When our company was still a budding young tea leaf, we chose the simpler and more accessible names of Jasmine 5 and Oolong 8 to make gourmet teas less complicated for the majority of people for whom it was a novelty. We wanted our customers less confused and more inspired to explore the world of tea.

As we approached the opening of our physical stores, we realized that this practice was happily no longer necessary. Our consumers have become more familiar with the world of tea, and now come to us with more appreciation and knowledge than ever before. The time had clearly come for our simple monikers to give way to the formal names of teas used around the world, so that everyone, from the novice to the expert, can find exactly what they were looking for.
