Description
The plum blossom has a deep-rooted tradition in China, celebrated almost as fondly as the tea leaf itself. In fact, in 1964 the plum blossom was officially declared to be the national flower for the People's Republic of China. Combining the delicious flavor of this juicy fruit with a gourmet quality black tea from Ceylon, Adagio's Plum Tea has created a new tradition, sure to be celebrated for years to come.
Story
Plums are hard-pitted fruits like peaches, cherries and apricots. About 12 plum species are cultivated throughout temperate regions for their fruit and as flowering ornamentals. Plums have stones like human fingerprints, each one being unique to a particular variety. Experts were able to identify over one hundred individual plum stones found on the flagship of Henry VIII's Mary Rose, which sank in 1545. Both the ship and the fruit were considered favorites of this Tudor King.
