"I picked this up with my utilliTEA kettle so I'd have something to brew and decant with instead of using mesh balls. It is mediocre at best. The pouring cup spills everywhere and the hole is just large enough to let a lot of finer tea leaves through. I rated it 'good' because it does work, but for $9 I feel you really can do better. I picked up a gaiwan at Teavana for $7 (half off, admittedly) that works exponentially better than this. Though I do still use the cup to decant into :P"

"I bought 2 sets so I could brew 2 teas simultaneously under the same conditions for comparison. I'm considering ordering 2 more sets so I can invite friends over for tea tastings, or to do more extensive tasting sessions. The tasting bowl is shallow and broad so I was able to position the bottom edge of the tasting cup over the bowl. That way any tea that ran down the side went right into the bowl - nothing lost and no mess."

"I love this little tea tasting set. It is ideal for brewing small quantities of tea. If you like your tea hot and fresh as I do, then this little set is the way to go. When my set arrived, the cup you sip the tea from was chipped. Whether the damage happened in transit to me or before that, I have no idea. I do know that Adagio Customer Service promptly replaced the damaged item and surprised me with two free samples of tea! Way to go, Adagio."

"I hadn't used a gaiwan until I bought this set. Although it might be a bit difficult to master (it took me a few weeks of frequent use to become comfortable enough to decant next to my laptop), the effect is nice. Portion-wise, a larger gaiwan might be more suitable, especially when brewing for more than one."

"I love these. The brewing pitcher is about 4oz (to the gap along the lip), and the drinking bowl is about 6oz (to the very top). Smaller leaf tea will have more dust and leafy bits go through."
