How to Order/Ship

"How do I place an order?"
To place an order, simply add all desired items to your shopping cart. To place any of the items in a shopping cart, simply click on its price on its individual product page under "add to cart." You may change quantities by entering a desired number and hitting the 'recalculate' button. To remove an item, simply set its quantity to zero. Once complete, please hit the 'checkout' button.
"Is it safe shopping online?"
We keep all your information private and secure. All orders are placed through our secure server. And we will not release an iota of this information to any third party.
"What are your payment options?"
We happily accept all major credit and debit cards, as long as it has a Visa, Mastercard, Discover or American Express symbol on it.
"Is there any sales tax?"
There is no sales tax on tea. Teaware items are subject to sales tax for the residents of New Jersey and California.
"What are your shipping rates?"
All orders received on a business day by 3pm EST are shipped the same business day. Orders placed after this or over the weekend will go out the next business day.

Our US shipping prices are very reasonable: Ground rate (non-rural) is only $3.75. Second Day delivery is $9.75. Next Day rates are calculated automatically based on weight and distance. To learn more, please visit our shipping page.
"Do you ship to (insert international destination here)?"
We ship orders to most countries with USPS. The delivery option outside the United States takes 1-6 weeks to arrive.

"How do I send a gift to another address?"
To send to a different address, simply select "or enter a new address" in the shipping address section of checkout and enter the gift recipient's address.

All your purchases may be gift-wrapped at no additional charge. Simply select "yes" when prompted "Is this a gift?" in checkout and select the items you'd like to get wrapped. Our round tea tins, not conducive to wrapping, are instead packaged in our beautiful decorative gift-boxes.
"I need to ship these to two different addresses. Can I combine them into one order to save on shipping?"
Unfortunately, shipping is charged per package, so all orders going to a separate address must be placed separately and shipping must be charged for each one. The total for EACH ORDER must be over $50 to take advantage of "Free Shipping Over $50."
"What's up with the rural surcharge?!"
We rely on the services of UPS to deliver our packages (more reliable than the post office), and the rural classification for your ZIP code is within their discretion.

As you may imagine, it costs more to deliver packages in rural areas. Consequently, UPS charges us extra for rural deliveries. We do not make any money on this surcharge! Still, even with the $2 surcharge, hope you agree that our shipping rates are very reasonable.
"Can I ship to Alaska/Hawaii?"
We gladly ship orders to Alaska and Hawaii. The only caveat is that the shipping fee is higher. Since UPS is not a viable option, we must ship AK and HI orders with Priority Mail, a more pricey option at $9.75 per order. Orders can take up to 4 weeks to be delivered.
"Can I ship to an APO/FPO?"
We happily ship to APO/FPO addresses via USPS Priority Mail service. The only caveat is that the shipping fee is higher at $7.75 per order.
"How do I use a gift certificate?"
The entry point for your gift-certificate is found on the very first check-out page, where you are given an option of using a gift-certificate or credit card. Please select 'gift-certificate' and our system will automatically subtract its amount from your purchase. And allow you to place any amount remaining on a credit card of your choice.

We unfortunately may not do this retroactively, so please follow these instructions thoroughly and email us if there are still problems before completing your order!
"I don't like ordering online. Can I order by phone or pay by check/money order?"
Unfortunately, at this time we do not accept order via check or money order.
"Where's your phone number?"
Unfortunately, at this time we do not offer live phone ordering or support. However, we are lightning fast at answering emails!
