How do they 'tie off'?

I've found that simply rolling and tucking the top down keeps the tea from getting loose. Alternately, if you have a needle and thread it's pretty simple to stitch a single loop to keep it shut. I do that when traveling.

I place my loose tea in the bottom of a bag and wet the first few inches and place the bag inside my teapot and attach the wet top to the side of the teapot. Very convenient! You don't need to worry about tieing.

I've used these for years and secure them with a tooth pick

They're longer than the average tea bag would be, so you can either tuck the open end over your cup, or just tie up the top.

I fold down the top once or twice and staple it closed. Simple!

I use some little Japanese fisherman tea bag holders! they have little “fishing poles” that have a hook at the tip that pierces the tea bags. I absolutely adore them. You can usually find them on amazon, though I got my first set in Japan town in San
