Description

Rooibos tea from South Africa infused with the delicate scent of the night-blooming jasmine flowers. If you enjoy jasmine tea, we urge you to try the sublime taste of its well-made varieties. This unique flavor produces a sweet, caffeine-free cup with a light and lingering scent of fresh jasmine flowers.

Story

Though sometimes referred to as green, jasmine teas are technically oolongs. They are prepared by mixing the delicate flowers of the night-blooming jasmine with tea each evening. With nightfall, the blossoms open and infuse the tea with their sweet aroma. Each morning, the spent flowers are removed and fresh blossoms readied for the evening. This process is repeated a number of times, depending on the grade of tea. For top jasmine grades, the nightly infusion continue for twelve consecutive nights.

"When I first steeped this one, the whole room smelled like a garden in spring. It was a little flowery by itself so I mixed it with the vanilla green for a different taste. I just finished making the Jasmine Rice Pudding that I found in the recipe section of this website. The pudding was mildly flavored but the cooking aroma added a touch of spring on this cold, damp winter day. "

"I was very much looking forward to this tea. Upon opening the tin I was hit with the strong perfume of jasmine, which was to be expected. I had never had a jasmine tea, but upon reading other reviews I decided to give it a go. The resulting brew is a clear and deep reddish brown. The taste can only be described this way: "If the color pink had a taste, Rooibos Jasmine would be it." I noticed a slight hint of almost bubble-gum as well. Upon letting a family member also taste it, they also mentioned (unprompted) a hint of bubblegum as well. It's a good tea, but I don't think it's going to be part of my normal rotation."

"I don't know what bugs me about this tea, the combination just comes off a little funky. Probably wouldn't buy again."

"My husband thinks most sinensis tea is too weak and tasteless, but he loves this Rooibos tisane. I bought it for him after discovering that he liked Ceylon Sonata blended with Jasmine #9. Admittedly, I love this, too... it's got a stronger Jasmine flavour than Jasmine #12. Heat 8oz water in microwave for 1.5 min, add 3 tsp tea, steep 3 minutes, strain. The nice thing about Rooibos is it hasn't the tannins tea has, so it doesn't get bitter if you oversteep... good for when you like it stronger!"

"Great tea - adds a nice (and strong) jasmine aroma to the tea. "
