It is #migratorymay2025, so there will probably be many birdie backdrops this month. Out here in the desert all of our birds are pretty much Brown brown with brown black with brown white with brown and occasionally a little bit of red with brown. So it's fun, sketch and paint all the different colorful birds around the world.

Yes, Michelle. Most of our birds are various shades and patterns of black and brown. But sometimes we get a bright flash of blue and orange when visited by a western bluebird. Not every year, but sometimes.

I think I will choose respect for chicken day. I have the greatest respect for the $4.99 rotisserie chickens at Sam's Club...especially right before my hubby carves them up so I can gnaw on the carcasses. Yum!

Mary, I live within walking distance of Costco, and they, too, have $4.99 rotisserie chickens. They are huge, and I get many meals out of one.

Mary, we grabbed one today. I took get a few meals from the huge chickens. I simmer the carcass and make broth in the end but my favorite dish by far is cold chicken salad with cranberries.

Good morning dear tea friends, on this "May the forth be with you" day. My son greeted me with the Spock GIF first thing this morning. We had a lovely morning cuppa...hubby had Formosa Bai Hao and I had a yummy cup of Tanya's tasty blend...Sweater Weather. It was perfect for this cloudy, rainy morning, and yes, I am wearing a sweater. I'm a year-round sweater wearer when indoors as I do not like to have air conditioning blowing on me. Back to Tanya's blend of Caramel, Spiced Apple Chai and and Pumpkin Spice, with cinnamon chips. Yum! Good Yin Tea Morning! Before I get to the Yin Tea...I am having Henni's Memorial Day Blend, my chosen blend for May's Highlight. I love how the Strawberry inclusion note mingles with Forest Berries. Cream tames the tartness which could potentially be and arise from the berries, (but Forest Berries tea is always sweet and satisfying for me.) Good morning y’all. Hubby had this morning’s tea. I took a sip before handing it off, and immediately picked up floral ( I mean, it IS in the name so ). For some reason most florals or Earl Grey teas taste either soapy or like I’m drinking a bottle of perfume. I have had success with a few in blends, but by themselves I just can’t, even though I would love to. Hubby, also doesn’t care for rose type teas, and is selective on jasmine ones. This one seems to be a good fit for him. We had so much fun last night, but I am a little tired so Im having Sumatran Orangutan by Khrissi. Good morning everyone! We had storms, tornado warnings, and a lot of rain last night. I made a pot of pu-erh and will sip it all day since it's a multiple steeper kind of tea. A friend of mine had given me a cake of puerh tea and it doesn't look like I put a dent in it, but it's a good thing that this tea gets better with age. Have a great day!

Enduring a month-long cold was far from enjoyable, but the silver lining is that I’ve regained my sense of smell after nearly a year without it. For me, part of the joy of tea has always included enjoying the aroma of it rising from my glass mug until it cools enough to sip. Having that experience back feels incredible!

I took a ferry ride last week and walk to see Pia the Peacekeeper by Danish artist Thomas Dambo. He has over 150 trolls worldwide and 44 in the US.

last week I just saw one of Dambo's works here, the Ole Bolle Troll and the neighborhood he was peeping in one of the roofs to see what was cooking. Absolutely loved it. All his work is made out of recycled materials which he makes look like wood. Just awesome!

Good almost-afternoon! Today's tea sounds lovely, another for my wish list. I went with vanilla oolong this morning to go with some french toast, a wonderful combination. I saw we have a few people playing dungeons and dragons here. I was curious what published adventures you might be playing or if it's homebrew. I am currently playing in "Tomb of Annihilation" and I DM an extended "House of Lament" and a "Planescape: Turn of Fortune's Wheel" game.

Im newer to DND but hubby has been off and on for several years (mostly because of work schedule as a jailer, which he has since hung up his LE badge in 2020. He has an office job now). He has DM-ed quite a few times, and I was his DM assistant for one campaign which helped me learn the game. He likes to home brew his campaigns, as does the friend who DM-ed our session last night. This friend also will do holiday themed “one shots”. I don’t know of any official DND campaigns but Im sure Alex may since he has played much longer than me and maybe before he met me. The one out friend is running is a typical DND i suppose. We are all common characters, such as Tiefling, Harengone (hubs), Yuan-Ti (me), Dwarf, and an orc.

That's awesome. I played a bunch when I was much younger then honestly Covid got me back into it as there were so many virtual tools to help facilitate it and with all of the quarantine downtime it became a great choice for my wife and I.

When we have the time I DM a homebrew game between my spouse and I (I let him have two characters to make up for our lack of players), I some times throw in third party encounters and one shots to stitch some stuff together. At the moment he's playing an Elf with zero empathy, and a very adorable Kobold you can't trust.

That's a really fun way to do that. Have you heard of "date night dungeons" modules? There is one called "Wight Wedding" and another called "Rescue of the Blackthorn Clan" and they are designed for a couple or 2 people to each have a character and the books are written so you can swap each chapter who is the DM.

Yesterday on Instagram, an account I follow that specializes in historical fashion shared a vid of the Coronation of the Queen event - which looked magnificent with all of the trains.

It was me! Viva Fiesta! The Witte Museum does a Fiesta exhibit each year showcasing different dresses the Queens and their court have worn over the years. They are fabulous!

We are having some lovely light rain today, which seems to have stopped. It has altered my plans for the day because I was going to put some extra potting soil and some vegetable plants that I bought earlier in the week in our elevated gardening boxes. I’ve got 2 jalapeño plants, 2 Anaheim chili plants, 2 celebrity tomatoes and 2 early girls, plus seeds for snow peas, carrots, bok choy, and then some garlic bulbs, onion starters, and potato starters. At least the plants are outside on the patio enjoying the nice rain. I think I’ll wait a few days until the soil dries out a bit before I get to work planting things. Hope you all have a great day!

Good early afternoon! Today I had Bella Luna, the cracked open my bag of caramel cteme brulee. It has a nice smooth caramel taste with vanilla undertones. So glad I picked it.

Winter temperatures and a cold rain greeted us when we left Mass today. It is going to rain all afternoon. It rained yesterday as well so the plans to do garden work is a bust. The odd weather from this past week has left me on the edge of a migraine. I am going to need to rest instead of anything else. Hopefully everyone is enjoying their May 4th. The Cinco de Mayo parade in our area is certainly a soggy one today.

I'm a fan of jasmine tea and this no exception. It is smooth, floral and comforting. I would suggest definitely not over-steeping as it tends to turn bitter.

When looking at your own cards and it shows your friends at the top some of them have yellow numbers. When clicking on the friends who are yellow some teas have a yellow border. Can anyone tell me what the significance of the yellow number and yellow border is?

Brewed a pitcher of Irish breakfast with their iced tea bags. I still prefer Irish breakfast hot, but this is nice as I am an iced unsweetened tea drinker.

Interesting. I like Hibiscus black as an iced.... Also Coconut, and Forest Berries ...are another fav iced and ...a Huckleberry black tea, from elsewhere, too. But yeah, I wondered if I'd like Irish Brekkie iced.

Ooo I still have some hibiscus black, but never tried it iced. I think that will be one in the very near future.

So this happened. I went to the Pasadena humane society to pick up a 3 week old bottle baby kitten to foster. And they were having a Star Wars themed party for May the 4th be with you. These are the actors from Obi wan show on Disney plus. See today’s pic. So fun!

My daughters decided today we would celebrate Mother's day, so we had a brunch buffet at a local hotel. Carl and I laughed because we both got the senior discount. LOL. I am trying hard not to be offended but look at the savings instead.

Finally got to play dnd again after an almost month long dry spell. Amazingly, we solved a problem peacefully for the first time. Rocs were harassing a village's field, so we built a fire giant sized scarecrow.

Against my better judgement, I steeped my jasmine leaves again (one cup just wasn't enough) and it is still enjoyable. Thought it would be devastatingly bitter - glad to be wrong!
