When I lived in Arizona and California, the lemons on my lemon trees were about that size or bigger, but they had more pith in them.

Good morning! I got woken up by an intense thunder storm at 2AM. I love my hairstylist. I’ve been going to her since I was in high school. I love that I can say, “do whatever” and it’ll be good because she understands my hair and personality after all these years.

I really miss my Tallahassee stylist. She knew exactly what I wanted and was this bold/brassy person I just loved talking to because we were both pretty straightforward people. My new one here is good but it's just not the same. And I feel like she's sorta getting my hair right but not really. Like 80/20. And she wants to push products, which I abhor. I'm super low maintenance with my hair and I hate the pressure.

Good morning all! I cold brewed today’s tea as I’ve had a bad time hot brewing it and not getting any flavor twice now from a sample I got. (I possibly didn’t add enough tea though - lol) But cold brewing apparently did the trick for me, it was quite lovely! Love that I can’t over-brew it cold since I forgot it before my early appointment.

My pic today is of a scrumptious slice of lemon meringue pie and the recipe link if you feel game. I'm not a baker and making meringue would probably break me but I know some could whip it up in no time! This is one of my favorite pies. I love the tart with the fluffy creaminess of the meringue. It's perfect. Hope everyone is heading into a fun weekend. In San Antonio news, our Fiesta season started yesterday and fun awaits! We are doing the Art Fair at UTSA tomorrow and will do NIOSA (Night in Old San Antonio in the historic La Villita section of town) and King William fair next week. We had just arrived last year when Fiesta started and were exhausted so only did a few small things. We are happy we can get more involved this year. I had a sample bag of this tea when i purchased the spring tea sample box back early February, so I had enough to cold brew a mason jar worth of tea. Hubby was chomping at the bit for it to finish since he found out it was a “citrus” flavored green. I like lemon meringue pie so I figured i would give it a chance. This tea surprised me, I didnt quite pick up lemon, but lime. I didnt say anything and had him try a sip and he had the same response. “Key lime? I though it was lemon meringue?” I actually liked this one and split it with Alex. Thankfully I have more in the sample pouch to make another round 😋. Hi, everyone! Haven't been here in CT in a while. Been gardening my fanny off with native seedlings to water, winter weeds to uproot, new plants shipping to me & needing installed, AND a spring native plant swap to participate in. However, it's raining here in central KY today. That's the task of watering off my list anyway. ;) I'm on my second half cup of tea for a total of 8 oz. My brother and SIL are teachers at the high school level and both took the day off today, so their visiting us kept me from having tea first thing! I balanced a 1/2 cup of high caff tea with a 1/2 cup of low for moderate overall. I'm sure I'll have more tea later (and probably do some tea blending!) since I'm trapped indoors. :) My dad is on hospice now with his incurable lung cancer. He discontinued chemo since it was just too much for his frail body any longer. He has a bedsore my mom is giving proper care so I expect he'll be with us a while longer. He's grateful not to have to leave the house for appointment after appointment. My mom is glad not to be driving the two hours to the city and back (where the VA hospital is located). That's the update from this end.

Happy Friday tea friends! This tea is delicious as a cold brew. The first time I did so, I asked my son whether he liked the tea. He said he did and asked what the flavor was. He agreed with me that it does taste quite a bit like a slice of lemon meringue pie.

FRIEND BLENDS!! April's Spotlight was a blast! Henni and Ebeth.... You wow'd us!! So, How many have the May Friend Blends?! What did everyone get? Ok.. And Lets start brainstorming what we may like for JUNE's friend blend Spotlight potenitality. Here are some ideas: 1) Split a 3oz bag with a teapal! 2) Since tins have not been turned off *YET*--if they are in your cart, if someone has a wheel, you could spin it, til you get the blend that you want... ((ie., this is a method to get a tin to automatically plop into your cart.)) 3) I know I would be totally willing to pick up a 3oz of a blend that I know I'd really like & use ... So...what are your thoughts? Get Creative? Scrap Friend blends til the Fall/Whenever tins return? Do some wanna participate and some just wanna wait?

Well, I am trying not to be worried. When hubby went to his dermatologist today he had some spots frozen and two spots biopsied. He had squamous cell cancer removed in the past and has to go for checkups every six months. He has not had to have a biopsy in quite some time, and the only other time he did it was positive for squamous cell skin cancer. So, that being said, one of the biopsies was for squamous cell cancer and the other one was to test for melanoma, which he has not had previously. Also, his eosinophils have been high the last two times he has had bloodwork (one was done just a couple weeks ago). His treating physician was not worried and said it was probably due to allergies. However, it also can be elevated due to cancer. So he will get the results in two weeks when he returns to his dermatologist. In the interim I will be sipping a lot of tea...especially the calming teas. Hopefully the dermatologist was just being overcautious. Thank you for listening. I don't want to say anything as I don't want my hubby to be overly concerned at this time. I feel better now that I have shared this with my dear tea friends. You are the best.
