Raspberry

Description

The moniker 'berry' is actually misleading, for the raspberry is actually a cluster of drupelets around a central core. When picked, the drupelets detach from the core, unlike true berries, which stay attached. However, you're sure to remain attached to our Raspberry tea, which combines the sweetly tart flavor of red raspberries and premium Ceylon black tea.

Story

The genus Raspberry consists of over 200 distinct species, however, only two of these are presently cultivated. The first mention of raspberry comes from the people of Troy (Helen perhaps?), located in modern-day Turkey. Its original name was "ida," a reference to the mountain on which it was first spotted. The medicinal properties believed to cluster in its leaves was of more interest to its early users than the sweet, red fruit. Slang references to raspberry were of course developed much, much later.

"I love fruit teas. Strawberry is my number one and raspberry is second, followed by lemon. I realize the flavored teas are just black tea with flavoring oils but with a little sugar this isn't bad. Has a nice tempting aroma. "

"Nice nose, but a tinge of bitterness. Not an uncommon problem with raspberry infused flavour, but a bit of a disappointment. Tried mixing this with peach (peach melba), and that was very successful. "

"This smells absolutely amazing, but I still haven't managed to find a balance between weak and bitter. There are plenty of good reviews here, so I guess I can chalk it up to user error and preference."

"I thought this was a good quality tea. Mild flavored and great as an iced tea."
