xue ya ballad

An early spring harvest green - unusual for the Keemun region - this tea features gentle chestnut notes, slightly sweet and toasty (think of the crust on a freshly baked sweet loaf). Rounded mouthfeel with a delicate pale yellow liquor, and pleasant evaporating finish. Once you have heard Xue Ya Ballad's lovely notes, you will return to it again and again.

lore

Qimen is a county inside China's Anhui province, and Keemun tea is a variant of the name 'Qimen.' Until about a century ago, this region produced only green tea, and today Anhui is much more famous for its Keemun black tea (the original English Breakfast tea, in fact). Anhui cuisine is one of the Eight Great Traditions of Chinese cuisine, known for its use of wild game, fresh herbs, and simple methods of preparation.
