A red tea for Hester Prynne, labelled an Adultress, for giving birth despite her husband being overseas for a long time. Hester endures rejection and humiliation while raising her daughter, Rose, without revealing the father, Rev. Dimmesdale. The vengeful husband returns and Dimmesdale collapses under guilt and confesses he is Rose's father and equally guilty of sin. He has been quietly punishing himself all along. Hester spends the rest of her life doing good deeds. Part of the fandom, A Cup of Condensed Classics.
