A solid choice for hazelnut lovers. Not too bitter at all and didn't need added sugar or cream to be enjoyable. A new staple to my tea collection!
Ceylon tea with cozy, creamy hazelnuts. Aromatic, slightly roasted with a rounded, sweet flavor and toasty dryness.

A solid choice for hazelnut lovers. Not too bitter at all and didn't need added sugar or cream to be enjoyable. A new staple to my tea collection!
I like it. Very nutty and true hazelnut flavor. Great with some oat milk!
This went straight to my favorites list. I enjoy it straight up with oat milk, no sugar... but I also like to add it to other teas to bring greater enjoyment to teas that laded on my mediocre list... I'm glad I found this one. Chestnut is also really nice!
One of my favorite things is hazelnut and this is spot on. Smells and taste just as great, give it a try.
My son-in-law loves the nutty tea flavors. This is one of his favorites.
1/21: I definitely got a weak batch last time. Reordered a sample, and this one is perfect. Nutty and fragrant and delicious - exactly what I was looking for!
Maybe I got a weak batch, but this had no marked smell when I opened the bag. Disappointed! As for the taste, I had to sweeten it to bring out any hazelnut flavor, which I wasn't expecting. Maybe I'll order another bag and see if it's any different. I got teabags, so maybe that has something to do with it?
I love the rich taste and aroma of Hazelnut loose tea! It's absolutely delicious! I'll be reordering this one!
This is a good hazelnut. I'm not as much a hazelnut tea as I am coffee, but I honestly feel this is a good hazelnut tea. I give honest reviews for help not alterier motives. It's worth a try.
Hazelnut Black Tea is a wonderfully blend that combines the bold depth of black tea with the smooth, nutty sweetness of roasted hazelnuts. The aroma is warm and inviting, with a toasty scent that reminds me of fresh hazelnut coffee, but softer and less intense.
I drink this with honeybush hazelnut but the plain taste good to. I boil mine, for 5 to 10 minutes.
One of my absolute favorites!!! its such a wonderful flavor profile, i don't normally like additives to my black teas but the hazelnut just mixes perfectly.
Reminds me of a hazelnut coffee creamer. Smells amazing and tastes great.
A good quality black tea with subtle hazelnut. Not a favorite but still good.
Great taste! Nutty and warm flavors that just make my day .
This one surprised me. I always loved Hazelnut coffee, but now I'm sensitive to the caffeine and can't drink it anymore. This hazelnut tea is the perfect replacement. With some milk and sugar, it tastes like a weak coffee but strong on flavor. That hazelnut taste is very earthy, nutty and in your face strong. Mixed with the gentler tea flavor, you could really mistake this for a hazelnut coffee. Perfect tea to accompany some breakfast. Love it.
This was absolutely delightful!! I would definitely get this again!!!
Great flavor. I love this by itself and also mixed with some of my chai blends too!
Adagio's Hazelnut (black) tea is a wonderfully smooth and nutty blend with brisk, slightly citrusy notes of Celyon tea complimenting the warm, toasty sweetness of hazelnut. Best if brewed at a slightly cooler temperature to reduce bitterness from the Ceylon base.
Great aroma, but tastes like hazelnut skins (unbelievably bitter; bad). Reminds me of this one time when I was cracking hazelnuts and my mom wanted to try one before I finished taking the skins off. She had a bad time. I likewise had a bad time with this tea sample.
Delicious flavor hazelnut all the was with a nutty bold flavor
Strong hazelnut flavor that makes for a great Fall tea. Not my favorite but I'll definitely add to my tea rotation.
One of my all-time favorite tea flavors from Adagio.
I really like hazelnuts, and did not find this tea to be other than just ok. It brews up strong, so I only brewed it for two minutes at 200F. Added a little sugar. Very earthy. Pleasant, but not awesome.
So combo review from my wife and I since I honestly just do not like hazelnut at all. My opinion is it was very hazelnut forward, but not a lot of excitement outside of that. I felt if you added cream and sugar it may hit hazelnut latte vibes with those that enjoy it. My wife said she thought it was too bitter which seems to be a popular opinion when following the recommended steep times and temps. Maybe if she gets another I will remind her that many have suggested lower time and temperature to get a less astringent black tea taste.
I’m not a big fan of hazelnut, but I really liked this tea. I did add a touch of heavy cream to it, to soften the flavor. Not going in my wish list, but really glad I was able to try this flavor out!
3 min @ 212 F, I think that the bitter and astringent aspects of the Ceylon come out a little too strong on this one. The hazelnut flavoring reminds me of coffee, just having that roasted, somewhat sweet note to it, and I'm not a fan of coffee. That, plus the bitter notes from the black she just don't blend the best in my opinion.
When it says it tastes like hazelnut, it tastes like hazelnut. It's not nutella, no chocolate or any sweetness besides the hazelnut. It almost has a coffee vibe to it. I would recommend it to someone who loves flavored coffee.
A simple hazelnut tea, improved by milk and sugar.
We like that this one has a definite hazelnut flavor, and that the black tea flavor is not overbearing. We tried it plain first, then with a sprinkle of brown sugar and my son (8) added a little cream. I don’t know if we would purchase this one, but it would be a good one if you’re switching from coffee to tea.
It's a classic for a reason. Bright hazelnut flavor that's not overly sweet or cloying, and though i was skeptical of the Ceylon base, it serves as a beautiful, multinote background for the flavor.
it's basic, but it's good!
Updated review: Add a little vanilla extract powder from Selefina for something wonderful in your cup!
Original review 10/22/22:
I am usually not a fan of hazelnuts, but this tea was delicious! The flavor was rich, and I was able to brew 3 small pots of tea from my CommuniTEA packet. If you want to add some special goodness, put in some chocolate honey from Adagio's Bees site (link is at the top of the page)!
This is a nice tasting hazelnut tea. I prefer it in blends or adding a little cream to it.
Hazelnut was my go to coffee creamer but now that I’ve switched to tea I wanted a familiar to my morning cup and this was great. Added with milk and sugar and my heart was content
BEST¡ 10/10 for this wonderful tea! It definitely tastes how it sounds and smells, like a nice roasted hazelnut.
I thought this tea was okay. I do agree with others that the taste is reminiscent of coffee creamer.
It tasted too much like a coffee creamer and I really don’t like coffee
One of my wife's favorites, this is a wonderful cozy winter tea. It actually does very well as an ice tea (cold brew).
If you luv hazelnut, you’ll luv this tea! Delicious!!! Highly recommend!! Shipping was quick and packing was GREAT! You’ll NEVER go back to the store brand again! That’s a guarantee!
This is a good tea for the morning. I went from drinking coffee to tea. The hazelnut helps with cravings for coffee in the morning. It's not to strong, it's just right. The flavor is really good.
I really didn’t care for this tea. I think it could be fine in blends, in small amounts, but I wouldn’t have this one plain. It’s not bitter per se, but there’s a very deep, roasted, flavor that reminds me of coffee, which I can’t stand. I wouldn’t get this one again.
212* for 3 minutes
Another flavored black tea that is just okay for me. I was never a big hazelnut fan to begin with, but adding my non-dairy creamer definitely helped me finish my cup.
Smooth, mellow, nutty, and cozy warmth are the first things that spring to mind with this tea. When I opened the packet I thought 'this is a scent I could live in.' Brewed at 204 for 3 minutes, the hazelnut scent and flavor stayed very front and center which was surprising, I expected it to be barely there compairing to other brands of hazelnut tea I've tried. I can see what people say about it getting bitter, I will try brewing at a lower temperature next time. This is definitely a tea I will have on hand.
You definitely have to like hazelnut for this tea, as it does have a strong flavor. I also brewed at 195 degrees to take away any bitterness. I thought it was delicious! It is nutty, smooth and toasty. If it's a bit too much by itself, definitely worth trying in a blend, especially if you have a good chocolatey black tea!
Continued mmmm in November 2024
Update: still good, prefer chestnut if I’m gonna do a nutty tea.
LOVE this esp with cream and sugar. Kind of a coffee stand-in.
Nutty with a bit of tartness. I do think that I tend to prefer my hazelnut flavor in blends with creme or cinnamon to add more sweetness; however, it is a good stand alone tea as well.
I can taste the hazelnut and it's not a bad tea, just not one that wows me. It was fine without any sweetener, though I prefer mine with a little cream. This is probably one I'd use in a blend rather than on it's own
Look, it is a YES. All the way, YES!!! Just try it. Yep
Nice balance of nuttiness and bitterness. I add some sugar to mine.
I got this originally as part of a bundle and while it wasn't my favorite, it is still a lovely tea. I love having this with a little vanilla syrup for sweetness (or hazelnut if I want to intensify the flavor in the tea) and cashew milk.
Has a yummy scent and a rich taste. I do add a bit of sweetener and it's a cup full of warm and cozy.
