It took me a few tries to actually get the hang of making matcha, but now I really enjoy it. At first, I brewed the tea with water that was too hot and it made it very bitter. The water should be hot but not boiling. I was worried it might just be the nature of matcha to be bitter, but after reviewing some matcha technique, I find the taste to be very smooth without being overpowering. However, I wish Adagio sold appropriately sized chawan!

This smells heavenly! Just like a Jaffa Cake or the chocolate oranges my mum used to buy for me at Christmas. The flavor itself is a little more subtle than the aroma but is still really excellent. I think with a little honey or sugar this would be just like a cup of chocolate orange. (4 mins @ 212°F)

I purposefully steeped this tea to make it really strong and it was excellent with a little almond milk! A great replacement for my morning coffee. Nutty, naturally sweet, and not at all bitter. The chocolate flavor is exceptionally smooth. Some teas become bitter if you steep them too long but that is not the case with this mate. Very nice! (10 mins @ 150°F)

Blood orange- what a wonderful tea. I've drunk this on its own as well as mixed it with others, and I have never been disappointed. If you are a fan of fruit teas or would like to be introduced to fruit teas, give it a go. It's really nice iced, too.

I really like genmaicha. it has a very round and savory flavor that you get more often in coffee than tea. Adagio's genmaicha even has a bit of a sesame note among the puffed rice and grassy green- however, I have noticed that it easily develops an unpleasant aftertaste. I am not sure if this is my fault, as I may be using water that is too hot or the metal basket of my teapot may be lending a metallic flavor- but even when brewed in my ingenuitea and in other people's teapots, I notice the same aftertaste. It's a lovely cuppa while being drunk- no milk and no sugar! However, that aftertaste throws me off a little bit.

I ordered the candy cane spice jubilee and am having an on/off relationship with it. Perhaps I haven't figured out how to best drink it. I drank several cups around the holidays (obviously) and loved it, but after a while I felt the peppermint had a bit of a funky aftertaste. It's really good with sugar and milk, maybe I'm oversteeping. Beautiful for the holidays, but I don't think I'll be brewing all year round.
