First flush Darjeelings are well known for their crispness - a touch of astringency that provide a lively finish - and while revered by connoisseurs, it does not agree with every palate. Darjeeling white teas offer similar fruity notes, and light body, but with a very smooth finish for those who prefer. Here we have a lovely offering from the Rohini Estate. The leaves are dark and wirey, with a a lot of unopened leaf buds. The dry leaf aroma offers hints of stone fruit and a promise of a tasty cup. The cup color is a light golden amber, and the taste is quite fruity and complex with a finish that is soft, smooth, and lingers slightly on the palate.
