A classic Whoopie Pie consists of two moist chocolate cake-like cookies sandwiched gently together with a generous portion of very light, creamy vanilla icing in between. Oprah and Rachel Ray have featured the Whoopie Pie on their shows. A Whoopie Pie Festival in Lancaster County, PA, was named in a list of the top 10 festivals in the country. I am always puzzled why the treat is not generally known outside the two states that claim to have invented them, Pennsylvania and Maine. This blend brings Whoopie Pies to the world.
