NOTE: This is a PARTIAL tea-- additional accents are needed as described below. If you are adverse to accenting your own tea by the cup or entire quantity, you may prefer skipping this blend since it's only mildly flavored without additions. The tin cover is a closeup photo of one bloom of my trellised passionflower vine. This winter hardy plant is known as Maypop because the leaves pop out of the ground in May when the weather has warmed-- after Derby Day usually. Its species name is Passiflora incarnata. Though it produces fruits which are edible eaten fresh, they aren't as tasty as the fruits of several tropical passionflower species. Consequently, the pulp of Maypop is most commonly used to make jam-- the added ingredients (sugar!) improve the flavor. Making preserves isn't really my thing. I grow the vine because it is native to Kentucky and benefits wildlife such as Eastern carpenter bees. (If you foolishly hate pollinating carpenter bees, remember that if they're frequenting the vine and other plants, then they aren't boring unwanted holes in your wooden items!). Plus, growing this vine provides a vertical element with such strange and interesting flowers. I like a little wildness in my garden. :) The tea is a partial black tea version of Adagio's Passionfruit Tango. I added a bit of Hibiscus black tea because I like its flavor much more than an excess of accenting hibiscus flowers. Personally, I like this black tea version a lot better than Adagio's tisane since the slight bitter taste I perceive in the herbal is absent here.
To make it equivalent to Passionfruit Tango in flavor, add CINNAMON pieces, some LEMONGRASS tea, ROSE PETALS, and pieces of PEACH & MANGO. (I use small bits of freeze-dried fruit from the grocery store.) At the present time, your trading cards can get you most of the needed ingredients for a small tin for free! :) ***NATIVE STATUS***
