Paws on the Ground Colorado began as a group of advocates protesting a local pet store - Perfect Pets in Centennial, Colorado - for its sale of puppy mill puppies.
Two years into the weekly protests, the pet store owner agreed to open his heart and mind to a new way of doing business and entered into discussions with us about offering rescue puppies in the store.
As we help the pet store continue to offer more and more rescue puppies we are partnering with other rescue organizations to locate healthy, adoptable puppies from areas in need. The store is currently offering about 20% rescue puppies and will require a leap of faith from those of us dedicated to rescue as well as encouragement from the community to be successful.
