ingredients & lore

blended with kukicha, black tea, gunpowder, natural sesame flavor

teas: kukicha, gunpowder, sesame

This wasn't the most difficult tea to blend, but it was a bit of a challenge. I wanted to use Gunpowder, but due to its strong flavor, chose to blend it with other teas that would mellow it out just a bit. The tea was very much inspired by his personality and origins. It's very Japanese in flavor and falls under what I consider a 'masculine' taste.

These often elaborate and whimsical pots are traditionally used for gongfu steeping, where tea is served in small cups over the course of many very short infusions. Ideal teas for this are oolongs and puerhs, although some black teas will be quite love... read more...
