I mixed blood orange herbal tea with white tangerine and lemongrass for a delicious citrusy treat. The other day I ate a blood orange for the first time, and it became, hands-down, my favorite fruit. So I did a little research. The blood orange comes from a natural mutation with many types originating in Sicily. They're sweet and extra-tart and extra-flavorful with red-orange fruit.
