Jane is a man made up of equal parts Sherlock Holmes, carny, and trickster. His tea represents where he is, where he is going, and where he has been: traditional Earl Grey blends with a Rooibos base, while strawberry black leaves permeate the gaps. There is mischief in the citrus notes, and the barest hint of lapsang souchong tops this tea off (its unforgettable smoky aroma being Jane's choice for vengeance-fueled beverage breaks). Hibiscus accents ensure that the influence of his nemesis Red John will never be forgotten.
This tea contains a low level of caffeine | Steep at 212° for 4 minutes.
It's easy to forget one part of Jane while focusing on the others. Trying to blend humor, pain and sadness, and deep anger was a challenge, but Adagio steps up wonderfully.
Jane has always been at least 3 teas to me, so getting to marry them with actual elements from the show was a temptation too enticing to resist. Strawberries of course refer back to the scent of shampoo he used for his daughter. We're all crying now. Have a cup of tea. It's a hug in a cup.
