So how about a good laugh - We had a student taking their midterm in the testing Center. They failed to put their cell phone in the locker. They were caught using it during the exam. They had taken a picture of the question and put it into an AI search tool. Search tool came back with the wrong answer. They will get an F in the course for the misconduct and I’m going to make life hell for the student sending them over to student conduct but I think it is hilarious that cheating got them the wrong answer. Wouldn’t it be easier to study?

It’s amazing how stupid they think we are! I didn’t realize the level of that until I taught a few classes of my own at Univ of Calif, Riverside. When a so-so student turns in a brilliant paper, you start typing phrases or sentences into Google and up pops the reference! I even warned them at the beginning of the quarter that I caught my son doing dubious things when he was in high school, and he told me I should have been a detective! I told them if they plagiarized, I will catch it. But I love your story the best!

I'm not sure they think teachers/adults are so stupid. Perhaps they think they are so clever! LOL. It doesn't much matter either way since their conclusions are incorrect! It's quite healthy for their development as people to get "caught"! I didn't resort to cheating, but I will say that by senior year of high school, I was burnt out with school. Couldn't bear any more studying and didn't care what the grades were. I also had a number of teachers who just liked to hear themselves talk which was indeed a turn off & no way to engage students. (Not laying that on you in any way. Simply sharing my experience.) I was ready for a JOB rather than more school. Hopefully, the student will find the impetus to make a change.

Oh my goodness! I remember when I was in college, we had a testing center as well, and they really did not play around. They would watch what you put in the lockers and some people even had to turn out their pockets if they didn't believe them. 😂 I never messed around, though. I wanted good grades and didn't want to get in trouble, so. 🤷‍♀️

The whole concept of learning is a mess right now. In high school, you can't pry their phone out of their hands at any point (including the bathroom). And the parents are on the other end most of the time. But I'm glad that AI delivered a little justice.

That's hysterical! I told my husband about this (he used to teach pharmacology to the PA students at a local university). He thought that was great, and got a good laugh out of it! Not only to get caught cheating, but to be provided the wrong answer by AI!

My favorite cheating story was using a testing proctoring called Honorlock. They tested at home with a camera on them. A horrible student, who was repeating my class because he failed it before, had his friend under the desk with another computer. They didn't think the "taping" started until he started the test, so the kid is saying, "Do you have the Quizlet up? Do you have the answers ready". SIGH. Yeah, automatic F there, bud.

Hmm, I never did it like that. Usually I've done it through the birthday "send gift" button, but if you take the specific person's info off the end of the link ( so it's just https://www.adagio.com/pages/gifts.html ) then it lets you pick someone and use points for something from their wishlist or favorites.

I have a new addiction, it's TEA. A friend visited and saw my open order on the table and he immediately began rooting through it, he come across the Lardera and announced confusingly, it's coffee, not tea? He grabs a glass jar and says this is not tea either? Steve immediately says yeah, Mary has an addiction. He then proceeds to ask me to tell him all the things that I can order on my Adagio site. He scratches his head and they both walk away. ....Me thinking here, I would never go into something in someone's home like that but then laughing when he says he likes tea, just Earl Grey and Thai tea...that other stuff is all too much for me. Me, giggling because no one asked him to root in my stash in the first place, and my second thought, more for me and my friends without biased palates.🤭🤭🤭

Good morning tea pals. I am late to Chat today. We had to take Laddie to the vet this morning, and he is still there as I type. We hope to be able to pick him up about noon. He has not had any food (fasting tests) so he will be hungry! I started the day with Year of the Snake, and I must say I really enjoyed it. My son was given another round of antibiotics to make sure he does not have an infection and a culture was done yesterday when he was seen. He is back to work today and I am hoping he is not in too much discomfort. Happy hump day...we are almost of the downhill run to the weekend. Keep the tea kettle going and your spirits up!

Mary, my husband did the EXACT same thing to my order that arrived yesterday 🤣. It was a fairly large order, but some items were gifts. His bag of green tea was in that box and he wanted it, so he opened it and laid everything out on the kitchen table before i got home. When i arrive he says, “Hon while i am thrilled its not drugs…I do think you have an addiction.” He points to the kitchen table, and I couldn’t help but burst out laughing. This man went through 15 or so items for his one and was amazed at what all I had ordered. I told him some of it was for two birthdays as gifts, but yeah, I like my options compared to his only two options of green tea or half n half texas tea. So I understand your thoughts. 🤭

Ottum, I add 4 grams per 8 ounces, so depending how much I want to make I multiply it by whatever ounces the container is, scoop the leaves into a paper tea bag and stick it in the container. Add warm water and leave it on the counter for an hour, then put it in the fridge. When I do it this way, I get enough of the flavor of tea without making it bitter. If I stick it right into the fridge, the tea is very light. Or you can brew the tea normally, strain, and stick the brewed tea in the fridge until it's cold. I hope this helps and good luck.

Michele P, Michelle L, Pam and Paula, thank you so much for your kind words yesterday. I did not see your posts until today so I was not able to respond to them. I am feeling guilty for doing well in the midst of some many others' misfortunes/illnesses. I pray they all make it through to happier, healthier days. I got part of my cleaning done this morning while Laddie was at the vet (where he is still at this time). I will finish it up tomorrow. So I feel a bit better...at least I was able to get something accomplished this morning. Stepson is coming on Monday to get some woodworking equipment, books, camera equipment, books, etc. that my hubby is no longer using and is passing on to him. That will free up a lot of space so I will be able to do some household organizing. He also said a friend of his friend still wants our church organ and will arrange to get it when he is back in the US. So that will free up another area in our home. This is all very encouraging.

I will still come to check out the chat box each day and see what y'all are drinking but I'm not getting another CommuniTEA box after this month. I got the boxes to try the fandom blends and build up my stash of tea samples that I can blend together for the office tea pot. But we have plenty of tea to work through at the office and I have tried/bought every tea Adagio has to offer multiple times. Including the Masters. So I don't need the CommuniTEA boxes anymore. Maybe I'll be back when I have used up all of these samples (I use 6 samples to make one big pot a tea and I estimate that I currently have 600 unused samples piled up) but I do think CommuniTEA is good for people to try teas they wouldn't otherwise buy and of course the community aspect. I also have the gargantuan task of overhauling no less than 40 tea blends that use the teas on the Chopping Block. Most of them use Rooibos Jasmine and Adagio has not yet made another Jasmine tea available for blending. So, it will take a lot of thinking because there are other floral teas like chamomile, summer rose, lavender, and even mango and apricot. Still, they will not taste the same as the jasmine, and I don't like putting up blends that I would not personally drink myself, so I'm not going to change them all without tasting them and hoping for the best. It's going to take time. Other Chopping Block teas have caused this, but not on the scale. It's usually five or six blends at most. And you know, sometimes it can lead to better blends, like my blend for Allison Argent, which I completely changed when Rhubarb Green was chopped, and now I have something that one reviewer said tastes like a peach Jolly Rancher. I will keep blending, but this will prevent me from taking on another fandom until I finish editing.

It looks like this afternoon we will get the anticipated rain. My hubby suggested I get the trash out (he’s still recovering from hip replacement surgery) and my tennies in from the patio before noon today. It’s currently 12:45 and it certainly feels like rain is imminent, but it still hasn’t appeared. Now if my tennies were still outside, it would likely be pouring by now, as if to taunt me. Thank you all for all the birthday wishes and gifts! You are all so kind, and I am so lucky to have found this cozy place online. No matter what's happening outside, this is a special place to share a laugh or a cry. I've had a good day, even with taking my 4-year-old to the doctor. He's had a fever, and I feared his ear infection came back. But it didn't and doc thinks it's just a cold. I had a lovely brunch with my mom; I always tell her that I have to celebrate her on my birthday because she did the work in bringing me here. I bought myself a ticket to the World Tea Expo in Vegas at the end of the month; I'm so excited to go and share everything I learn. I will probably spend the evening working on a paper for a class. Hope you all have lots of tasting sips!

Good night everyone. It has been a long day, starting with Pilates, then lunch with a friend for her birthday, then Mexican train with the older grandkids, then playtime with the 2 year old grandson. I’m pooped! I didn’t even have time for tea today. 😕

So I bought a nut milk machine, came today in the mail, I made a homemade cashew milk and it is amazing, I can't wait to try more, I read about cococash, half cashew, half coconut, that would be amazing in tea!
