teas: kukicha & sour apple

Tritri was a young dragon who, amongst other things, was known as a devourer. She would consume all of the apple trees throughout Japan, leaving none but the ones not suitable for consumption. She preferred green sour apples, of course, but did not discriminate against the reds either as myth tells. One day the villagers came to stop Tritri from partaking in her feast, for they were now without apples of their own. Tritri agreed to only eat from the trees of which were outside of the villagers settlement, however in return she was to be gifted with a basket of peony petals on the 3rd of each month. All went well for many years, but over time the villagers grew tired of this routine, and no longer offered Tritri the Peony she requested. This angered her greatly. In her rage she destroyed all of the village's trees, leaving in the wake nothing but a sorting of stems, stalks and twigs. Asides from being uncomfortable to walk upon, this also meant that the villagers no longer had any apples at all -- Nor did Tritri any longer have such a selection, of course, but she had her revenge. Over time the villagers resorted to using these twigs in their recipes and teas, creating what is now known as Kukicha. Tritri never returned to that village, however each year it is said that an apple tree disappears and leaves a single Peony in it's place.
