Happy Cinco de Mayo (spread it on thick, Gladys!) day tea friends! I goofed and had Scottish Breakfast this morning and hubby had Keemun Rhapsody. I have some Cinco de Mayo, which I love, in our tea cupboard and will sip some later. Just wasn't thinking of the date when I prepared our morning cuppas. We had some much needed rain yesterday. We will get out for a walk this morning and then hubby will work in our front yard while I tend to the trimming, watering and repotting of my violets. My stepson is supposed to stop over at some point today to pick up some things we are giving to him and his brother. So, is there any small thing that you do not have or do all year that you save just to make your birthday special? I do not drink soda at all except for my birthday I get a large A&W Diet Root Beer and put it in the fridge. I put two root beer mugs in the freezer so hubby and I can drink the root beer at its coldest. Yum! This takes me back to when I was a child and my parents would take me to the A&W Root Beer stand. Most of the time we would just have a root beer in a frosty mug (mine was the little child's size), but occasionally we would also get a chili dog. Somehow I just think my parents would like it if they knew I was having a frosty mug of root beer on my birthday. It's the little things in life, don't you think?

Mary, it’s not a birthday thing, but that’s why I stop at Amboy every time I go by and get a cold Route 66 root beer. My dad always loved stopping there to get one. I don’t often go by there anymore, and I don’t drink sodas anymore either, but I stopped and bought a root beer on my way through Amboy a couple months ago. I think my dad would get a kick out of knowing that. It’s the little things.

I started the day with a cup of my Moonflower blend, which pairs well with the chill of the morning after a night's rain. We have people at our house to replace our hot water heat and they've discovered our sewage is backed up...we are hoping we can get additional help asap to get it taken care of. 🤠 Howdy!!! Hi-Ya, Tea drinkers! Crazy day Peeps 🐥 …:::.Today…hugh…..need some very special tea to get me out of a frightful moment I had with a man on drugs and he was way out of his mind He ask for some money and I gave him a ten and walk away very fast with a kind goodbye. He stared to yell at me and I felt something hit my back and a policewoman yelled get down!!! So, I hit the pavement and the officer said not you run Mr! More officers ran towards the poor man who yelled at me for not giving him enough money. ( I think) a policewoman came towards my direction and said did you see this… she was holding a very large knife and said this is what hit me on the back but the handle hit me not the blade. I just froze and was in shock and she lead me to the side to talk to me. It was near a busy area downtown but she kind of skolded me for not paying attention being more observant-aware of the man. The officers got to the man very fast because he tried to rob a convenience store and they were looking for him . I’m still kind of what?? And confused! It happen so fast, but I always help someone who needs help, if I can. God bless the young man, he was just messed up. Even if he tried to hurt me, I do care for people who are homeless. I now drinking Imperial Golden 🐒 Monkey, I'm still kinda freaked out....Now time to relax and chill.

Oh my goodness Woodie, Im so glad you’re ok! I’ve helped (and continue with one) some in a near by city when I can help and afford it. Usually its a “survival bag” of soap, shampoo, toilet paper ect. I also ask their names since they tend to be labeled “that homeless guy or lady”. Luckily its just ones that have had bad luck, maybe a drinking problem yes, but mostly just not able to keep up and no one to help them. Im like you, I care about people no matter what walk of life they may be going down. Its why Im a CNA for those with disabilities and dementia. In many cases for a lot of families Ive been told im the only caregiver that has lasted long enough for their family member to not only get used to, but ask about. Thank you for being compassionate in your field. My mom worked in a nursing home home for a long time and I remember horror stories about neglect and thefts from residents. Some see it as just a paycheck and others can be even worse and target those who have nobody so I am thankful for all the great medical and nursing staff who really put their heart into what they do. Truly special people to me and many of them take their patients home in their hearts even after they clock out.

Sipping this blend "Anderson" tonight. I actually have forgotten how I came across it at this point, but may have been a recommendation. It's grapefruit forward and citrus and astringent. I like grapefruit though so I am enjoying it. https://www.adagio.com/19220
