Tea is very popular within college campuses, but the vast majority of students don't drink loose leaf because they think it is either too expensive, too complicated, or not better quality than what they would regularly buy. The solution: pay college students across the country to host tea parties, providing them with popular teas to serve and sell. At these parties other students would sample different types of tea, and Adagio's teas and ingenuiteas would be available for purchase. The hosting student would prepare the teas and be the salesperson, answering whatever questions come up. These parties could be set up easily through the internet, and even if students just come for the samples and don't buy anything, they will think of Adagio as the place to go for loose-leaf tea.

Creating free "tea centers" around campus and faculty lounges. Each center will have a water heater, recycled paper tea cups, 1 use tea bags and a popular selection of loose tea. Next to it can be a vending machine filled with other tea selections, regular and novelty mugs and a small selection of the tea gifts. This will insure that more people with buying power will get access to the teas, while providing a convenient way to purchase some of your tea selection. The center itself will be self-maintain, with only the occasional cleaning and restocking.

Goods parties are still very popular - think Mary Kay, Tupperware, Southern Living at Home, Discovery Toys. Perhaps Adagio could come up with a sort of starter demonstration set. Party attendees could order online, but with special coupons, perhaps. There might be a special gift package for the host/ess. Sellers could recruit friends to also facilitate parties. It might be good to have some items that facilitators could print out with info about the company, the teas, tea in general, teaware, etc. A facilitator would schedule a party with a host/ess who would invite friends. At the party a variety of teas could be brewed and served (with and in Adagio teaware) along with some food provided by the facilitator. For incentive, facilitators could be given Points to use toward future purchases (this could be based on simply having a party or how much the party goers purchase). Facilitators would be responsible for purchasing a starter kit (likely at a special price) and for host/ess gifts (also at a special price). Adagio would need to determine cost of creating PDFs and any other information materials as well as special party log-ins and discounts. It is difficult to guess the cost to Adagio, but estimates should consider initial loss on special pricing, Points for facilitators, and printable materials. Overtime, however, such a program should more than pay for itself.

The idea is to print qr codes on tea container labels, and when are scanned with a smartphone such as the iphone or android, the phone will take you to a page where you have info about the tea, maybe even a way to reorder and maybe even a simple timer to let you know how long to brew the tea. Everything from simple idea like the timer to a more complex idea, like trivia about the tea while you wait for it to brew can all be implemented and will make it in to a more interactive product.

Nowadays, a lot of kids I know (I'm a college student) are ALL ABOUT TEA. To put simply, it's almost an understated craze around most college campuses. Problem is, they are simply using bags and not really experiencing good tea. My campus has a student-run cafe (Grounds for Change), which does provide loose leaf tea, but nobody knows about it (and it's REALLY old and tasteless). I'd love to have a seminar or seminars/tastings about Adagio's brand, since I started with Adagio tea in my loose leaf journey.
Since the company does not wish to receive or hold any submitted materials "in confidence," it is agreed that no confidential relationship or obligation of secrecy is to be established between the submitter and the company with respect to the submitted ideas and materials.
(Confidential relationships have been held to create obligations beyond those which the company is willing to assume. Also, because it may be necessary to refer a submission to a number of persons in the company, secrecy cannot be promised even though there is ordinarily no intention of giving publicity to submissions.)
The submitter, by this agreement, does not grant any rights to the company under existing or future patents. However, except for claims of patent infringement, the company shall have the unrestricted right to use and disclose any submitted ideas and materials.
(The company seeks no licenses or other rights under patents by the Terms of Submission. Appropriate compensation for such rights may be determined by negotiations with the submitter if it is decided that the company is interested in the idea. We urge that the submitters be guided by their own attorneys as to the desirability of seeking patents and as to the fair value of any patent. Since patents are sometimes inadvertently granted on ideas which are, in fact, old or obvious, the company reserves its rights to contest the validity, infringement or enforceability of any patent. Others may freely copy unpatented products and processes and, therefore, the company is unwilling to accept any restrictions on its use or disclosure of submitted ideas, except for claims arising under patents.)
An honorarium will be awarded to the submitter if the submitted ideas are original and new to the company and are adopted for use by the company. The amount of the honorarium will be established according to the company's reasonable judgment, but it will not in any event exceed $50,000.
(The honorarium will be awarded under the above circumstances whether or not the idea is patented or capable of being patented. A limit of $50,000. is established, however, because ideas not subject to patent protection may be freely copied by competitors, without payment to anyone, once they are put into use. Payment of the honorarium does not give the company rights under any patents which the submitter has or may obtain, compensation for such rights being subject to negotiation as pointed out above.)
The submitter agrees to accept an honorarium, as awarded by the company at any time, in full settlement of any claims that the submitter may make against the company, except for claims of patent infringement.
(The honorarium, when awarded, is intended to recognize the submitter's helpfulness to us and settles all claims other than those which might arise under valid patents.)
Any prior negotiations or agreements are merged into and superseded by these terms, which may not be modified or waived except in writing signed by a company officer.
This Agreement, and the relationship established hereunder, shall be interpreted and construed in accordance with the internal laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its principles of conflicts of laws, and with the same force and effect as if fully executed and performed therein.
