blended with hojicha, green tea, chamomile, natural ginseng flavor, ginger root
teas: ginseng green, hojicha, chamomile
accented with ginger
I wanted to create a blend that included ginseng. The title came about, and then the rest of the blend was inspired by the song. I began to learn a little about ginseng and found out that it has roots in North America as well as China. American Ginseng was first used medicinally by the Native Americans and began to be used in American trade during the colonial era and beyond. American ginseng helped the colonies pay off debts and put bread on the table for those skilled in harvesting the plant. People continue the tradition of harvesting their own wild Ginseng in Appalachia and other American regions today. American Ginseng is very valuable, and harvesting is highly regulated to protect the species and prevent poaching. The song "Mother Nature's Son" reminds me of my dad, and the of history of American Ginseng adds to the picture I was trying to create with this blend.
