Keemun Concerto

Description

Black tea from the Anhui region of China. Perhaps the most famous of Chinese varieties, this year's crop is prized for its rich smoky flavor, and sumptuous aroma. Our 'Keemun Concerto' is a hand-made, limited production 'Mao Feng' grade tea. It is a rare embodiment of this tea's wonderful potential.

Story

Keemun is a region of China that lies within its Anhui province. Until about a century ago, this region produced only green tea, which was unremarkable at best. However, once the local farmers switched to the manufacture of black tea, the results were spectacular. But not always. Keemun teas come in a wide range of quality, some quite pedestrian, some simply sublime. The finer grades of this tea are known as Keemun Mao Feng and Keemun Hao Ya. Both are produced by hand in very small quantities, making them pricey, but often well worth it.

"Leaf smell: dark smell, like a mix of old man and stereotypical asian knick-knack store, faint old dirt scent Tea smell: a solid Asian-influenced black tea Taste: great black tea taste! not overly malty, and a little earthy Sugar: however much you like in a breakfast black tea"

"A slightly smokey, flavorful black tea. However, not one of my favorites."

"Solid black tea, could be enjoyed by most black tea drinkers and would good to blend off a smokier tea. Great in the morning, reminds me of drinking coffee."

"This is a smokey flavored tea. If you enjoy bold flavors, than I think it will agree with you. Otherwise, avoid it."

"Not my favorite tea but not the worst either. It just needs something extra..."
