on its own.
I'm not a chocolate 'tea' fan, but thought I'd give it a try.. what the heck! I like it. Not love but it's a good blend and nice with a bit of milk.
I just made the Chocolate Chai.
It's good, plus I am considering buying a larger amount
I love regular Chai but this didn’t do it for me sadly.
The Chocolate Chai tea has quickly become one of my favorites. I have a blend with caramel and another blend with mint that are divine
Overall, this Chocolate Chai was okay nothing too special. If Chocolate wasn’t in the name I don’t think I would guess that Chocolate is in this blend. The chai flavoring is much more pronounced.
I really wanted to love this -- because who doesn't love chocolate and also chai -- but the flavors didn't seem to mix that well despite my following the brewing instructions. The chocolate comes through but tastes like coffee more than anything.
