Hi Emily, they are! Although I don't have a dehydrator so I had to leave them in my oven overnight.

I soaked them in different colored syrup. If you’re interested in trying, I followed the instructions on this site: https://bakingbutterlylove.com/how-to-make-candied-pear-slices/

Just wanted to send you my cold brew update so you don't have to hunt for it in the chat: Update on my cold brew experiment with the second steep of today's tea... it was a great big FAIL! :-( I think with the first steep being hot, it may have sucked out all the almond flavor. The cold brew tasted like plain rooibos (cough syrup, yeck!). No almond flavoring whatsoever. If we end up with another packet of this one in a future box, I'll try to remember to cold brew with the first steep next time.

Man, this tea takes me back to my roots. My passion for tea started in college, when my freshmen English teacher would always give us a cup of tea during office hours. This tastes just like that tea, and reminds me to stop every once in a while and go back to the basics.

This is a lovely collection of teas at a slightly cheaper price than buying all four of them separately. I'd love to be able to review them separately, but I'm not going to write a novel here. The point is, I highly recommend all four teas in this sample, so this is definitely a great way to try them before committing to buying a larger bag of each.

I tried. I really did. But I just can't get past the chemically taste of red rooibos. If this were a green rooibos almond or a honeybush almond this probably would be a very different review. But I just can't deal with cough syrup tea, even if it is almond flavored.

I'm not quite sure what to make of this tea. It doesn't behave like a red at all. It's a pale amber in color, and the flavor is much lighter than a typical red tea. Its flavor is also difficult to pin down, though not unpleasant. I don't get the layers of complex flavors that I've come to expect from most Masters Teas. Instead, it is somewhat forgettable. I enjoyed the cup, but I'm not sure it made enough of an impression to stay in my collection. (3 mins @ 212°F)

This tea surprised me. When I smelled the dry tea leaves, they were musty--more like a pu-erh than a red tea. When it was hot, that same musty flavor - although almost yeasty this time - hit me like a brick wall. I put my mug down, drank some water, and tried again. Less yeasty this time, with a richer, almost caramel note. As the tea cooled, it became progressively sweeter. It tastes like I added a little bit of honey, but I didn't. Now that it's cool, I don't get any of the musty or yeasty notes. Now it's quite floral. It almost tastes like I have just eaten a gulab jamun, and am washing it down with a bit of tea. This tea ignites my curiosity, and any tea that does so is bound to stay in my collection. (3 mins @ 212°F)
