We apologize this item is temporarily out of stock. We are among the few companies to offer teas directly from origin. While this has the advantage of superior quality, the disadvantage is longer delivery times.

Estimated arrival date is the beginning of September. We'll gladly drop you a note once the fresh batch is here. Please let us know where to mail it:

Decaf Ceylon

Description

Black tea from Ceylon, decaffeinated using a superior CO-2 process. The latter is all natural and gentle, allowing tea leaves retain their delicate shape and flavor. Ceylon is Sri Lanka's colonial name, and the tea that grows here continued to be called this.

Story

Ceylon is the old name of Sri Lanka. And all the tea that is grown here is still referred to as such. Most of the plantations are located in the hills, south of Kandy. The most famous tea-growing regions are all in the highlands: Dimbula, Uva and Nuwara Eliya. The high-grown teas, those cultivated above 4000 feet, tend to be superior to the lower-grown varieties. Ceylon's finer qualities - delicate flavor and sweet aroma - are typically found in its high-grown teas.

"DELICIOUS. I'm such a sucker for decent ceylon, and having a non-flavored decaf rocks. Bag tea can't match this."

"Easy to trick yourself into thinking its not decaf. Definitely the best decaf I've had"

"Eh. Ordered to have some decaf on hand, earthy flavor, somewhat bland."

"An excellent decaf choice. As compared to the caffeinated version, the flavor and strength remains generally consistent."

"Being Ceylon, this tea was very mild tasting "black tea." I made milk tea with it, and there is nothing too crazy good about it, but it's not bad neither. It will be good just plain or with milk, depending on how i feel."
