Description
Rooibos tea from South Africa, flavored with oil of bergamot, a citrus fruit. According to legend, this tea is named for Earl Grey, a British Prime Minister, to whom a Chinese noble entrusted its secret recipe for saving his life. Unfortunately, this story is not true. But we hope this won't prevent you from enjoying our exquisite 'Bravo' version of the popular Earl Grey tea, the perfect afternoon tea. Naturally caffeine-free.
Story
It is said that in 1830, an Englishman named Charles Earl Grey traveled on a diplomatic mission to China, where in return for his act of kindness, a local mandarin presented him with the recipe for making this distinctive tea. A few corrections are in order. Firstly, the Chinese have never been black tea drinkers, and were unlikely to have a recipe for Earl Grey to bestow on visitors. Secondly, Charles Earl Grey never set foot in China. Otherwise, the story is completely true.
"I love this. It tastes like earl grey but without the caffeine of tea. "
"Very weird combination of flavors, but somehow it works."
"I like earl grey, but rooibos seems as if it can't just go with anything. Rooibos does have a characteristic flavor of its own, so keep in mind this will not taste like earl grey in black tea. But this is a good caffeine free alternative with good mild bergamot flavor with excellent aroma. It just isn't my everyday craving."
"This is my new favorite tea! I've always loved earl grey, but didn't realize how good it could be until i ordered adagio's rooibos earl grey."
"Delightfully perfect! Rooibos earl grey makes mornings better!"
